New Updates to the 2024 Street Bob? Will we see 117 on the Streetbob?

  • **I mention in the video that the survey was sent out by Harley Davidson, but it’s actually a separate entity (in order to maintain integrity) called H-D Riders market research group. From what I can gather they use the data to inform Harley Davidson on hd rider sentiments and opinions.

    I'd rather see new colors and for them to lose that giant dumb 1 on the side and give us a simple HD badge on the tank with some classic colors.

      The 1 has me conflicted on one hand it is a bit much, but it does make it stand out against other softails. Number one on the tanks and fork boats, yupp, it's a street bob. Vs I know it isn't a heritage, or low rider s or st, is it a standard maybe.

    117 engine, Dual Front Disc Brakes, Assisited Slipper Clutch, Traction Control. These things should come as standard for the whole Softail line. I'm willing to upgrade from my Nightster 975 if they can provide that.

    I already have most of those upgrades on My 107 Street Bob. The ABS and LED lights already came as standard on mine. I upgraded the cruise control installed, A stage 2, LRS clamshell bags, memphis shades fairing. I would also like to see some of these come as standard on future Street Bobs.

    Updates are inevitable if you want to stay competitive. Something you didn't mention is VVT on the softail platform. These bells and whistles that are offered and standard on other brands will and HAVE to make it over the the harley name plate. Shiny side up 👍

    I have a black 22 SB and I love it. I wasn't sure about the 1 on the tank, it was a bit Evil Knievel for me but its grown on me. In the future I may keep the black and orange but come up with a different design. In the wet you have to be very gentle on the throttle going round roundabouts/cornering, that torque on the back tyre can make it slide easily so a rain riding mode would be cool. After 150/160 miles I like to stop anyway so tank size isn't a problem. The stock front brake is better than I expected and just about adequate but with a 117 engine and say stage 2 or 4 not so sure...
    Tyres are skinny for some tastes (150 on the rear) but that's what makes this bike so nimble, one of its best selling points so why ruin it, keep it simple stupid.

    • @IronBornRider
      @IronBornRider  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I do think the beauty of the streetbob is the simplicity. Next to the softail standard it’s the most basic softail you can get. If they do add all this to the streetbob in the future, they should make it a special model and still keep a base model

  • @LankyR
    @LankyR Před 8 měsíci +2

    I don't think a 117 in the Street Bob makes sense. The point of the Street Bob is a stripped down, but great looking model. I thought going to the 114 and mag wheels was already doing too much with the model (it's pushing $18k now) and getting too close to the LRS. Upgrading it further would leave a gap in the model line above the Standard and push the Street Bob up to the LRS with too much overlap. Also, I see your riding near Whitts/Bull Run HD in Manassas. Are you local to that area?

    • @IronBornRider
      @IronBornRider  Před 8 měsíci

      I thought the same unless they make improvements to the lrs as well. So they all get upgraded more or less. I’m about 45 minutes outside of manassas, in Maryland actually

    My 2022 Street Bob has ABS. I think the only thing HD needs to do is add a 117 and LED lighting on the Street Bob.
    The Low Rider gives a larger tank and wider rear tire.
    If HD is smart they would Give the ST bikes and the limited bikes the 121 VVT.
    The first photos of the 2023 CVO were leaked by HD.

    THEY NEED TO BRING BACK THE STONEWASH WHITE COLOR OPTION!! Also keep the 3.5 gallon tank! I know that is controversial but to me that is the perfect size tank. Dont want to change the look and increse the weight of the bike. Stopping to fuel up around every 140 miles isnt bad at all. Also im fine with the 114 just keep the price point down! It shouldn't be more than $13k msrp at most!! Sportsters need to be under $10k and they need to bring another classic style sportster to the table. They need to soften their prices if they want to survive because sales are down big time for them and it's because of their prices being too steep. Everyone loves Harleys just the prices are too hard to afford!

      With 3.5 gallons you can go 180 miles, the 114 gets 50 plus mpg. 150 on a tank if you're feeling like lighting, smoke a sport bike from a stoplight. You'll be changing your rear tire often.. Fat Bob 0-60 3.5 seconds.. a little heavier. They didn't post the 0-60 on the street in 2021 when I got it.. I wonder why.. get slip on mufflers right away. And make it your own, with a name, Choas.
