    Hay thanks for all your videos and knowledge you share I’m gonna inspect a sound comeing from the timing cover on a 2016 ford fiesta and was wondering is their a seal or gasket on the cover and is thier fluid that will leak out couldn’t find a video on it this my first time with timing chains and timing covers

    No need to take valve cover off to lock with the bar if your not removing the cam pulleys. Then to have the cam lock tool on the gears is two tools doing the same thing

      So just the tdc an the valve timing? Not the whole top off

    Hi, thank you for the detailed video. Is the 1.6 liter an interference engine? Is that why the engine will be damaged? I’m looking at purchasing a 2011 Ford Fiesta and would like to know for maintenance purposes. Thank you.

    This was was really good video.. so thank you for taking the time..
    I followed your instruction to the letter. And it all went back together with no problems. BUT I kept getting either a p0016 p0017 code. Which is a cam sensor bank 1 and 2 out of sync codes. No matter how careful I was it kept coming up.after watching another video I found that the timing tool for the camphasers is cut wrong. Or so I assume. I even went to a tool rental place and got the tool you used. Still the same issue. So the other video suggested I turn the tool upside down. Or flip it top to bttm. Apparently the alignment marks are spaced differently from top to bottom. Can you expand on tbis?

      I'm having the same exact issue on my end. The engine rotates just fine but won't start and has the camshaft codes. Did flipping the tool work for you? And do you remember if your timing marks were the same as it was with it right side up?

      @@ryanking8175 no. It didn't work.
      I ended up replacing the camshaft phasers (the cam sprockets) that fixed it.

      @John Smith I recently got a print out from a mechanic. There could be multiple TDC positions that you have to rotate through so I'm going to try that. Wish me luck and thanks for the reply.

      @@ryanking8175 I watched 5 videos and none said anything about multiple rotation positions. So the fact there's a locking pin in the side of the engine, and you theredore can't rotate the engine???

      @John Smith I figured it out! It's just making sure you lock the crankshaft with a timing pin and using the timing tool on the camshaft phasers. The tool works its just the crankshaft when slightly out of alignment sends those codes for the camshaft.

    good to know, if my fiesta needs a timing adjustment then i will go to the dealer. a few special tools for that task...
