MESSI should win. To conquer the World in every 4 good years is not the same as only European nations champions leaque held annually.
Obviously Haaland knows how to score goals. He outclasses Messi there. But there's SO MUCH MORE to the game than goals, and I think Messi has Haaland beat in every single other category. His performance in the WC alone was nothing short of incredible and deserves the ballon d'or for that alone DESPITE his many other achievements. For me, it's Messi. If it goes to Haaland because he broke a goal scoring record, so be it - but in my opinion Messi would be robbed.

Where are Haaland's solo goals, free kicks? All of his 53 goals were inside the box except for one. Still, he's very good. He should get golden shoe.
