This deck is so stunning. It seems is better to be used to serious soul searching questions. I would feel silly asking deck like this question like: " does my crush likes me?" 😂
Gustave Doré did illustrate a lots of books in french . 7 and 9 of wands are from "Les voyages de gulliver" there is also a lots from the "La bible illustrée" and "La divine comédie de Dantes" . I discover him as I was reading the serie "Les voyages extraordinaires" from Jules Verne. Also there is a lots of books now that we can find in english explaining his artwork. Thank you so much for showing this ! Sold !😇
Dore! One of my favorite artists. (see my thumbnail.) Thanks for sharing. Agree that it should come with a larger book and better cardstock. You would have to be very familiar with the RyderWaiteSmith.

This deck is so gorgeous. Not only does it need a proper book to do it justice but I also feel this demands a special edition....slightly larger cards (but not too big), silver gilded edges perhaps, and higher grade card stock. There us another deck out there using Gustave Dore's art called the Great Bible Tarot. They do t quite hit the mark as there is an ugly white border that detracts from the images but still a decent deck, though I like this one from today much better

There is a book that explains the deck. It is called the Bible. Each card contains Biblical or Christian based stories or concepts. The World, for example, is called Empyrean Heaven and is used in the ending of Dante's Paradise. The Moon is Elijah's Chariot. 8 of Wands is the story of Samson. I love this deck and the depth that it has in it.

For the price one pays for new tarot decks, you'd think they'd enclose decks in something other than a standard tuck box, print tarot cards on nicer cardstock, and something other than a little white book for instructions.

I bought this today, came across it in a bookstore. Hadn't seen this deck before but I saw the HIgh priestess on the box and instantly knew I would love this. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous and unlike other artist decks the artworks are easy to connect with the rws.
