-  This tutorial is all about creating the one-off statement piece with a little bit of surprise and delight…. Quite often I choose To give my furniture pieces a flat finish on the outside but a little bit of something special going on in the interior of the piece, Bureaus are the most perfect project for this look so when I said about creating my very own home office this piece of furniture was the perfect option for me.
When I found this piece of furniture I knew it had great bones and was screaming for a little bit of Colour so I decided to mix a custom blend of chalk paint creating my very own Burnt orange/terracotta, Also I chose my surprise and delight using IOD Paint in lies So follow my journey step-by-step in my quest to create A pared back simple modern take on sophistication…… Who said the home office Had to be boring!!!

Reminds me of the old iron beds from my childhood. The layers give it such weight and depth. So beautiful. I can see it made up with crisp white sheets and a cozy coverlet.

Yes, it’s not fun painting in all of those covers a lot of bureaus. You can take the back off and remove the covers, but this one was glued in so it never got that treatment had to go round the long way. 🥴😊😊😊

I wish you would consider redoing the big bright green cabinet with some of the new products, transfers, molds etc. The big plain cabinet just doesn’t fit with your more refined tastes. Please think about it.
