I am super thankful for this video. Had to say it haha . I recently acquired a garage with purchasing a home with my wife and had a great set up to pull this off so just had to show that thankfulness 100% and you definitely rock hard-core for taking the time to go over every step that was needed 🎉
Excellent ! Author has taken every care to explain the process. Incidentally this is the 1.25 Duratec petrol engine. I shall use this video when I do my belt, tensioner, water pump replacement. 5 star.
Thank you so much for making and sharing this video! So easy to follow! One thing I wanted to see if you could get your opinion on. I went through this step by step and the engine started right up. After about ten minutes of driving the check engine light came on and stayed on. I'm gonna run a scanner, but i just wondered if there was anything common after a timing belt replacement. Thanks again for such a great video!
Hi, happy to help, well it could be many things starting from one tooth out on timing belt(this is that I had come accros most) then maybe some sensor not plugged it all the way and it could something totally not related to what you did just coincidence that something went out right after you work on it, best thing as you said is to read fault code with scanner, best of luck. Thank you!
Thanks for making a detailed video. There’s an other tool that locks the fly wheel from the starter mount. I think that one will help hold the engine tight in position so you can torque the crank pulley bolt to specs without breaking anything or losing timing. Correct me if I’m wrong
At the 28:48 mark, you make a comment about the crank timing belt gear spinning freely. How is that possible... I'm thinking it needs to be keyed into the crankshaft... if the gear turns, the crank turns and vic versa. Please explain this free spinning design. other than displacement, what is the major differences between the 1.2l and the 1.6l thanks.
Hi, crankshaft itself is lock, but crankshaft gear/pulley spins freely and they dont have any locking on them and once big pulley for auxilery belt in install the crankshaft pulley bolt that secures both pulley together and it “sandwitch” timing belt crankshaft gear and prevents it from spinning freely once engine is started, I hope this gives some idea.
Great video! I liked and subscribed. I have a question. I have an Mk6 2008 1.4 petrol Fiesta. I heard it has the same engine like this one in the video. Is it true? Is it the same way to remove the timing belt on my mk6 like on this one? Thanks! Looking forward to see more video from you.
did you torque the crank bolt after something like 74ft then 90 degree after 2 min another 15 degree? i just use impact gun to tight it up as well.. since the bolt is very loose when coming out.
Hi, yes, as water pump is right behind timing belt, it is better to di both in same time, i had in past where customer insisted to do only timing belt and two months later his water pump gave up and he had to pay whole labour again.
@@EverydayValuedMechanic thank you my friend for your reply can you advise me where to buy timing tool? I want to do this job my self i don't find a hood mechanics that do a good job
HELP! I did my waterpump and everything seemed fine afterwards(except for longer cranks before start) and a few weeks later it just completely quit starting up. I wedged my timing belt with the two top cams so nothing would move. Does the timing effect a no start?(2016 Ford fiesta se hatchback)
@mateuszkolacki1704 I guess I have another big question, Would I be able to zero the timing if I use just the crank lock pin and a cam lock? I have seen somebody else talking about a flywheel lock pin and some other lock pin i think below the starter.
That zip tie trick saved us hours of headache. Thank you so much!
Glad it helped! Thank you for watching.
this is the only detailed video for this job without crazy shaking camera. exactly wat i was looking for. good job
Thank you, happy to help!

Thank you, much appreciated.
Awesome video. Glad I waited a few months before doing it!! All previous videos I seen for this job have been junk. Great helpful video!
Happy to help! Thank you
real mechanic! Every thing is a hammer 😅
Got this job coming up, thanks for the informative video
Very good video and great job. Thank you.
This was a great video very clear instructions thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great way to get it on 👏🏿👏🏿
Great videos by the way the trick using zip tie to put back the alternator belt is amazing. i gonna use it without a doubt!!!
Excellent, Thanks!
Very good video. Thank you
Glad you liked it, thank you

Possibly, this tool i have been using for years and it worked well so far, if i come across another tool, maybe will make another video
bro, this was an amazing video. keep up the great work. How many hours would you say this took you?
With filming takes longer, but average you can do this under 4h
Great video
Only one thing try to get slack on the tensioner side not other :) apart that all fine
As bottom puleey spins freely i think it doesnt make much difference, but on most other cars definetly slack has to be on tensioner side! Thanks

Hi and thank you, yes they all are pretty much same you may find some extra wire or bracket here and there, but the timing belt area gonna be same.

On this just impact gun
Thanks, I am just using impact gun as well
Would recomend to use after breaker bar or bigger ratcher to confirm that the bolt is tight enough!
Yes...I did but it won't move anymore and I just reuse the bolt since the local dealers need to take a week for delivering.
That aux belt is doneeee
Agree, i informed customer, in reply i got he will do that next time!
Hiii i need to change the timing belt do you thick is better to change the water pump as well?

From amazon should be okay

Does the timing effect a no start?(2016 Ford fiesta se hatchback)
Also, the alternator there acts as a belt tensioner. Loosen it first leaving the 3rd bolt on bottom slightly loose and easily take belt off and on.
❤
Check the timing on it, it might have skipped a tooth or so. If timing is off you'll get issue with starting. Do you have check engine light on?
@@mateuszkolacki1704 had one before I did the waterpump job. 😂
Thx for confirming. I had assumed as well it may have jumped timing. But wasn't sure that was a thing

where can i buy that exact puller you are using bud
On ebay
SATRA Universal Puller Ribbed Drive Pulley Cranckshaft Auxiliary Remover Tool
That`s not a 1.6 engine.
Yes, my bad its 1.2 😅 thanks!
