    Still waiting on real Hollywood to award another Black Actress the lead actress Oscar.

      Or any lead actress of colour for that matter

      There hasn’t been one since Halle Berry in 2001. Granted, most of the Best Actress winners that have won since had better performances, but when a Black actress does win Best Actress it better be for a performance that’s well deserved of the win

      What a bunch of racist. In almost 100 years there is only one black actress in a lead role.

      That's is true the only black actresses I know that I know were the ones In the supporting roles. We need more black actresses playing the reading roles

    Anna May Wong's screen test in the series is one of the strongest acting performances I've ever seen. If they ever make a movie based on her life, they should definitely consider Michelle Krusiec.

    Let’s hope we see another Black Actress win Best Lead Actress soon (as long as it’s for a performance that’s actually well deserved) There hasn’t been a Black Best Actress winner since Halle Berry in 2001

    Sorry, I love Laura Harrier and she’s obviously beautiful but her acting throughout the whole series was so forced and off. It verges on being cringeworthy and it’s a shame because again I love the actress and the character was the leading lady of the show. This is probably the only scene where Harrier’s acting is fine or passable.

    • @jhonmendoza9274
      @jhonmendoza9274 Před 4 lety +7

      I think she did good. In this scene, she was surprised, happy, and showed that this character is strong and does not want to play the roll of the poor black woman. She did very good, not excellent, but good.

    • @timothyday5187
      @timothyday5187 Před 4 lety +6

      MI.X.KO right? I mean, she was supposed to play a colored actress who against all odds breaking through social barriers and racism, so she has to be REAL good to do that, but I didn’t see that. Her crying also seemed forced in the Meg screen test.

    I really wanted to like this series. And i did. But something about the last episode just left a bad taste in the mouth. I know it’s a “reimagined” Hollywood. But as camille stood there. I felt as if the series spat on the stories of all the women and men of color who had to claw their way to this moment. Camille. Who i felt from episode 1 everything was handed to her. I do hope one day we can tell the real stories of those real people who never had their day because of the system.

    Until 2023, the only black actress to win in the main category is Halle Berry (21 years ago).
