Tiki taka is football to the highest technical degree and yet the most misunderstood one sometimes called "boring". Anyone that has played football and/or watched football to a good knowledgeable level knows how difficult it is to pull of certain first touches, shielding, awareness of the opponents press, pass accuracy, create space or use the little space there is. All these things added up to unlock even the toughest of defences. It's actually more of a science/maths than an art. It's beautiful.
I always enjoyed it even as a kid. If you shall try to show football as an art, to a non football watcher. i think that the Barca team from 08-12 was the absolute preak of the beautiful game. most will agree or they have a small spectre of what art is. In my opinion.

Tiki- taca is trully not effective anymore because the rising of high-pressure trend (since 2016)
All team in this time took the wrong way to play against tiki taca : sit back too deep and passivity waiting.
If opponent teams play with the very-high defend-block and make high-pressure ( like prime Klopp'sLiverpool), i think tiki-taka will be not effective like this.
Now so many many teams can play high-press at every European top leagues. Pep is not stupid man. But now he known that tiki taca will not work anymore. So he didn't try it anymore at Man City.

Tiki-taka masters will pass you to death and control the game even easier if you try to waist your energy. This is the reason they parked the bus vs chasing the wind. Typical example was the final in London vs Man. United / 3:1 for Barca/. United tried to press but it lasted 15-20 minutes and they were DONE .
