  • "Founded in 1988 by former professional road racer and Armenian National Champion Hrach Gevrikyan, Velo Pasadena is considered one of the finest cycling stores on the West Coast. Hrach has spent nearly 30 years working to become a staple of the California cycling culture." - www.velopasade...
"Located on the famous Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, the store features a wide selection of the best brands in cycling. Over the past 25 plus years, Velo Pasadena has grown from a 675 sq. ft. shop to one of the top Time, Pinarello, BMC, and Felt Bicycles dealers in the country housed in a 5,000 sq. ft. showroom with hundreds of bikes and frames hanging from every corner of the building."
One of JOM's favorite quotes by Hrach Gevrikyan is, "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life."
In this video, JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew conducts a tour of the Velo Pasadena retail store, and the nearby museum. Thank you so much to the staff of Velo Pasadena for allowing this to happen, and to Mr. Phil Gaimon for making the recommendation to visit!

Just wow. I’m kicking myself right now thinking of all the times I’ve been in, or passed through Pasadena and missed this shop. On the other hand I’ve saved a small fortune by not knowing it was there. I will make the trip again soon to have a look myself. Thanks

I haven't been to Velo Pasadena in a few years, but it is hands down my favorite bike shop ever. It's a must stop location whenever I am in southern California.

I love that shop! I got my latest BMC SLR01 there. It's one of the few shops around that carries the nice high end stuff. Reminds me a lot of Bud's Bike Shop in Claremont, CA back in the 80s. I travel to Velo Pasadena from Long Beach when I want to look at the nice stuff. Notice I said look and not buy. It's dangerous.

The way you walk through it's almost like it's a religious experience for you. I'd love to visit that shop one day just to look around.

Velo Pasadena is definitely a candy store for those addicted to cycling sugar. They’ve specialized in historical sot after top brands longer than any shop I have ever been too.

    We've come a long way, haven't we?
Brakes with cables coming out the top, and friction shifters on the downtube (or on the stem) were the norm when I was growing up. Now when I see them, they stand out like a sore thumb.

Definitely gives you an appreciation for the current technology. I rode L'Eroica in 2016 aboard a Vitus 979, Mavic group with friction shifters, exposed brake cables, toe straps. The pedals, brake levers and brakes... straps cutting into your vintage shoes, less than powerful brakes, and so on.

Jom were your credit cards or cash reserves depleted after your visit? My gosh what an inventory of all things cycling. ❤️

There were at least 20 bikes in the museum I was drooling over, and the retail store, oh my.

@@GravelCyclist Well actually I've been in that shop before, last year when a friend of mine who is an avid cyclist was visiting. The part of the shop across the street is a true museum of bike racing; you have to ask to see it.
