All the guys you meet in those saloons are rapey, you even have 2 women in your gang nearly get assaulted, so you feel a bit bad for the girl just wanting to not hang.
Edit: Got the event to return and this time I just said yes then before the room i hogtied her. Whole town got angry at me.
This is pretty crazy how many options the game offers you and how different everyone can play out this random little scenario

@Ihsan lul what scenarios Witcher 3 gives you to choose from? it has 3 basic endings +2 for dlc, your choices has no impact on game world, the only difference is game ending "video". But still their games are decent, spent my self 230+ hours in witcher 3 and about 150 in Cyberpunk.

Only scripted things can be reported, so it’s very rare to get a crime the sheriff will care about… that isn’t committed by you.
There’s a guy in valentine who tries to drown his wife you can hogtie and take to the sheriff and he’ll accept the prisoner.
In my game, there was another thing I tried: After declining to help her, she pulls a knife on Arthur; I then run him down through the saloon with her in pursuit. Most of the patrons back away in terror, but a couple of dudes at the bar take swings at her if she gets close to them; she takes down all of them if they don't pull their guns, then comes after you again, and if you run into the street, she gets gunned down from a couple of people near the entrance. The sheriff shows up and gives one of the default lines about how her killing finally caught up with her, etc. etc. The funny thing was, after shooting her, everyone just goes back to what they were doing, bodies in the bar just laying there and everything, lol. The important thing is, you can't allow Arthur to be struck immediately after he declines to help, otherwise she just stays in the room, knife drawn, until you leave town.
Interesting. The fact that bodies tend to be left unattended is unfortunately something we get to see a lot of (aftermath of gunfights in towns, people getting run over by the railcars in Saint Denis, etc). Strangely enough, it seems the game already has A.I mechanisms in place to fix that. After some gunfights, when Arthur is wanted by the law, you can hide in the vicinity and wait for the lawmen ot come. If they don't find you, they will instead carry dead bodies away on their horses. So it's unfortunate that Rockstar didn't have time to make that behavior more generally applicable because it's a bit of an immersion breaker to have corpses on the streets just lying around.

Just started playing RDR2 after christmas. I ran into her the 1st time and helped her, and took the money, then left. Came back into town a few nights later and she hailed me again, so I took the body to the pig pen, took the money and left again. Went up north and got the Arabian horse. then happened to be passing through Valentine again and saw a public hanging going on. I sat and listened to the speech, and thought wow, I helped her twice. I wondered about trying to save her, but they pulled the lever and that was it. So many decision points, It never pass my mind to turn her in. I didn't even know that you could report stuff to the law.

I was just about to post that you can help her twice, not turn her in, see her in the jail cell (but not get to talk to her, unfortunately) and finally see her hang, but decided to look through the comments first to see if someone else already posted it. Yours was the first I found.

There's more. If you just help her, then there is at least one follow up encounter that can happen.
She kills another guy and asks for help again but this time, the victim has a knife sticking in the middle of his back which makes the self defence excuse more unlikely. You can again choose to help her or report her.

Yep, that's what happened to me. I didn't believe her this time and rejected her request to help. Then she tried to kill me and I killed her! Now, after few weeks after that, I came back to Valentine and see her beeing hanged... But I killed her before... Rockstar?... I guess it is a bug/defect

Here is my take, if she is really a serial killer, why would she need you? She could have someone else like a homeless person for hired to take care of the corpse. There are are so many options like a loyal sidekick etc.

Actually you can run into her at least 3 times if you don't turn her in. In my game I helped her get rid of 3 bodies and got paid each time. Then while I was riding through town I saw her at the gallows. I waited and got watched her swing.

@@nokachi3339 Uhhh, no, not really. NV doesn't have the random encounters with like 4 different outcomes to each one, but it does give you more than one option to beat most quests. NV was indeed phenomenal for it's day, but doesn't even come anywhere close to RDR2 in terms of roleplay. I've beaten NV like 15 times if not more, one of my favourites of all time. But you're wrong. You have significantly more freedom to do what you like in RDR2, and you play as a character you really feel emotional for, doing what you think is best to fit the narrative of his personality and traits, AKA roleplay. NV you're kinda just a blank canvas, no personality, you do what you do cause there's really nothing stopping you from just killing everything that you can see. There are a few quests with a few different outcomes, and you can kill just about anything at any time. That's where the roleplay ends for NV.

In my current playthrough, I helped her out twice, didn't involve the sheriff at all, and still came across her execution later.
I shot the rope then ran like buggery to get out of a town full of pissed off lawmen, while she buggered off in another direction with the noose around her neck.
That's my default run. Was hoping there would be more of her, but no...
I double crossed her (took her money to get rid of the body, turned her into the law, although i waited in the office until they brought her back, and got the reward). BTW, I'd argue it's the most honorable solution, not the least. I did the job she paid me for, and I reported a crime I witnessed (what happened between her and the sheriff is her problem).

I also helped her out both times. I believed her since I didn’t really get any indication that she was lying. Couldn’t take the money the second time because I got caught disposing of the body. I still think it’s pretty vague even after the Sheriff’s dialogue whether she was just a crazy murderer. I think it’s at the very least too ambiguous to call her a “serial killer”. By the way, you don’t need cheats to save her. I managed to do it by shooting the rope from far away, and then I had to book it on foot and steal one of the lawmens’ horses because mine got spooked and ran away once they started shooting at me. It was INTENSE!

Man, rdr2 is a masterpiece, can't state it enough! On the other hand look at cyberpunk 2077.
They’re both superb games. The bugs for both were horrible. Completely unplayable on PC. I’m hoping the release more content for Cyberpunk but I honestly can’t get enough of RDR2.
@@anoshs played rdr2 on ps4 no issues except few frame drops and minor bugs, meanwhile they are still trying to fix cyberpunk 2077, and from the looks of its state i think it'll never be playable (stable 30fps) on base last gen consoles. I heard the game has good story but they scammed so many people. I'll play it but wait atleast 1 year, anyways ps5 doesn't seem to be available here

Actually it’s pretty well known that hogs/pigs eat anything and everything. At least amongst people familiar with livestock. (Given the time period, it didn’t strike me as odd when I encountered her. Mainly because it was probably more common knowledge then. Then again I only encountered her once. Would’ve been suspicious had it happened twice and she asked for help again. Would’ve been like “... hold up.” 👀)

If you help her then double cross her you get dishonor. If you refuse and carry her to the sheriff you get honor. It's the double cross which is dishonorable. The right course of action is to turn her in and let her hang as she according to the Sheriff has killed multiple people making her a serial killer praying on male patrons at the saloon. People don't believe everything you hear. Just because she tells you it was self defence doesn't mean the story is true. She admits her guilt when you take her in and threatens.

If you help her dispose of the body and you don’t report it to the sheriff, she will still be hanged after a few days when you helped her. So I guess she kept killing people after you helped her dispose of the body.
