Unless it's a family heirloom, don't give it back to him
A gift is a gift no matter how he feels about you now
As an artist I have an entire shoebox of paint chips. I always collect them for paper art. I should make myself a color guide for shopping.
They are such a great material for artistsâŠI always feel inspired just looking at them
@@studiobonvon exactly! I think Iâm a summer. Cool but muted. So soft summer or true summer maybe. I havenât had my colors done, but I gravitate to the same colors all my life it seems.
This is as well made as a skillshare class. Wow
Haha thank you đâš
I agree that Winter Cool suits you! You definitely seem to border Summer Cool. I think overall Summer is a bit too light and wouldn't fit as your season, but your ideal shades might be the lighter end of Winter and the Darker end of Summer.
I think she is Summer Cool, it is more harmonious.
Yep, I was thinking Cool Summer or Cool Winter which is softer than True Winter and Cool Summer is clearer than True Summer. Iâm a True Winter.
Great video! Very well executed explanation. Thanks for your content. (Also, who asks for a gift back? âŠ.so petty!)
I think summer cool looks better for you. It brightens up your complexion. I feel like winter cool drags you down a little bit. I have heard before that it is better to have someone else do your analysis bc you will always be biased. You may gravitate toward a certain color but color analysis should be based on what it does to your skin and not based on how much you like the color. Excellent video. Thanks so much.
I think you're a cool summer, your eyes are very grayed & your lips have softness in them (and blend into your skin tone), your skin isn't crisp and clear like a winters, it has an ashy quality. True summer has quite bright colours, the ones you held up for summer were more soft summer, which is too gray for you. The winter colours don't seem to make your eyes pop or bring out their colour as the right colours would. The black eyeliner feels intense and distracting too! However your blended lip look looks wonderful
I really thought she was a summer from the start, but when she did the cards, it was a close call.
Wow. I think a trip to Home Depot is in my future. Thanks for explaining it so concisely!
Absolutely!!! So glad to hear youâre gonna give it a go!! đš
I agree with your conclusion. Plus, the commenters who think you are summer, their screens may be showing the colors slightly different than my screen(s) and what you see in real life. For example, I paused the video on 23:15 and both the swatch cards look greener and softer on my iPhone compared to bluer and brighter on my iPad.
Yes - I agree that there might be some discrepancies with peopleâs screens. HOWEVER Iâm starting to think there might be something to this whole Summer Cool thing that people are noticing. Either way, Iâm going to be on the border of summer/winter, but maybe I can steal more from summer than I originally thought. Personally, I think my best colors are probably somewhere in between the twoâŠ
â@@studiobonvonor you could be a true cool maybe which is halfway between winter/summer đ just a thoughâ€
â @@studiobonvon If you are on the border between 2 cool sub seasons, do you really have to choose? Why not pick your favorite and occasionally borrow from your second choice? At least they are both cool!
25:32 this middle shade of blue/green is definitely the best of you from my pov. The more intense one I agree that is a more beautiful shade, but I definitely notice the swatch before I notice your eyes with that one.
Oh my gosh, I totally agree. I love that color!
Can't believe your ex asked for the earrings back!
Haha đ donât worry, I was probably going to replace them with silver anyway
Not really, if it was something expensive and they are not together anymore... imagine if those would be a family thing, like from the grandma or the like, you might want to have them back.
Great video! Great explanations! I will try this. what a great reference. BTW- sounds like you dodged a bullet with the boyfriend... only a stinky person will ask for a gift back eeww!
Glad to hear it was helpful!! Feel free to find me on Insta @studiobonvon to share your results, Iâd be really interested to see how it works for you! And about the earrings đ đâŠ. weâll just leave it there
Iâve been obsessed with colour analysis for years and consumed way too much content on it but this was one of the most thorough and easy to follow videos Iâve seen. Thank you! Excited to see your upcoming content with your winter cool colours! đ
Oh my gosh, thank you for saying so!! đ€ And yes, expect lots of winter cool sewing projects from this point on đ
Maybe I'm biased, but I really think you are more a summer than a winter. I believe the softer tones are giving more "richness" to your skin. But, in the end, we need to wear clothes that we like in colors that please us :-). You definitely deserve more attention and more like, your videos are entertaining, crafty and well thought! It is nice to see a real design process.
I feel the same!
I disagree...her eyes totally popped with the Winter colors.
@@cassandrabrecht8974 Yes, that's how she made the error. Skin comes first. The intense winter colors were too dark for her skin. My eyes also pop with intense Winter colors, but I'm a Light Spring. Some professionals say cover the eyes when you do the analysis, because blue eyes in particular are misleading.
I found this to be a good presentation and overview of color analysis. Personally, I thought the cool summer colors harmonized better too. You could go a bit deeper in that range because of your level of contrast. I have similar coloring and was initially typed as a winter 40+ years ago but was retyped a few years later as a summer. I found the soft but still rich summer colors work best with my skin tone. The paint chips are a good starting point but I would still purchase a complete palette - there are many available on Amazon. I think you might see a significant difference with the cool summer red than the paint chip you chose to represent it. It's sometimes called a jewel toned summer palette and the colors are still rich but just a bit softer than the cool winter. Thanks for making this, I'll check out your other videos.
â@@cassandrabrecht8974her skin was also brighter with winter but she has summer influences so I think cool winter đ
This was like a comprehensive course! Great job on clearly explaining this & love the paint chip concept!
Thank you!! I was worried it would be too technical and dry, but I really wanted to make a good reference guide that people could come back to đ©đ»âđ
@@studiobonvonI agree with @fiberandfox - this feels like a comprehensive course. But it is not just because of the info. Itâs also because of your process. You take time to explain your journey through comments along the way. You ask questions, then answer them, the look at it a different way, then ask another question. Yet you always get to a decision you can defend and donât get stuck in analysis paralysis. So the video feels like it can be a guide for my own questions.
Your explanation in the beginning was so much easier to understand than any of the others I've watched. And watching you go through the analysis was really interesting. I'm going to give it a go. I've never been able to quite figure out what actually looks good on me
Also, you have really nice skin and I think you're quite pretty without makeup. You have nice contrast in your features and makeup isn't necessary to accentuate them. Just my opinion tho
Oh thank you so much for saying so đ Really glad to hear you found this helpful! Find me on Insta @studiobonvon if youâd like to share your results, Iâd love to see how it works for you đ
I would say very pretty, without makeup!
Definitely a cool summer, even your hair and skin has some grey to it, and summer cool is the most intense out of the summer palette, although you're definitely close to winter.
I think everything of the summer cool palette looked amazing on you (except for the really light ones), but only a few softer cool winter colors looked good. The shirt you were wearing at the end looks stunning on you. In case you prefer winter, makeup (blush, lipstick. mascara) helps to increase intensity.
Great video by the way!
I think you're wrong about blue. It may be true in colour theory that red is pure warm, but in skin colour analysis, orange is pure warm (also why there's no cool orange, while there is a cool red). The opposite of orange is indigo. Cooler blue is closer to indigo, and warmer blue is further towards indigo, trending towards green.
This fits with the seasons. An autumn or spring is going to have an easier time wearing a tealy blue because it harmonises with the golden tones in their skin.
Agreed. People get too stuck on an individual colour, whereas a season is a pallette and a type of harmony of all its colours taken together, basically all colours within a season should match, and the artistic ways of finding harmonious colours (opposites, triangles, squares on the colour wheel) will inevitably (especially if you are a high contrast season) get you to a colour that is not strictly your season. Colour analysis is a more empiric tool, some things are just observable facts and still waiting for the theory to catch up)
Yes, I am a winter and I have always disliked teal but I know many Autumns who wear it all the time.
This is the clearest explanation of color theory and analysis I've seen. Great job.
Even from the beginning of this video, I imagined those clear bright "jewel" colors on you, and knew right away that you are a "winter"! Amazing video, you are a very thorough and systematic person who does in-depth research for the subject. And you are able to make complex things looking fun and easy! Kudos, I am sure you will be able to follow your calling of an artist with great success in the future.
Finally I found someone doing this who has my coloring! Thank you. This solidified my pallete for me!
Youâre so welcome đ
I loved your color journey, much more affordable than a color consult. The little book is so cute!
Thank you! đ€đž
This was so fun! My husbandâs coloring is similar to yours, dark hair and blue eyes, but his skin color is deeper than yours and eye color more intense. I agree with your analysis. Because your contrast is greater than his, the saturation of the colors makes a difference. He can wear the darker colors that overwhelm your coloring. This was so interesting to me! I think you should use your cool summer colors in accessories, like dots of color in a scarf. As for me, I am an autumn, and I prefer the deeper colors, but I never did an analysis to the degree that you have done. I might just try it!
Red is not the warmest color, its actually neutral. Blue is cool, yellow is warm, red is neutral. This is why true orange (between warm and neutral) is only suited for warm toned people. The trick of adding yellow or blue, only works for the primary colours: yellow and blue makes green, which makes the yellow cooler (or the blue warmer), etc.
And where can we find the video from this expert who seems to have all the answers?
Correction, the only neutral red is True Red, a very particular colour, finely tuned so it doesn't veer too warm (yellow in the mix) or too cool (too much blue added); it can be warm by most people. Blues can veer warm if they have some green added, so turquoise and teal are warm. Cooler yellows have a lot of white in them and veer cool and slightly sharp. I trained in art and design and have several postgraduate degrees, so this is one of the few areas of life, that I know what I am talking about!
Agree. She misses how colors are moving towards the yellow direction when they become warm and towards blue on the color wheel to become cool. Like purples with more red are warm because that direction bring them closer to yellow. And this is really great with Pure Hues. True Red or hex #ff0000 moved closer to yellow to get the pure hue #ff3c00 makes a warm red. Closer to blue like the pure hue #ff0048 makes a cool red. However, when we create more "complex" colors by tinting (lightening colors or adding white), shading (darkening colors or adding black), and/or toning colors (desaturating or adding gray), temperature get's complicated.
Soft or toned purple DOES NOT always get gray when you add yellow. Sometimes it can turn brown. And we don't add that much yellow to make a color become gray or brown fully but enough to change the temperature. Brown-purples are generally autumn colors and gray-purples summer. Clarity, temp, and value go hand in hand. Pure hues vs tones or tints vs shades can change how we should approach temperature. I wish she gave the full scope of the context needed and not just the context useful for the more pure hues. She's a winter so maybe she doesn't need it but softer seasons need the full nuance!
I think there is a distinction that needs to be made here between color theory (i.e. from the world of art) and color analysis. There seem to be some tricks on how to classify colors that are specific to color analysis (for fashion and design) that don't quite fit with color theory. But look, I'm not an expert! I'm just a humble artist who has spent years mixing paint!
Jane - thank you for mentioning all of this for the people who really want to get into it! I'm sorry if my overview wasn't thorough enough - I'm well aware that color theory is MUCH more complex than what I tried to sum up in my video. I didn't want my audience to lose interest by getting too technical - because it's not really the point of the video. I really just wanted to explain the basics of warm vs. cool (and apparently I messed up that part too! i.e. warm vs cool blue). I don't know if I'll do another video going into detail about the intricacies of color theory - but thank you for putting this here for other people to find!
This was an amazing explanation of color theory. I love the idea of using the paint chips! Thank you for all of your work in this video!
The undertone test screamed cool the entire way through. It was very interesting how much the cool just popped and made you glow. The darker pink perfectly matched your lips and the lighter pink you could see in the undertone of your skin. I think your most noticeable trait is cool. I liked the cool summer on you just a bit better than the cool winter. To me the slightly softer colors enhanced your features more, while the winter colors pulled away from them ever so slightly. Either way they both looked fab on you!
Interesting! Before I did the test my guess was that I would be a summer, but testing the other subgroups and stuffâŠtheyâre just way too light for me. HoweverâŠI think there are some secret colors in-between summer and winter that Iâm going to try to findâŠ!
The cool colours brightens your skin
Ma'am! The detail and time you are putting into these videos!! I feel like I'm spamming my girl group chat with them at this point. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us
Oh my gosh this is the sweetest compliment, thank you!! đđ·
I like the summer palette on you.
When you held up the Summer Cool strip of colors, it just lit up your face! Def lucky that both Winter and Summer Cool really flatter your coloring!
So glad you've posted again! Love your channel!
I love this video and watching along as you determined your best colors with color swatches. Your presentation of this and how you used the paint chips for color draping was brilliant. I also love the idea of hole punching your best colors onto a keyring and taking the little punch out circles and putting them onto it. Very clever!
ooo i loved this! i'll have to give it a try tbh. what i loved about this was you honestly looked great in all the colors but it was crazy how much it changed your "vibe"
Really nice job with this video! I do agree with the other posters, though, who think you're a Summer (I would say either True or Cool). Those softer colors really harmonize so well with your skin. In fact, you seem to have surrounded yourself with those softer colors to make the video!
I'm a (True?) Winter myself, and I really NEED more intense colors to look vibrant, and I don't see that happening with you. But of course this is just based on what I'm seeing on my screen, so ymmv!
You might be on to something! đ€
Before beginning the analysis, I initially thought you matched the "summer" profile. However, during the analysis (before the sub-season), I started to lean towards "summer cool." I believe you have a medium level of intensity. This was a very good video overall. As a bright winter, people's reactions towards the vibrant colours always amuse me.I don't see many examples of people in bright palettes. Unfortunately, when I do see them, they are usually Spring types or celebrities (so unverified).
What an awesome idea!! I have been obsessed with color season analysis lately, and I think I know my season based on what clothes look good on me, but I am excited to get some swatches from a hardware store to compare and contrast. I would have never thought to do that, so thanks for the idea!
Thank you so much for this! I always knew I was an autumn, but now I realized Iâm a warm autum. This explains why I was also drawn to some of the colors in warm spring! âșïžđđ«¶
You are so welcome đ€ Iâm so happy to hear this helped you find your subgroup!! đđ
This was such a fun and informative watch! I am glad CZcams recommended this to me despite never watching any of those âcolor analysisâ videos before đ (I was always interested but I figured there was lo point since I couldnât schedule an appointment for one lol).
My only question was if you were a cool winter or a cool summer. Or straight up cool.
But you are definitely on the right path- your college major did not hurt you doing this!
girl, you're a cool summer
AFter watching this, I think you are a Summer Cool. I prefer the softer colors, because the winter colors overwhelm your skin. I think you love those colors for a good reason.
I am a Winter Bright, we have silmilar coloring but I have lighter skin, darker lips and eyebrows. So, more contrast. I love orange and lime green so your explanation about bright spring really clarified that for me. I have a lime green bag I use a lot, it is a nice pop of color. I loved your overview of color and all the paint cards, the differences in tones are so subtle, your examples were very enlightening!
Iâm so glad to hear this helped explain why you can steal some of those bright, warmer colors! I was really hoping this video would be clear enough that it could be applied to any season, so this is great to hear!
You did a really good job with this analysis; it's really hard to be objective about yourself. I agree that you're fully cool, I'm just not quite sure about Winter Cool. It's quite harmonious, but some of its colors are slightly overpowering on you, so I have a feeling you may actually be a Summer Cool that can borrow from Winter Cool. Many Summer palettes have slightly darker colors than some of the ones you picked, for instance the True Color International palette does (it's called True Summer in their 12 season system, but it's still fully cool). Some systems, like Carol Brailey's system also have a type called True Cool, which means you're fully cool and you're in between Cool Summer and Cool Winter. Still, you did an awesome job with the analysis and I enjoyed watching it!
Good job. Great tip to look at how the lip color changes next to various colors.
This is the best video so far everything is explained so well!đđđ»
Wow, congratulations!đ This is probably the best colour analysis video I've seen in my whole life - and believe me, I've seen so, so many of them ...!
A huge thank you! đ
Next step, how to build your own me-made wardrobe based on your colors! We are here for the journey!
How did you guess?? đ Thank you so much for the support, it means a lot to me! âšđ·
You did a great job looking at which colours suit you. But keep in mind there are plenty of other factors to consider such as a) where on your body you're wearing the item, b) how large the item is, and how much of the colour is showing compared to how much skin is showing, and what other colours you are wearing c) what actual season it is (we all tend to wear lighter and brighter colours and fabrics in summer) d) how old you are and your general personality (are you an over-the-top person or fairly understated?).
I personally don't get fixated with the seasons system, just look at which colours suit me. And that has definitely changed over the years.
BTW, your ex is a loser for asking for the earings back (a gift is a gift!), but you can definitely wear gold jewellery. Just pair it with other colours that suit you.
This was super helpful! I want to try it out too. It has been so hard for me to figure out my color season. Compared to you Iâm warmer, but I always thought I was cool and purples and greens are my favourite colors. I think Iâm neutral in temperature and thatâs why itâs very hard for me to find my colors so trying your version would probably help âșïž now I just have to find paint chips. Have you looked into David Zylaâs color system? I like it better because it has more range of colors from light to deep and I think all the colors that harmonise with you are considered good colors and they can be a mix of warmer and cooler colors because they have different colors effects so are used in different circumstances. Because itâs not so heavily reliant on cool vs warm I like it more âșïž
Can you add the list of the Winter Seasonal Palette colors like the other seasons? Super excited to give this a whirl.
This is brilliant summary thankyou I have recently grabbed a load of paint chips myself and I also felt like I was doing something naughty đ I do think you are a winter, but I recommend having a look at a video by style me Jen on the 16 season palette which looks at deep summer & soft winter the extra category added to the 12 season - I think it may answer a couple of the depth questions. đ very helpful video thank you
This is an awesome video! Thank you for sharing your color expertise with those of us with an untrained eye! Would love to know if and how to apply this to makeup!
Pretty interresting experience! Now, I have to sneak into my hardware store to take all the sample...
Siobhan I am a Canadian thanking you for your incredible video on helping us discover our own color palette. Your idea of using free paint chips from the hardware store is pure genius! I deeply appreciate your time and effort in making this. I eagerly look forward to more color analysis videos in the future! As per your ex's request, you are the bigger person in giving the earrings back. Why would you want to keep the earrings as a reminder of him anyway?
This was a great video! Excellent explanation of determining your warm and cool undertones, honestly that part alone should be a training video for people getting into color analysis.
And dont worry about people in the comments arguing about yellow vs. red being the more warm color, which means they argue about whether a green-blue is warm vs. a purple-blue is warm. It seems this is a dispute in even the rest of the art world! Personally I really like your explanation of why red is warmer than yellow--because its further away from blue on the light spectrum. (When I heard this I thought, FINALLY! This feels like actual evidence rather than just "feelings" and differing opinions!)
When we get down to it, the spring pallete has both green-blues and purple-blues of varying intensities, so a warm-toned pallet isnt even always dictated by ONLY "warm" colors. There's so much nuance!
this is already my favorite video on color analysis. I'd love it if you could find someone with a warm undertone to analyse, especially someone whose season is autumn as I'm pretty sure I'm an autumn đ
Thank you so much!! đ· Iâll see what I can doâŠperhaps Iâll make a follow up in the future
So helpful! I'm planning my trip to go pick up paint chips to do it myself. Would you be able to post the list of the winter seasonal palette as well?
Agree with cool. Winter cool! Great video!
Winter cool for the win! đŁđ”đą
LOVE this video. Thank you! Iâm off to Lowes to rake through color chips!!
Haha yesss!! Good luck and feel free to share your results with me on Insta @studiobonvon!!! đ·
Excellent video. I think it's funny how we can see the colors in others (I knew you were a winter immediately) but so difficult to see it in ourselves. This is a great and inexpensive way to experiment. Thanks for the great video.
Glad you found it helpful!! âš I actually thought I was a summer originally, and I probably could have figured out winter pretty easily, but itâs the subgroups that I really had no clue about
Cool summer for u. Your one of the traditional easy to spot season.đ
Yep, that was my instant reaction. The intense colors overwhelmed her.
Ive been testing my coloring with paint chips for years!đđ But, nothing as in depth as your method. I too feel a little sheepish đ about it, but free is freeđ
My skin is olive, so it gets pretty complicated. I dont fit neatly into one season. But, closest to dark winter, most likely. Thanks for all your time in making this video.
Ps. Love the cool colors on you.đ
It's also not about the colors u like.its what they do to your skin.
Definitely cool summer.
I am twenty minutes in, and I was extremely skeptical of this "color theory" nonsense, honestly thought it was a bit silly. I prefer just to wear whatever colors I like... until I realized that I'm pretty sure I was, and am, selecting my favorite colors based on this color theory in my head. Color me impressed (ha!) I am totally starting to get why people do this. It's a great reference point. And you can make and break these rules as you please, I'm sure.
I agree with you on the brighter colors in the intensity test. While my eyes are drawn to the brighter colors, they immediately go to the rest of your face, and everything is very vibrant and fun to look at. Whereas the dull color I go to your face because there is nowhere else to go. And even then it's not asking me to stay.
Haha Iâm glad to hear that this convinced you! đ I think youâre right about breaking the rules too - Iâm going to try to bring in other colors that arenât âtechnicallyâ part of my palette but I think will work. As they sayâŠyou have to know the rules in order to break them though!! I was skeptical when I first came across it too, but coming from an art background I knew how important color theory can be and how the right colors (at least in art) can make a HUGE difference, so I stuck with it and Iâm glad I did đ
I'd say you are more of a cool summer over cool winter, but since they are neighbors it doesn't really matter. I found my colors by comparing myself to the celebrities given as an example and then went by textbook definition. I narrowed it to cool, but from veins figured I'm more neutral cool and from there it was pretty easy to land at soft summer(only summer palette I'm ok with toođ). I borrow from soft autumn also a bit
Cool undertone âșïž
Ooh, could you teach us how to make a fan deck of color chips? My downfall would be trying to organize them
Loved this! Is there a list for Winter colors as a season (not deep, bright or cool specifically)?
You are definitely Winter yes (you could know it from the start based on the contrast between your dark hair ans light skin đ)
Wow, super good video, very helpfull and visually pleasing â€
Glad you found it helpful! đ
I didn't need to see your swatch testing to know you're a winter, but I enjoyed your DIY approach.
Thank you đ I know dark hair/blue eyes is a winter clicheâŠbut Iâm glad I confirmed it đ
So well done! Love your animations, also. I've always felt like I straddle warm and cool because of my red hair versus pale cool pink undertoned skin w freckles.
Yes! Iâve seen this combo before and Iâve always wondered how an analysis would go. I think a lot of people assume that just because you have red hair, you automatically have a warm undertone, but Iâm pretty sure there are redheads with cool undertones too!! Tbh it would probably be a bit of a complementary color effect and be a vibrant POP
@@studiobonvon Absolutely! I think with all of this colour analysis stuff, it's just important to know so that you know the effect you're giving when you play with colours in your wardrobe. There's not really a right or wrong persay. Saturated colours tend to be "best" on me and I tend to go for warmer undertones to try to neutralize my ruddiness/pinkness, but it's also fun to play the "washed-out vamp" in black or white, let my hair do the talking and emphasize my paleness, for example.
I believe you're Summer Cool rather than Winter Cool. Summer Cool is medium intensity which in my opinion is what threw you off in the intensity phase of the analysis. Of course, this is just my personal opinion. Color Analysis Studio on CZcams has some really great in-depth analyis videos that use the same method you use with drapes (going from undertone to inensity to subgroup).
You need to do a friend who is a warm tone for comparison.
Yes this is a good ideaâŠmaybe Iâll do a follow up?
@@studiobonvonA follow up on a warm toned friend would be awesome! Iâm also an âobvious winter,â so it would be really helpful for me to see how cool tones look terrible on someone, as dumb as that sounds đ I just have a hard time conceptualizing it!
@@studiobonvon Yes please!
I actually might suggest checking out the Colour Analysis Studio channel here on CZcams! I learned a lot from watching their videos, they are actually experts (Iâm not) and they have lots of videos where they analyze all the different seasons!
As a deep winter, I think some of the colors you attributed to the subgroup are way too light/bright. I canât wear the blue, for instance. Itâs too intense to have enough contrast. Weâre the âtake a color, add blackâ more deep jewel tones group: emerald vs shamrock, sapphire vs cobalt, burgundy (not maroon, too warm) or garnet vs cherry red, aubergine vs violet, charcoal vs grey⊠Iâve recently branched out from my all-black wardrobe and added deep navy.
I was told, way back in the 80s, I was an autumn. #colorsthatmakemelookdead I sometimes wear deep autumn colors, but only as bottoms because âmaybe deadâ isnât really what Iâm going for. đ
Interestingly, I only wear brick red lipstick because cool toned and even neutral reds look fuchsia on me (hate), but the warmer reds skew to neutral. Iâm pretty sure thatâs because my undertone shows through the lipstick.
You look like you could be my doppelganger! I'm a bright winter.
Well done - my sister and I did our own color analysis and we are different seasons, so it was amazing to see the same color on each of our skin tones. Also, give the earrings back đđȘđ»đđ»
Yes! My mom and I have different undertones and itâs crazy to see how a color that looks great on her looks terrible on me đ
Definitely cool.
If u are all the way cool that means u share the cool winter also and it's not so much the intensity it's the temp, yours is all the way cool u can borrow from cool winter.
Cool winter , which means you have summer influences too as cool winter is halfway between summer and winter , hence the sister shade being called cool summer. Neither cool summer or cool winter will be terrible on you but I think you need a bit more intensity so cool.winter is best! â€
So funny, I think I am a warm spring so I have the same Logic as you used to determine your subgroup but inversed with warm and coolđ đ
I really enjoyed your video. I'm heading to Home Depot and I'll give it a try.
Great idea!! Iâm going to head over to Home Depot!!
Yesss!!! Best of luck, and feel free to share your results with me on Insta @studiobonvon! Have fun âš
Wow, this was incredibly informative and a really unique way of approaching colour analysis. How did you select the specific colours for each season and comparison?
U wouldn't fall in the deeps with your blue eyes, hello!
Iâm historically a redhead, but my hair has faded and gone white. My skin is neutral in the winter, and turns red very easily in the heat. Brown eyes with a hint of green- possibly due to wishful thinking. Iâm not sure what colors suit me anymore and you provide the perfect solution!! đđŒđŠ
You are gorgeous! Some people seem to think you are a summer rather than a winter, and there's another option that I heard from StyleMeJenn: a soft winter. Just to complicate things...
Yes!! I just saw this video posted. Iâm going to have to dig a little deeper I think đ
Oh! As a MUA, I was shocked when you said "This is not my best side" (golden earring, I assume it' s not mirrored so your actual left). Almost 100% of people prefer the face side where their eye + brow is placed higher. (Fun fact: ±80% is left / ±20% is right and it comes from the sphenoid bone' s tilt) but you didn' t. Your brain seems to prioritize and love the bigger eye and more spaceful lid instead. You belong to the majority (80% of "facial lefties") and to the minority (size over obliquity) at the same timeđ . Professional deformation at its finest, can' t help.

I find this video so interesting because you can really see the differences between colour seasons and actual color theory. It really didn't make sense for me why red is considered a neutral in colour seasons theory (maybe because skin always has some redness? idk) when red is otherwise considered the warmest colour. I also dislike that in colour seasons it is only talked about "best colours" without clearifying what the goal is. Colour seasons go for harmony, but other colour combinations with more contrast can look great as well, it just depends on what look you are going for. Which makes it harder for people to type themselves because they might prefer a less harmonious look on themselves.
So personally i have switched to actual colour theory and use the colours based on what vibe i want to give off. I go for more harmonious colours when i want to look more cute and feminine and i go for more contrasting colours if i want to look more confident and bold etc
You said "don't do this" but I want to đ
You are gorgeous!
Haha aww thank you âșïžâš

I was seeing it so that the warm undertones were making your skin look healthy, and the cool ones made the dark spots show more
Put some glasses on! đ
No way. I think you must've been looking at her overtone instead of the undertone. The warm colors made her skin look more yellow as opposed to a healthy golden glow a warm toned person would have.
@@dancingcorpses5750 Thanks, I didn't know there is something like an overtone. I think this is really hard to tell somehow. đ
This was fun! I try draping fabrics on myself and I'm pretty confident I'm an autumn but then I hesitate in knowing what colour is what subgroup. How do you know if for example this blue or that blue is cool/deep/bright winter? That's where I overthinking and throw in the towel đ
Oh my gosh yesâŠfiguring out the subgroup palettes took quite a while đ„Č itâs not the easiest to understand. I try to break it down into warm vs cool, and really pay attention to intensity and lightness/darkness. The easiest way to see the difference is to compare them! ie this blue is COOLER than that blue, this blue is LIGHTERâŠthen go from there đ
I was thinking more winter deep colours for you but the coolness of your features does seem more evident and makes more sense than the depth
I was sure she has a warm undertone
If you are still having problems determining your season/sub-season, also try using lipstick .đ It could totally help with a tiebreaker! It would have been very obvious that deep winter lipstick was not nearly as flattering as cool winter on her. But, the colors just placed up to her skin is way more subjective. I am a deep winter and if i tried wearing cool or bright lipstick on myself, i would look like a clown! đ€Ą
This is a good idea! I just wish I had a full palette of lipstick colors to experiment withâŠbut I donât đ
@@studiobonvon CVS allows you to return lipstick after trying it on at home I've done this numerous times. There is a CZcams channel called Color Class ,and they have a great video about lipstick color, entitled "perfect lipstick for your color palette ". They actually tell you the brand and color that coincides with your main color characteristics. Personally, I found it very useful. đ
first, i can't believe your ex asked for the earings back, you should sell and keep the money! now, how does one can be sure they are a true season, if the contrast and intensity play important parts? if you pick a soft color and it looks good, it can probably stretch to a certain deepness, not the deepest one... and if you had cards with flesh color in warm, cool and neutral, the last bit of comparison between subgroups of seasons would turn into skin color analysis and would be a really quick step. other than that, i loved how you did it, it's pretty accurate!
This is an interesting question. Iâm not sure if I completely understand but Iâll try to answer. You would find your season after doing the undertone tests (reds/pinks etc) then the intensity test will determine which season you are: Spring/winter = intense, autumn/summer = soft. If a color is soft, making it darker wonât make it deeper, it will still be soft. You will know if you are a true season because when you test all the subgroups for your season (example: autumn deep, autumn soft, and autumn warm) they will all look equally good, but when you go to test OTHER seasonsâ subgroups, none of them will work. Hope thatâs helpful?
@@studiobonvon okay, I get that, but I still can't make how you can look good in let's say all summers - it'll probably work if the contrast is kinda in the middle, I guess... cause the soft takes low to medium contrast, and the cool takes medium to a slight higher contrast... I'll take my example. I'm a soft summer, and I look better in more darker colors of the palette. The lighter ones make me look pale and my contrast is more towards medium. to look good in every summer, does it take in consideration all the colors or just a range of colors, like in my case?
Hereâs an example of an analysis of a true summer: m.czcams.com/video/qYEWR-EF04w/video.html Maybe that helps? Also, maybe take a look at the autumn soft palette and see how those colors look on you! It sounds like you arenât a true summer just based on your description
@@studiobonvon no, I'm not true summer, I'm soft summer! it was just an example, cause I was trying to figure it out! I'll take a look at the video you send here to see if I can make it make sense in my head! Thank you!!
I was certain for the longest time I was deep winter, but white doesn't suit me at all but black looks fine if a bit disconnected. I had a short color analysis done and it came out dark and warm, no wonder I prefer off whites on me, lol. The palette she proposed does feel a bit off though, I plan on dying my hair dark auburn in over a week I always assumed it wouldn't suit me at all but maybe it will
You are definitely Cool. You are clear. You are a Winter!
