@@PrecisionWellbeing yes I have and they seem to be loosening things up. I had hip replacement surgery a year ago and things have gone pretty good but all of a sudden out of nowhere it started hurting. Your video narrowed it down and it seems to be related to muscle spasms. I need to strengthen the area around my hip back up. I never really got my full strength back since my surgery. Thanks for your feedback and keep up the great work on the videos.

Thank you, young man. I was starting to think I was moving into the realm of arthritis. But once you explained the differences in where the pain was, and what was most likely to cause it, I realized that I need to stretch my muscles out. So, I went from an arthritis sufferer, to totally cured of arthritis in less than 20 minutes.....a miracle. Thank you again.

Very comprehensive. I need to get more stretches definitely. I'm subscribing and following you Doc. Thanks a lot may good bless you. I like the way he explained simple and neat. 😇

This is just incredible. The volume of information that is easy to understand in this video is incomparable to anything I’ve come across. I began to experience lumbar back pain/stiffness that began to migrate into my right hip over the last 15-16 months. I’ve spent so many hours with physical therapists, yet never have walked away with this much education & understanding about what is causing my pain, in which muscle, tendon, etc it’s likely in & the various ways in which to address it, safely but effectively.
I don’t understand why so many trained health professionals, physicians all the way through to Physical therapists are so unwilling or unable to educate & openly share all of the information they’ve obtained/acquired/discovered through their own education, careers & practices
.Even when it is so valuable & even life changing for their patients.
Thank you for this! Definitely subscribing.

As a 73 year old competitive Pickleball player, I appreciate your very thorough description of hip pain, as it has helped me to be better able to describe my symptoms to my chiropractor. Additionally, the stretches are incredibly beneficial, as I am already feeling relief from the hip flexor stretches. Your outstanding presentation was clear and concise! More importantly, for me, using the model of the hip was pivotal to understanding the hip structure as well as the involvement of tendons and muscles in the development of hip pain. Very impressive and helpful! Thank you so much.

Im very glad I found your video! First, you gave an excellent tutorial of the anatomy of 3 areas of related to specific hip pain. For me, this is VERY helpful. Second, you show how to self identify or eliminate the (potential) cause of hip pain in culprit area. Also you gave very clear info to help identify - Yes, this is exactly my problem. Lastly, and so important, you gave exercises to help strenghten and sometimes stretch problem areas... but you gave cautions along the way. I can go all in and that is not the correct approach to heal the pain I've been in for many months. Honestly this video and one other has been so helpful in improving my pain. I hope you're teaching because you're quite good. Thank you!

Thank you. I've suffered from hip pain since I was in my 20's, I'm 41 now. I had had issues with arthritis for as long as I can remember and it started in my back, then went to my left hip after my 2cd child was born it was constantly in pain and numb. Well fast forward 10 years and I lived with the pain, til last few years I had less flare ups, but then last night I slept on that hip and woke up in middle of night with the remembrance of exactly what that pain is and now I'm in so much pain I'm trying stretches to get it away or to subside enough it won't disable me from work. It's awful. And I appreciate your time in this subject. It's worse than back pain I'd say.

Brilliant, thank you. I've had pain in my right hip for over a year now. It's fine when I'm running but long, slow walks give me issues. Have been to a sports massages and they said it was piriformis but judging by your explanation it could be one of the others.
I used the stretch you recommend when sat on the bench (heel on top of opposite knee and push down) but as I'm quite flexible did it laid on my back and brought my good knee up to my chest.
I think this is essentially what's called a figure 4 stretch? God I've never felt a strain like it, felt the pull right through my buttock and knew instantly that's where the pain was originating from.

Thank you. I've had bilateral hip pain located on the lateral side just as you explained. I've been diagnosed with bursitis. This started when I was 27 years old, I'm 66 now. Periodically I've received steroid injections. Over the past 2 years I've been getting them every 3 months. Interesting to note, at 27 I was 5'9 3/4" @ 128 pounds, a nurse. At this point in my life I've just retired with 38 years under my belt. I was an ER nurse for 31 years. I'm not lazy. I'm flexible, even now. I can bend my legs over my knee without exertion, BUT it does elicit pain to the lateral, bilateral hips when forcing further flexion. Now I'm overweight, have had a c- spine fusion and last year an l- spine fusion. I also have rheumatoid arthritis diagnosed at 27 and AIH diagnosed at 12. So I've been on a low maintenance dose of steroids for years as well as imuran since 1984. So pain is no stranger to me and have had numerous steroids injections over the years. Anyway, my point. I've been to physical therapy many times. I used to teach exercise classes as well. But, I'm going to try these exercises you have pointed out. Recently I've started a waking regimen as well. I have a lake I walk to. 5 minutes there and back and will gradually increase it as it becomes more bearable. Thank you for this clip!

This was very informative, thank you!
I did something to my right hip a couple weeks ago (pain is in the front), & I've been trying to figure out what exactly I need to work on to 1. help it get better but more importantly 2. make sure it doesn't happen again whether its strength or flexibility. I believe I passed all these tests, though I'll feel pain in the inner hip doing the seated glute stretch if I push the knee below parallel. It also hurts a bit doing simple knee raises (standing, bring knee to chest), and then more so if I turn the knee out.
It's definitely getting better. It probably was a strain that just needs time to rest up (I've still been exercising maybe a bit too much on it), but I'm still not entirely sure what to do once it gets better. Considering I can almost do the front splits, it's probably not a flexibility issue so I guess that leaves strength.
Anyways thank you, this definitely gave me some things to think on, and I think even just doing the tests did also help relieve some of the pain maybe?
