- Rambles with Robin and Ruby: Building On Permafrost - The Cold Reality - Inuvik, Northwest Territories, June 17, 2019, Episode 19E23
Robin is a 2015 T@B travel trailer. Ruby is a 2019 Subaru Outback.
In this episode of Rambles with Robin and Ruby, I paint a brief picture of Inuvik and its history. But, the main focus is construction on permafrost in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Canada. I include brief illustrations of the engineering considerations needed to build in the Inuvik area, including houses, water and sewer infrastructure, the regional hospital, the airport, and the Dempster and Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk highways. Construction must be done in a way to protect the permafrost and keep it from melting.
Geological and other natural curiosities include: a) continuous permafrost; b) Mackenzie River delta; c) Mackenzie River; d) discontinuous permafrost; and e) thermosiphon cooling.
Also mentioned are the following communities and geographic sites: a) Inuvik; b) Dempster Highway; c) Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk Highway; d) Northwest Territories; e) Mackenzie River delta; f) Inuvik (Mike Zubko) Airport; g) Inuvik Regional Hospital.

I liked that one part of your video, where there were 3 cars, lol...
:)
Really fascinating thank you!
You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Windows are small, for good reason, to avoid heat loss...
@wasylbakowsky5199: That is an excellent point about the window size. Thanks for adding.
