- How to turn offline printer online in Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10.
There are many reasons why a printer can go offline; they range from connectivity issues to a powered-down printer. Most of the time, you can bring the printer back online with a few clicks in Windows, but if not, there are additional troubleshooting steps you can take.
1. Reboot your printer by shutting it off and turning it back on again. Give the unit a minute or two to finish booting.
2. Verify that the printer is plugged in to your computer (for local printers) or that it has network connectivity. If the printer is a networked unit, double-check the link light on the back of the printer to make sure it’s flashing green.
3. Log on to your computer using an account that has “Manage Printers” rights to the printer. In most cases, a local administrator account is sufficient.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 operating systems.Works for all major computer manufactures (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung). - Věda a technologie

NO it only made it more confusing
unfortunately my computer keeps saying that configuration is not supported smh
No, you did not. Now my laptop is saying "An error occured during port configuration.
The requested resource is in use." What do I do now?
👌🏽
no, i have nothing checked and none of the ports work
You have know idea how long I have been trying to resolve this problem. A simple reset and done! Thankyou!
I did exactly what you said in the video and it worked. Thank you so much. This printerproblem almost drove me crazy. Yes, you're a true lifesaver.
Thanks for helping.
What's wrong or why when I click on CONFIGURE PORT it show me warning THIS OPERATION IS NOT SUPPORTED?
Lifesaving video! I have a Brother wireless that while getting a bit older, still works well, except for all the times it is "offline." I've tried various fixes, reinstalled drivers, etc. IF these fixes work they are always temporary. This fixed my issue immediately. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
when i clicked on configure port... a window popped up saying This operation is not supported. Any ideas? Thanks
You have to create a new port that says "Standard TCP/IP Port" and follow the instructions from there. After that, you can do what he did in the video. Hope that helps!
Did that and it still says offline.

I had the same problem and finally just unplugged the USB cable and plugged it back in and the printer worked straight away. Technology!!?
YOu might have clicked when WDS port was selected
If printer is set up as default printer ---then when i clicked on configure port..a window popped up saying This operation is not supported....Now my friend has this beause hers is not set up as default printer....this comes up for her but not with default printers
says an error has accrued when I try to configure, and that this operation is not supported.

I have been having this problem for over a year! It took hours to print anything. This works! I love you! THANK YOU!!!!!!!

When I click configure port error occurred so what now
Thank you so much for the video. As many have stated, when I clicked "Configure Port," I got the pop-up window that stated "This operation is not supported." I then clicked the "Standard TCP/IP Port" and followed the rest of your tutorial. Afterward, I clicked "Run the troubleshooter," and it didn't recognize the new port. So I clicked back on the original port (WSD Port). Now everything works perfectly. It cleared the "Offline" error. Thanks again.
Glad to help...and glad to hear some viewers can figure things out using the framework of my tutorial, even if everything does not match 100% the video.

I just viewed the tutorial. I used it, step by step, to get my printer back on line. IT WORKED! I am the techno idiot so thank you so much.
What a most helpful video! It instantly fixed an annoying, on-going problem I've been having with a new Lexmark multi-function printer I'd bought recently. Thank you.
Glad it helped!
@@MDTechVideos When i click on configure port it says operation is not supported
thanks man, way more helpful than the chat bot from the official manufacturer 😁
It worked automatically. At first i was getting the same message that everyone else is posting about "not being supported" But after I created a new port and added the IP it worked great! THANK YOU!
Glad I could help
Perfectly clear and super helpful instructions!!!! Thank you!!!! I applied at work.
This tip solved my problem immediately without even a restart of the printer or laptop. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thank you so much.. I dont know how my printer went to another port! I worked on this for 4 hours yesterday...wish i found your video earlier...thank you again!

Hi I did everything like you did in the video, came to the point of clicking on configure port but a dialogue window opened saying this operation is not supported. My printer is HP f300 and my OS is windows 10. Can you help me solve this problem please

Just leaving a comment here to say this worked. My printer is a HP Color Laserjet CP2025dn, and I'm running Windows 10 64bit. I couldn't even get a test page printed before this. Thanks again for posting this! It's still helping people in the year 2020.
Great to hear.
Thank you, Sir. You're a life saver. Blessings

how to install the offline to online kone 80 printer its very urgent please help me
What I did for my Konica Minolta C353 to Connect again:
I did what you described in your video.
But the problem was that the "Wire" connecting the Printing machine and the Router wasn't creating a connection.
So, 1st) I unplugged the wire and Plug it back again in the router.
and 2nd) I tick the checkbox ✅ [SNMP Status Enabled] again. and everything was fixed.
Great job sir, I got my printer back online and working. Thanks a million.
Glad it helped
When I click on Configure Port, I received an error message that says: Configure Port. An error occurred during port configuration. This operation is not supported. How do I fix this, please? My Printer will not print, even though it says that it is connected and ready to print.
I tried, and it worked. That exactly what I was looking for. You are the best.
Glad I could help
Great tip and very helpful. Thanks!

I'm stuck at the configure port part, where it says "an error occurred during port configuration. This operation is not supported." How do I fix this?
Hi, i have been doing the step by step in your video and when it comes to configure port i am getting a msg saying "no item to be set for this port...what am i doing wrong?
Really helpful video. Question. How can a software product make such a simple matter so complicated? Surely there could have been a button saying "Put printer online"
Seriously!!!! Why do they do this to us!
well I am trying everything as you have stated. However my computer won't allow me to unclick anything or configure either. My printer worked find about a month ago, now just stopped printing. Yes I have restarted, everything. nothing is working. Printer turns on fine. I even made sure the wifi is connected and it is.
Thank you so much! I've been looking for tutorial like this to help me fix my printer.. so far this is the one helped me.. huhu
Good job and just what I have been needing to know, but...…...In Windows 10 home you cannot get administrative privileges', and so I get a an error message "this operation is not supported" when I uncheck configure port. It is checked on a WSD port with my HP Envy in a column.

excellent video, but I noticed that your port name and IP address are the same but on mine they are different, my printer icon is grayed out and offline, do these need to be the same and if so how do I do that?...router network? thanks
Thanks a lot , this was very helpful 👍🏻

When I go to ports, the only choice is Remote Printer Ports. It is highlighted and had a check. All choices are greyed out except ok. Any ideas? Thank you!

1. find out the brand and model of your printer, go to their website and download the driver
2. uninstall the old driver, reboot computer, and install the one you just downloaded
if you don't understand what I'm talking about, please find someone has some computer knowledge to help you
Thank you Thank you! You helped save me many hours :))))

I followed steps, but didn’t restart the printer as status went back online, HOWEVER my application could not find any printers at all. Then I changed settings back and printer appeared offline again. So I did all steps to include restarting the printer, and now everything works properly.❤
Nice video, but my computer does nothing when i click on Printer Properties...Any ideas?

Hi,
I have Brother MFC490CW printer on Win 10 PC and it stopped printing all of a sudden. May be some updates caused a problem. I can print copies, scan but cannot print from my computer.
I followed your instructions but it won't let me open Port configuration box. Error comes. Any help you can render? I have put it to my old computer running Win7 Pro.

I got an error when clicking the Config Port option: An error occurred during port configuration. This operation is not supported. What do I do?
Hello there, I found this video to be helpful. I have one question. My printer is still offline. Would that have anything to do with the fact that my internet is not on at the moment? Does a printer need internet to work? The model I have is a Brother HL - 2130. Please, if you can reply back I'd be grateful. Thanks.
Very likely, yes. If you are using a wireless printer, it connects through your router and back to your computer. If your internet/router is down, it can not make a connection.
Hi, when I clic on Configure Port, it says that an error occurred during the port configuration. What shoud I do?
Mine said that too
My ts3300 worked fine till last night then as I printed it suddenly stopped and says E-01 error and says it still can be used for "non-printing"
I can't get it to come back online and it keeps saying to contact epson tech support. So...even though this may be directed to canon, the epson isn't too different is it?
Just saying it's weird that it worked perfectly then now refuses to do anything. I have no internet at my home, so to hook it up we had to find Wi-Fi of some sort to turn it on at first. I hope it isn't needed to use web to fix this error too otherwise I'm screwed. I don't even know what to look for to fix it even if I had web
what if you get this "An error during port configuration. This port is not supported." thanks
thank you, so helpful!!!! it works again!!!!

This is the same advice given on other videos. Unfortunately the 'configure' command isn't allowed for many of us, so no help unfortunately.
can you make this tutorial for a usb cable printer
I followed your directions but when I clicked on WSD port a message came up after I selected configure port that said, an error occurred during this port configurations, this operation is not supported. Any suggestions?
Do you have a way to make print with epson by using interner . That mean if I can make printer using from my office to my home
If you can kindly elaborate, I will do my best to assist.
is this possible to see the old ip of my office priniter, suddenly it wont go to main UI, probelm is i forgot to take photo of the IP address before upgrading it. Thanks.

Excellent and functional, I easily fixed the problem of a colleague's printer.
Great to hear!

I just unchecked this port and it works. Thanks
I have 4 different drivers installed for the same HP Laserjet CP2025 printer. These instructions worked for one of them. One is all I need. Thanks!
By the way, one of the drivers is a universal driver, and that one was working well for about a year, but lately Windows thinks it is offline more often than not. Unfortunately, there is no option to configure that driver. The driver that I COULD configure was already set up on the "standard TCP/IP port." The type of port might matter.
I have an Epson ET and I followed your instructions but I couldn't continue after I clicked "Configure Port". A message would show me "an error occurred during port configuration. This operation is not supported." So I'm stuck :/ Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot, it really worked!
What if my printer is set up wireless?
When I go to posts, Remote Printer Posts is the only option. It is highlighted. The bottom is greyed out. All I can choose is ok.
