    Dear Sir, I enjoyed your video, on my bike I used the zippers RS 468 Cam. I was not getting the full benefit of the cam until I got rid of the FP3. That was a great stage one tuner but when I came to going with a stage two it was just lacking. I finally bit the bullet and got a professional tune. I got full performance and torque out of my bike it really woke it up. I also got most of my fuel economy back. And as far as low speed maneuvering it was not even noticeable. Good luck keep up the good work.

      @IronBornRider  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Appreciate it John. Yeah I know the fp3 isn’t ideal. I should’ve budgeted a dyno tune into the cost of it all. It’ll happen at some point. Thanks for watching and ride safe!

    I was have istall in the start 475 cam in my street glide with a program fron dyno jet and the fuel efficiency was tragic( 220 klm)but the bike was like a rocket.I keep it for a year and i change it with the 465.The best move!(380klm)fuel efficiency and a very good torque.I istall and a primary chain tensioner from PSR,and in the low rpm the bike goes great and the gears goes more smoothly.I am very happy with it.

    • @ryanridesmoore

      im thinking of doing the same. i lost about 25% fuel efficiency with my 475. i like the torque at low RPM so im thinking of going 465 too. glad ai saw your comment.

    ……You don’t buy a Low Rider S for fuel efficiency to begin with !
    475 cam is one of the best torque cams for M8 Harleys with just a stage 2
    There is a channel - Moonshine Harley Davidson . They have been creating and recording a new “ Performance Bible “ for M8 Harleys, for the past several years ! 👌👍💪

    I have the same bike with 475 cam and you need to get it Dyno tuned. It will improve your fuel efficiency and throttle response all the way through the rpm range. I also gained over 10hp and ft of torque over the Dyno jet canned map after the Dyno tune. Your leaving a lot on the table if your just using a canned map.

    I have the 475 on my 114 Fatboy running a Screamin Eagle Ventilator Extreme intake and a Vance and Hines 2 into 1 ProPipe. Tuner is a FP3 and had a couple of maps sent my way from V&H. It pulls hard and to me runs damn well. No dyno and I am getting upper 40s if I am just riding it normal and not twisting it out a lot. I had thought I may be missing something by not getting a Power Vision and a dyno tune but I already had the FP3 when I first installed the Short Shots no cam. I don’t think I want to spend another 1500 bucks when to me it’s pretty damn good as it is. Nice bike you have 👍 Ride safe and be aware, here in SC our drivers don’t know what a red light is. 😳

    No one usually tells you the cons
    Its normal to lose the fuel economy
    Yea it pulls like a monster when you have open roads you can open the throttle and ride hard
    But in most traffic areas or everyday riding its not nice
    Takes too long to build power before the next turn comes up, takes off slow off the lights, and is terrible around slow corners or roundabouts, you always have to pull the clutch or feather it to not lug the bike
    I found i had to always ride a gear lower revving loud as hell just to have the power readily available that i was wanting
    Rather a pain in the ass and that was in a breakout i couldnt imagine in a tourer..
    I honestly enjoyed the s/e torque cam better but obviously the 475 sounded better and had more power up top
    I think a nice aftermarket torque cam like a fueling or s&s 465 would be the perfect inbetween and is the route ill go next time for everyday use😂
    In saying all that i did still love it and glad i tried it out for some time, it does have character and im sure lots love it but just didnt suit my riding style

    • @IronBornRider
      @IronBornRider  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Really good point and I agree 100%. I noticed that I’m clutching a lot more during slow speeds to smooth out the bike which isn’t ideal. Getting caught in traffic now is so much more painful because the cam wants to just let loose haha. I’m still enjoying the cam overall, we’ll see how it fares over time.

      What if you went with the Powervision? Can the low speed issues being fixed? And can you describe how its horrible. Does it seem like the bike wants to stall on you at low speeds while manuvering?etc. Thanx!!

      @@andrewwatt8726 I’ve read that with a dyno tune you can smooth out the throttle response a bit. At lower rpm you have to make sure to give it more gas than you typically would or else it feels like it’ll stall

    CR/APE 483 sounds better, and I walk 475s all day. Got 125hp/135tp on the dyno with the SPC Big bore and V&H VO2 Falcon

    I am not hearing anything significant about this cam. It’s basically a cam change and a tune.

      A good, drop in torque cam. Nothing kuch to it. It is the best sounding cam upgrade for a 107 or 114, in my opinion.

    FP3 is trash. Complete waste of money. Thundermax or Power Vision are the only options. You're leaving ALL of the performance on the table by not having a dyno tune using either of those.

      @IronBornRider  Před 8 měsíci

      But why is the fp3 trash? No one could ever give me a detailed answer other than “it’s trash”. I actually would like to know

      @kenster007 Před 6 měsíci +1

      It's not. They don't sell millions because they are trash. They work just fine with a stage 1 upgrade. That being said, after a cam swap there is no substitute for a dyno/tune at a good shop by a knowledgeable tuner. @@IronBornRider

    I have a 22 Road glide ST and run a 475, injectors, turbo etc now, pretty built up..
    What you are experiencing is normal power increase and fuel decrease, you are also experiencing a major tuning issue. When my bike had a Dynajet it, the bike would chop and run like an old school dual cammed bike that’s hopped. It should not run that much chop with this small cam, after a proper Dyno tune you are then finding out that you have been starving your bike and hurting the poor thing. Get it healthy, it will run a lot better.
