I understand an EV is faster and doesn't pollute like a V12 and all that, but we're going to miss the sound, vibrations, character from this masterpiece of an engine. With a nice headset, i can guarantee you'll have goosebumps listening to this video.
I can tell you all from DAILY experience this car is even MORE amazing in real life than is even being portrayed in this video and did an incredible job. I’m going to miss the V-12 as the new one (that’s taking almost 1 year and a half and still hasn’t been delivered yet) will have a V8 twin turbo. Mercedes says it’ll actually be faster. They shortened the wheelbase and it’s a bit lighter. Thankfully I’ll get to confirm that claim cause this baby is staying with us forever. Last V-12 they’ll ever make. It’s officially collector status now. Also the breaking on this vehicle is SUPERB as well as the night vision and the side bolster support. You can set how much you want the side bolsters to hug you btw. Not many daily drivers in existence I’d trade this masterpiece for.

Awesome love the Mercedes 6.0 litre V12 BITURBO from AMG, just the sound. Gorgeous interior and exterior. This engine produces 621HP 738lb-Ft of Torque just mind blowing.
AMG needs to put a V12 in the new SL, bring back the SL65

That dashboard is absolutely one of the best Mercedes interior design. Compared to this design, the new S class is nothing imo. E class took some ideas from this but still this one is way better.

This is my favorite car. I love the video and the thoughts you have in the machine. I know the thing is very expensive to maintain and blah blah. I don’t care about British motors like Bentley but I love German engineering with classical vibes. German cars are very nice to drive. It gives man a superpowers. German car almost feels like body extension.
S65 was truly an experience. Can't believe Mercedes killed this car off and pulled the V12 from everything but the MayBach. Don't tell me no one bought S65 Cabriolets, I'd never believe you.
New or old it doesn't matter Mercedes will always be my favorite
After putting 90k mi on one: yes, you can fit 2 golf clubs (and a pushcart!) in the trunk. A VRP tune opens this to a reliable 960ft/lbs. Maintenance is not extravagant. Bespoke rotors ($5000/pair, changed every other brakepad) are the only surprises.

I really didn't expect to be into this car at all, but it's actually pretty awesome... I really apreciate these videos because of that. im usually just into japanese cars like the new GR Corola, but i always watch these videos to expose myself to more types of cars and their communities. I'm definitely impressed with this one.

Great car, laughably short on rear seat and trunk space. I always love a pillarless design. Too bad about the uninspired color combo on something with a pretty much endless choice available.
Agreed on the colors! Far too many Mercedes are black or silver, with a black interior. Look to Bentley for an idea of what exotic colors can do for a car.
"Oily fuel smell" should be something Febreeze sells. Maybe scented candles, too.
Imo Mercedes-Benz lineup of this generation is insane. If you want a cheaper option, a similar speced S500 Cabrio with "just" 455hp is half the price of this.

My absolute favourite segment of cars: big ass convertible 4 seater gts. This or an 8 series Cabrio are my dream cars at the moment. I can't believe how expensive this was and the colour combo being so "lame": black with black interior and black roof. The problem is that no one wants to properly maintain them and these are money pits after the third owner hasn't even done an oil change. I adore and at the same time hate how "discrete" this can be, that lady didn't even mind it but someone who knew would phreak out

13:00 idk to me those paddles are too small, but I have also been spoiled. If Alfa can put great paddles on 3 series fighter, merc should put bigger ones on the AMGs. Though I’m not sure if I would actually use the paddles often in that cabrio, it’s supposed to be relaxing, but it’s still a V12 with enough torque to rotate the earth so I’m sure it would be fun.
I think they’re perfect because it’s no meant to be a sports car. Plus most the people that own these will never even use them 😂

wow, amazing car< that was the perfect ending with the Audi merging in lol. I'd think the only car that might get close, is the S600 Coupe/Cabriolet, I think that would be more on the luxury side and this one has a more sporty touch.

Compared to Mercedes' V-12's, Bmw's V-12's were pantywaists.
@@MDavidG1 dont forget mclaren f1 uses a bmw v12 (or i thought). bmw's v12 only made ~20 less HP that mercedes. but what made mercedes way better is how they made the exhaust sound. its legendary, bmw never made theirs sound nice. idk why they ever even offered a v12 in the 7.
