    So glad you are rid of the cheapstake, tight wad boyfriend. I can understand asking for an engagement ring back (sort of) but not the GIFT of ear rings !!! I personally, would get a hammer and smash them both into a flat blob then send back in the tiniest envelope you can find, making sure that he has sent you a stamp to put on the envelope, so that you do not have to pay ANYTHING. Excellent video, loved it. x

    Ok, last comment 😂. Hou just answered the next questi8 had in my head. I've always been pretty sure I am a Deep Winter. I have cool, fair skin and dark brown hair. But, my eyes, while rich enough to keep me in the deep colors, are very warm. They are a warm hazel, with olive greens and warm ambers. And if I pick the right time, I love a deep autumn green on myself. Your explanation about borrowing from the neighboring palette answers the other question I've alhad which is what about if most of your features fall into one category, but one feature, like eye color are in a different temperature? Thank you for such an informative, but simplified video.

    Also, I am very fair and have never been able to tan. Years ago, when I was in my 20s, I was determined to give it all I had, and i visited a tanning salon (thank goodness it was short lived). They put me on daily 1 to 2 minute sessions. I used the little stickers to track my progress and after a summer of diligently working toward a tan, I did end up darker, I suppose, but the color was more of a gray than a bronze. I do have a photo from that time period that I look more bronze in (although still very light), but in person, it was very gray. I had never heard someone speak about the membrane under your skin and the color you tan.

    I am only 12 minutes in and this is already the most helpful video on cool vs earn I have ever seen. I am pretty sure I have a cool undertone, but have oy ever been able to identify the most obvious cool vs warm colors. We get into cool vs warm shades of purples or reds or blues and I am lost. I always get it wrong. Your clarification that warm vs cool isn't about me yellow or blue, but about which direction it is going on the color wheel in relation to the colors next to it is the most clear explanation I've ever heard. I'm sure I have watched videos that v explained this topic, but it was probably too complicated and I ended up feeling lost in the weeds. I am sure I will still struggle a little, but this is the best starting point reference I have come across.

    Your ex is a cheap jerk. I'm glad he's out of your life. Can you imagine giving a gift but really secretly thinking it is a loan?! Even if he's so poor he's literally living in a box, he has no claim on a GIFT he gave. What a cheap churlish putz.

    Don’t worry about your earrings, they’re too small to make a difference, it’s not like a statement necklace. (Well those are going away anyway, but in case you have other gold earrings you like).

    I did this with colored cards from Amazon. They were 4x6 cards. Did it online using an app and eventually did it professionally. Answers turned out consistent. I turned out deep winter. I have a large amount of gold jewelry because I have brown skin and I was really upset to be told it doesn’t work for me. So I also did it with cloth swatches on Amazon because I was in denial. I’m not giving up my gold jewelry.

    I had you as a pure, beautiful winter the moment your face popped up, yet found it fascinating to watch the process that lead to that conclusion! Your coulour range is what I wish that I could pull off, but being such a natural blonde that eyebrows and even lashes are blonde, I had to settle for summer.

    I find the easiest way to tell if a Color works for me is to hold the item up and see where my eyes go. If I tend to look at the garment and not my face, the color doesn't suit me. If my eyes want to look at my face, then the color is good.

    The paint chip idea is GENIUS. I’m already pretty certain of my season (via draping with clothes stolen from my husband and children 🤣), but I will absolutely be doing this anyway and setting up a little kit to analyze all my friends 😆 I just adore colors, literally wrote a thesis on color theory in college (which I’m now realizing is longer ago than I think it is), this is the obvious next step on my color-obsessed journey.

    You did a really good job with this analysis; it's really hard to be objective about yourself. I agree that you're fully cool, I'm just not quite sure about Winter Cool. It's quite harmonious, but some of its colors are slightly overpowering on you, so I have a feeling you may actually be a Summer Cool that can borrow from Winter Cool. Many Summer palettes have slightly darker colors than some of the ones you picked, for instance the True Color International palette does (it's called True Summer in their 12 season system, but it's still fully cool). Some systems, like Carol Brailey's system also have a type called True Cool, which means you're fully cool and you're in between Cool Summer and Cool Winter. Still, you did an awesome job with the analysis and I enjoyed watching it!

  • @Shetooktothewoods
    @Shetooktothewoods Před 4 dny

    As a deep winter, I think some of the colors you attributed to the subgroup are way too light/bright. I can’t wear the blue, for instance. It’s too intense to have enough contrast. We’re the “take a color, add black” more deep jewel tones group: emerald vs shamrock, sapphire vs cobalt, burgundy (not maroon, too warm) or garnet vs cherry red, aubergine vs violet, charcoal vs grey… I’ve recently branched out from my all-black wardrobe and added deep navy. I was told, way back in the 80s, I was an autumn. #colorsthatmakemelookdead I sometimes wear deep autumn colors, but only as bottoms because “maybe dead” isn’t really what I’m going for. 😂 Interestingly, I only wear brick red lipstick because cool toned and even neutral reds look fuchsia on me (hate), but the warmer reds skew to neutral. I’m pretty sure that’s because my undertone shows through the lipstick.

  • @PanarchyInTheUK
    @PanarchyInTheUK Před 4 dny

    I've watched a lot of colour analysis videos and I enjoyed yours the best. Sadly I am still rather confused as to my own undertones and palette. I'm a strawberry blonde, with pale eyebrows and lashes, greeny blue eyes, whose face turns scarlet when I exercise. I've always worn silver jewellery, and black looks good on me, but so does orange (burnt orange). White shirts are better than cream or beige, which wash me out. I love soft sagey greens and dove greys. So I feel like a walking contradiction.

  • @Slowbeginnings
    @Slowbeginnings Před 4 dny

    This was super helpful! I want to try it out too. It has been so hard for me to figure out my color season. Compared to you I’m warmer, but I always thought I was cool and purples and greens are my favourite colors. I think I’m neutral in temperature and that’s why it’s very hard for me to find my colors so trying your version would probably help ☺️ now I just have to find paint chips. Have you looked into David Zyla’s color system? I like it better because it has more range of colors from light to deep and I think all the colors that harmonise with you are considered good colors and they can be a mix of warmer and cooler colors because they have different colors effects so are used in different circumstances. Because it’s not so heavily reliant on cool vs warm I like it more ☺️

    You are clearly a NEUTRAL undertone with possibly warmer accents. This is exactly why I tend to dislike these tests because they pit you as one or the other and there is a third option. Clearly in several places both were working for you. But the warmer tones seemed better, the cool often washed you out.
