- In this tutorial you will join me on a journey on how I took a very traditional looking sidetable and flipped it into using chalk paint and decoupage paper to create a Bohemian finish.
Throughout the process you will see create the look using some of my basic methods Plus how I cross a few hurdles along the way every piece of furniture has its own quirks and with this one it was all about covering up the old leather and getting the perfect embedded look as if the découpage had always been there.
As always I know my tutorials are long but I’m hoping they will come of use to all that take the time to follow the journey if there’s anything that seems to be missed off, please give me a shout in the comments I will do my best always to answer, thank you once again for joining me x

Jonathan, I agree. Gorgeous decoupage design. Hope they turn it into a regular item. This faux sanding back using black/brown color I have used myself on mdf mandala wall decor and some metal wall decor. It looks the same and it's less work. Ha, ha.

I love the paper, actually it is the one I love more than any I have seen. I would by it and make a table like you. I have table like that but no leather. I WANT THIS PAPER!!!!

Just watched this video on my TV 📺 which unfortunately doesn’t have more detailed information other than the ability to like, subscribe or save ( which I did ) So I lunged for my iPad in hope to find the link to purchase the absolutely stunning decoupage paper featured. To say it’s a disappointment to discover it’s not available is a massive understatement. I’m gutted 🤯😫😢 I’d just mentally planed my entire bedroom around the stunning soft etherial watery explosion of colour. Hi Jon - Love this little table- very sweet. My personal preference would be for no distressing, and your original plan for gilding. However, that being said the paper is absolutely superb, and your work as always is so beautiful and creative. The colours are 'my colours' and I'm always a huge fan of blues too. I so enjoy watching you change your mind and try new things and stretch your creative self- you're such an inspiration....and I love your openness to trying different styles.
