This guy, along with a few sailing channels, convinced me to give up weed, get sober, and save my money for a boat. Fast forward a year or so later and I'm actually going to look at a used sailing yacht within the next week. I've joined the local club and learned a lot about boating and it's only changed me for the better. Thanks for being a big inspiration to get my head out of the mud and actually live life.👍

Rod you’re honestly better off with a 1 person Bivy tent…you’ll have more headroom, waterproof all around, warmer and less windy… That tarp is going to channel all the wind and rain through like a tunnel…Your definitely not escaping the morning moisture..
Y'all should check out Chris bamman. He does this kind of stuff all the time
Rod, sorry pal but your in the wrong job, you should be a boat cover designer, though Im sure somebody watching this vid will snap you up. Talent like this dosnt grow on trees , and you think outside the box , great start design which I know will change , but looks awesome☺
That's cool if it works and is comfortable for you, that's all that matters. FYI: If you end up in prison, you definitely DON'T want to sleep on your stomach...lol...you want to sleep on your back or side with back to the wall.
You bugger. I just got off the water from an all night canoe sortie here in Sedgefield, South Africa and now i'm getting my boat ready for another trip. Enjoy
A hammock is not very good for your back 😕. Great set up though 👌
Fair play fella - don’t worry about the Lateral Line tent. Awful design. So much hassle to put up and take down. A 3 sec pop-up would have been just as good in that scenario 😂.
Your modified boat tent is a really good design, it's simple and not over complicated like most of the store bought ones.
Another great video, Rokkit Kit! I've also been using a tent/shade on my 18 foot center console boat. I repurposed my backyard deck 3 point shade as a sun cover for my boat bow when my wife and kids take a nap/break from fishing. I used bungee cords to hook it to the center console railings as well as front and side railings. I've even successfully tested it while running at under 15 knots. I really enjoyed the part where you show off your MacGyver skills again.
I enjoy watching the boat upgrade videos cuz the old boy always does such a nice job and takes his time doing it. It's very clear that he loves his boats dearly and everything that is installed is a major upgrade
Great solution to a boring evening. The weather is crap here so appreciate the video. Always enjoy your content and learn a lot at the same time!
Rod, you are unstoppable now! This boat, the motor, the tent, the Simrad, the Minn Kota, the giant cooler - you have it all! I cannot wait to see where you go and what you do next!
That's some nice work, Man! Setup of the center pole and ridgeline attachment points is GENIUS! I know you learn from each adventure so can't wait to see how you improve your rig even more!
Very nice job with the new boat tent! Really enjoy your content and love your new boat. Have been camping in hot weather for 20 years and recently learned that just a small inexpensive battery powered fan can make heaps of difference in comfort.
Probably a good idea to start using a fuse box and a main kill switch if you're going to keep attaching electronic equipment.
Love that you recognized that beautiful weld.
Great idea but just a thought.. Maybe a couple of those flexable poles from a dome tent chopped down to size so you can get a bit more tension on it, they could mount with some sown pockets on the velcro.
If it works and it's cost nothing but a bit of your time, it's a winner. If it doesn't, then all it's cost you is a bit of your time. But more importantly, you've learnt what does and doesn't work, and why. And that saves you time, money and effort in the future.
