Nice video! I was born in Inuvik 49 years ago. The road you travelled on, I believe ,was Navy Road. That road used to be a no go zone, in my day, unless you were with the Military. There udsed to be a monitoring station there for soviet radio traffic. There was a base in Inuvik until 1984. I enjoyed your video, it brought back many memories of life there from 1964 until 1982. Thanks!

Looks like the main street in the 'downtown' area is paved. I've been to Barrow, which is not that much further north than Inuvik , and NOTHING is paved. They say the intense cold would just completely crack up any pavement you could put down.

Plumbing pipes above the ground probably has to do with permafrost/frozen ground. Construction above frozen ground is a tricky matter.

Thanks cool video you covered alot of area I was there in the late 80's worked at RDR sports for a few months this also brought back many memories for me. Lunch at the Eskimo Inn, or Skidoo racing and culture event they had down on the river. I can't remember what it was called. Interesting place. My brother John who had lived there for many years had talked me into going there. wish I could have watched this first to be prepared lol. It looks like it has improved alot since. Cheers.
