I love how most of the group have decided to do a slower pacing this season. Less planning, more collaboration, all the whimsy. I love it.
I've been thinking that. im liking it more than the other seasons because they're finally taking it slow and hanging out.😊
Too many suffered burn out recently. Luckily they are much more friends than coworkers and leaned into each other to recover and prevent it.
@@whisperingchicken2993 IT FEELS LIKE WERE BACK TO SEASON 6!
And then there is Doc 😂
This is what the last few seasons have been missing. All the best content from hermitcraft has come from them playing together. Take Sahara for example. That was so great because the boys are so fun to watch together
23:14 "I stopped recording and went snowshoeing with my dog" is about the most Canadian explanation I can think of.
It’s also true down here in North Dakota
@@luigiboi4244North Dakota is quite close to Canada after all lol
'I stopped recording and went to grab some maple syrup, but got attacked by a bear.' It would've been the reasonable canadian explanation too

Does anyone have Windex? I need to clean my eyes.
I imagine that Gem is the enthusiastic child on Christmas day going downstairs and Grian the parent feigning innocence whereas he actually put the presents out. :D
Well, according to Grian's video, he didn't put the snail there, it fell from the sky. he did already know about it though
That is the most accurate representation of them I've ever heard XD

At least this season 😂
I like how Scar was underprepared for the wither fight and did it out in the open in an uncontrolled environment but didn't die, then Tango was overprepared and did it underground in a controlled environment and chaos ensued!
I have been saying for years now I think scar is actually a Minecraft beast and only acts like he's bad. I genuinely believe he might actually be the best player on the hermit craft server but just doesn't want to be
@@camcam-uw5mx to me he's just got no fear bone in his body lol. it works out most of the time and can make him a really scary player to other people
well, more so he runs into situations without really thinking. he still panics sometimes lol
Scar is very good at pvp when he's focused, but he is usually so distracted he makes the silliest mistakes.
Since most of the Server really sucks at pvp the difference becomes noticeable.
Nobody shoots other players who run or fly away while in flight themselves as accurately as Scar does without some real skills.
@@camcam-uw5mx Scar can be really good at the game when he concentrates, just look at the hardcore series he did with grian or the life series. Its just that on hermitcraft he focuses more on making content so he kinda makes dumb mistakes.
Gem getting her own snail is so adorable wtf. Like part of me wants the rest of the mountaineers to get their own snails at some point just because I think it’d be silly and wholesomly adorable
Scar's should have a diamond beard. 😉
That would be fun to see what each person snail looks like? And if each have a different personality?

Tip for keeping the coral shop stocked: always keep some emeralds on you & always check with wandering traders to see if they've got coral. If you make a habit of buying coral off of traders as often as possible, you'll be surprised how quickly you can stock up on it.
Boat and 64 blocks of emerald at all times. You never know when they have exactly what you need. Also, the boat's perfect to harvest the leads without having to deal with being spat at.
Do they have normal wandering traders in hermitcraft? I thought theirs only had the ones that sold tiny little head versions of blocks

"I logged off and went snowshoeing with my dog." This may be the most Canadian thing I ever heard Gem say. I love it
I picture Gemini slay like a rock paper scissors kinda deal. Gem beats the hermits, the hermits beat the wither, the wither beats Gem.
You could combine the shops for Moss and Clay and theme it after a lush cave, with maybe a tank of axolotls as decoration.
Love this idea
Great idea, but iirc, the hermits explicitly stated that they need to make a bunch of individual shops for each permit they own unless they are in a collective shop, so she probably won’t be allowed to sell moss and clay together.
@@SunshineReyThen they could just be next door to each other
A store called "The Lush Cave" that has a door and sign in a mound then goes into a handmade cavern decorated like a lush cave would be great. She could even get other hermits with thematically matching permits to have minishops as part of it such as glow berries, glow lichen, axolotl, azalea, etc. There are required collective shops but that doesn't mean they couldn't have a voluntary collective shop.
@@SunshineReyI thought Grian said basically don't sell things together that don't make sense together (e.g. a single shop with like blue concrete, red glass, and blaze rods). I think they can combine things connected like a red and blue wool store or a "lush cave items" store.
The snail gave me an idea: Snail Mail!
You could put together a shulker box kit with the components to make a snail. Then, you mail it to one of the other Hermits, along with a book explaining the concept.
The receiving Hermit has to build the snail somewhere in their base and then pass a kit along to another Hermit anonymously.
Snail chain mail 😂
Only one problem, there’s already a mail service on the server
@Sum_Bee oh sorry, I guess I should clarify: I meant using the mail system that they've been installing ^.^
I feel like something like that is kinda the plan. I doubt the snails will just be a GG thing. Now, what color would Scar's snail be? Green? Or orange? Acacia wood would make a perfect orange snail and if you threw in some prismarine or warped wood you'd have a hotguy snail
@@RikkuTakanashi i do find it find considering how many different coloured snails you can have, assuming you need: a log (for the shell with a spiral), a wall or fence, candles and a trapdoor in the right colour. obvs you can mix and match but i think the colours you can theoretically have are
red (mangrove, red nether brick), yellow (birch, bamboo, endstone), orange (acacia, red sandstone), cyan (prismarine, warped wood), white (diorite, birch (ish), iron trapdoor), pink (cherry), brown (mud and spruce), and maybe grey (chiseled basalt, any stone variant, slab instead of trapdoor or iron again). so nine different coloured snails can torment the server before we have to start mixing and matching colours.
@@RikkuTakanashi Warped wood stripped log, red sandstone wall, orange candles, acacia trapdoor.
seeing all the interactions with iskall in other hermits’s POVs is so funny
God his hair from others’ perspective is disastrous
A sea temple as the trident shop could be cool. Maybe a setup where customers "sacrifice" their diamonds to The Sea, and then an invisible armour stand pops up and presents their trident, as though it was a gift from The Sea. Or maybe instead of diamonds players must complete a set of challenges set by The Sea in order to earn a Trident!
That’s genius!
5:28 the "the i thought you had eyes" got me dying of laughter 🤣🤣
And after that is Gem's eyes being tested by Iskall
11:20 reminder that dead coral is grayscale and makes great rocks!
I like to mix the dead pink coral for paths, it looks like a smoother version of cobblestone, like rocks laid out in a town square, for example
I think Soul Lanterns would look really good in the fish market. It would give it a more creepy look compared to the warm welcome vibe the normal ones give off.
A tip for potential overwater coral builds if you didn't already know:
Coral doesn't die as long as it's adjacent to a water block or a waterlogged block. This means you can place coral on waterlogged slabs, and fans on the side of waterlogged stairs, and it looks like there's colorful coral growing out of wood, stone, etc.
Excited to see what the coral shop ends up looking like, a little miniature reef or a shipwreck could look really cool.
Gem, you should add a chest hanging from a chain from the roof of the fish's mouth. So Hermits can be lured in to check the chest, and get eaten by the angler fish.
Omg yes
A note inside renamed to "Nom Nom, you are eaten!"
Make it a trapped chest for extra foreshadowing
You could even hook up a calibrated skull sensor to it to trigger a scary noise when the chest is opened
at first i thought you were talking about the blue fish 🤣
It's so funny to me how both Scar and Tango went to Gem for help with withers - the geminislay reputation is very strong amongst the other hermits it seems :P
Well they could go to False, but she would probably be like "What, you cant handle a little wither on your own?!" :p
“I hope he accepts the apology - Gemini) *insert sign* NO!!
I think clay could really tie in to your Dredge theme! When people dredge river beds irl, they end up scooping up a lot of mud and debris. You could make the shop look like an old, run-down barge, just completely covered in clay and other gunk. It would work with the spooky vibe!
Also, I've played around with making fish/jellyfish like the one in your shop, and I've found that you can do some cool things with banners to make different kinds of fins.
love you forcing skizz to make decisions about the terraforming around his base. it honestly reminds me of when i was a writing tutor and i had to convince my students that they were the ones with the ideas that i was trying to help realize, not the other way around !!
Right?
I was surprised at how happy I felt when he ended up being able to tell what he actually wanted, or which decisions he had already made subconsciously.
It's a wonderful thing.
Gem: I want a creepy vibe!
Also Gem: Builds cute little fish carpets...
You can not escape the whimsical cottage core
this new style (which im loving) is like gem turned the friendlyness of her base from a 100% friendly to 62% friendly
It’s really funny watching with my 8 year old niece and she goes wait she sounds so nice and sweet and there’s… a giant fish with teeth
the timing is hilarious for the "Sorry i didn't slay :(" and "No."
it was so not gonna happen he returned them before you returned to your base lmaoo
You now have a Grian watching over your fish market.
Also with your flying fish, you need to make it "sing" when people walk past it.
That was my first thought. It looks like a grain Jack-in-the-box. 😂😂
Grian acting like he hadn't already seen the snail fall from the sky is peak hermitcraft
random shop ideas:
- Coral shop, dockside chest boats with each different boat being a different color type of coral and its bits.
- clay shop, not sure how to increase sales but to decorate you could set up "clayification" stations with mud blocks and drip stone and a pottery wheel and clay pots
-fish market, redstone "blood" near the mongers counter/prep station. fishing rods hanging in the shop. spider webs as is for ambience or maybe some kind of fishing net? borrow Lizzie's hanging squid from the hide and seek build off. lead attached to fence post "fishing rod" on the dock (put he mob in a "rock" or lobster crate).
Clay shop pottery thats all i can think of
Hi Gem. The past few months / years have been... mentally draining to me (and maybe others). Your content has been a welcome escape. Whether it's your beautiful Minecraft builds - love the anglerfish btw! - your banter with friends, and even the pictures you post from Newfoundland. Thank you.
Given the Lush Cave Biome exists, you could incorporate the clay shop into your moss shop. Just an idea so you don't have to build an extra shop for the weak seller...
Loved the video. Top tier content as usual :)§
Might even be worth teaming up with whoever got the dripleaf permit.
Maybe whoever got dripleaf and whoever got spore blossoms, I think they might be two separate permits, and people might buy more, because if they’re coming in to grab some dripleaf or moss they might grab some clay while they’re there
ISKALL AND GEM GIVING THEIR SHOP ITEMS TO EACH OTHER FOR FREE EARLY ON JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN!!! This episode is so wholesome that it’s gonna make me cry.
no if youve watched iskall's video its not wholesome, its sad.
Iskall changed his skin and was going over to hermits to see if they'd notice. The rockets were just an excuse
@@akmuchbetter9782 In his episode he admitted that he wasn't actually expecting most hermits to notice.
Maybe half noticed, and a couple more figured he wanted something but couldn't figure out.
Not sad. Just silly. Too few pixels to be sad.
@@jasonreed7522 no he said he expected every hermit except the new ones and gem to see it.
5:21 This feels very much like “older brother entertains younger sister’s antics and lets her in on his fun” but it’s really sweet. I know this is now Gem’s third season, but I can’t help but still think of it as older hermit supporting newer hermit (which she gets to pass onto Skizz!!!!)
I gotta say, at first I was kind of skeptical about Skizz's building skills, but he is just the cutest when he is genuinely trying to improve and learn from the best. Your interaction was so heartwarming.
Yeah skizz isn't a builder, most of his game time has been in either the life series and naked and scared (his and impulses hard-core series) but I think he's got the right vibe for hermitcraft and is definitely willing to learn new things.
27:27
Pearl: we love Tyler Swift, its okay
Impulse: :]
I like hearing you ask Skizz questions about how to make decisions about what to do build-wise. This is really good for people like me that are really bad at building to hear what's probably your own internal dialog and decision making when you build. Now I can see the kind of self-interrogation I should be doing when planning things out. Thanks!
So fun to see how each Hermit's videos intersect. Like at 17 minutes in I finally know what led to Skiz's rescue mission from this innocent Wither plan from Tango.
23:37 - I don’t think Gem realizes that she just did a horrendous fish pun. I still love it.
I’m confused, what was the pun?

with that Roll of permits I wouldn't doubt you will get rich Gem.
also use Conduit For Coral farming.
I think she had/has aqua infinity, but the look of the conduit would be very nice.
@@Elizabeth_person1 yeah open movement and Unlimited breathing will be fantastic, now you think about Maybe a beacon will be good too.
With the right sales pitch from bdubs, I think the dead coral blocks can be one of the biggest sellers on the server.
A few of them make such nice path blocks to go with rock stuff
Corral shop idea: flood a large building and make an aquarium with all the different stock at different levels and a conduit. Not very convenient but it would be fun to float around in.
One of the nice things about Coral from what the Wiki mentions using bonemeal on dirt, coarse dirt, sand, red sand, gravel, or clay in warm ocean biomes, coral generates in place of some of the seagrass. So hope that can help with ideas for farming coral. Also for the coral shop you could make it a bottle with coral inside like a ship in a bottle type thing.
since you want the fish shop to be creepy you could add the guardian head on the note block to trigger when you enter for even more of a creepy vibe! :)
For the Clay shop, maybe consider making it look like it's a ceramics classroom! Like a throwing wheel, the kiln, finished and drying pieces of pottery around, and the shopping could even be done from the kiln :)
You could make a fishing game in your coral shop where buyers get discounts based on what they catch. (Cod = 0% off, Saddle = 15% off, Pufferfish = 25% off, etc.) You could also use custom items with dispensers. This might require casting into a hole to be unable to see if they caught something.
This way you can justify higher costs and get repeat customers
I used to use wither to mine as well. you have to keep them aggroed on you, by punching them. Every punch (even without weapons) in his "sword-only mode" breaks a layer of deepslate. I know it might be late, but maybe this informations help for a second attempt xD
22:54 Aw, Tango is such a dad 😂
25:20 best armor stand idea I've seen lmao
I personally love the fish hanging in the fish market, and I dunno if it was intentional, but since you used prismarine bricks for it, it kinda makes it look like a Dunkleostus from the front, which makes the cute lil guy even cooler imo
In the words of Biggie, never get high on your own supply". In reference to iskall talking about not using the products from their shops
Just reminds me of scarface, not that there was any consequences from doing that...
Bright red coral + glow lichen would make the river bed really atmospheric
Watching Iskalls video first makes their interaction just that much funnier
15:47 ‘how do I get down there’
‘The staircase-‘
I think almost everyone who’s a fan of hermitcraft can agree that this slow paced, spending more time with the hermits are the videos we love the most!
Hey gem! Idk if it would work w the rules of the shopping district, or if the other hermits would be interested, but I feel like building an “aquarium” for a shop would be interesting. If you can get whoever has bucket mobs in on it, you can build a full walk through aquarium w a gift shop at the end that sells tridents and stuff to build your own aquarium (coral). I could also see letting whoever has mob buckets, or sand and gravel, or even some of the wood types set up a stall in it (for a share of course)
An idea for your shop - put it *in* the little bay behind where you already have it.
So you have a little bridge out to a building in the water, and then it has a downstairs under the water with glass like your storage room, and that's where you sell the ocean stuff like coral and pickles, and sell the moss and clay up on the top level.
Perhaps the moss shop could take on the appearance of an azalea tree? That way if the azalea leaves (and bushes/trees) are allowed to be sold they also fit within the theme.
Love the episode Gem, poor Tango-
your explanation of the timing at 23:13 is like a window into how much sheer fun yall are having and that's absolutely amazing
Honestly? With the whole mechanic of mud turning in to clay from dripstone, it feels like a clay shop could really work with you general 'watery horror' vibe. A darkened drippy cave, with pools and muck and spines of stalactites and stalagmites growing all over. If you can hire out the services of one of the more redstone inclined Hermits, you can even set it up so there's a tripwire across the front door that triggers a piston to break some pointy dripstone hanging from the ceiling. Preferably far enough in that there's little chance of hitting the customer, unless they run headlong into danger.
I so love the business themes of the HC episodes!
I want to see a submersible over the coral reef. It would be SOO cute and fit with the “research lab”.
That hanging fish to me looks like a narwhal without a horn placing an end rod on the head would make it look amazing as well as add discrete lighting to the build
Gem! Don't forget that clay includes clay balls! Which means flowerpots and decorative pots and bricks! If you sold the clay balls or maybe even the individual bricks (if that's included in your permit) you might get more clay sales :)
4:53 When she was calling for Grian I was reminded of Poppy calling for Branch from Trolls lol
i love how close almost everyone are living to each other, and just the whole neighborhood vibe in general, cause we see other hermits in almost every vid and everything feels much less isolated, than it has in other seasons
i love the slower pacing of this season - it feels a lot more fun and chilled out n the random interactions are always nice to see
If I had a nickel for every hermit that hung a fish this week, I'd have two nickles, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
I love to see the detailing process, it's so much more fun to me than pre-planned megabuilds
For the clay shop, you could build a giant tub of play dough. Or, a "burning building" made off Bricks, Terracotta, Pots, and Clay as Smoke. That would kinda give the Hermits a reminder of all the things they can do with clay.
Maybe a way to help sell more clay would be to show off some of the things you can make with clay items? There's a lot of potential with bricks and flower pots!
Loved the episode btw!
One cool thing... Gem with the youthful innocence really brings something to the roleplay side of hermitcraft. Too often (with others) rp comes off as cheesy or self-conscious, and there can be a kind of cringe feel when you know these are adults playing with toys lol. But... Gem plays it perfectly. The whole pink snail arc is so funny and lovable, she falls into the role so easily and with such enthusiasm. love love love!
For the clay shop you could make it look like a pottery shop , that looks like you can make pottery and such but it really just sells clay :) unless you’re also allowed to sell pots - then definitely do that too 😊
for the coral reef farming and to continue with the dredge theme, i think it would be cool to make one of those pontoons like the traveling merchant has as a temporary base
also think some dead coral outside the storage room would add some more detail while also keeping the darker theme!
loving the episodes
One of the best trident farms i had was just a big tank of water, then soul sand at the bottom, a large roof over the top. AFK at the top and then they all spawn down low, fly up in the water and fall into a kill chamber. I got a ton of tridents but also nautilus shells which will be handy for making conduits for your coral farming
Really love how the permits are making everyone get out of their comfort zones and try working with some new blocks.
I feel like an end rod on the end of the prismarine fish would give baby narwahl vibes!
A clay shop shaped like a giant earthenware jug or vase would be very cool! You could even build a bunch of huge flowers sticking out at the top :D
Loving the different ways in which the hermits are recapping at the beginning of episodes. You started it because you understand from a viewer standpoint that it's hard to keep up with 20+ perspectives.
I really hope recaps become a regular thing on everyone's channel. Or perhaps an /official/ Hermitcraft recap channel where every hermit can select up to 60 seconds-worth of highlights from their recent episode to compile into a simple, weekly recap.
The way tango was just like NO THESE ARE YOUR HARD EARNED DIAMONDS was just so funny to me
The hanging squid that Lizzie had outside her hide & seek house would look PERFECT around the fish market
I had an idea for the clay shop to build an uncooked clay pot maybe even atop a pottery wheel could be a nice touch
You could work together with Stress for your clay permit as she has the mud permit, as you can make clay out of mud with dripstone and they are both wet earthy blocks.
That’s a really good idea!
A fun idea for the clay store could be something like a pottery/ceramics workshop? You could add different pots as decor and maybe a big table to pretend like you're leading pottery classes as well 😄 That's all I've got... loved the video!
I love how Gem goes up to Grian shouting Grian Grian Grian like a little kid wanting to show him her new snail! 😊😂
I kind of love the idea about an organic kind of moss shop and then a water cavern below it you'd have to swim through with a conduit that opens up like your storage room for your coral and/or trident shop
I love the idea of the clay shop being underground just a bit. Like a few steps down into a small cave. Make it look like a pottery shop sort of. Pots and stuff everywhere
Thank you Gem for introducing me to the game Dredge. I am now obsessed with it.
Also- I really wish I hadn’t watched iskall’s video first, bc I’m genuinely curious if I would have noticed the face changes. I like to think I would but I’m not sure.
the tnt transition is so freaking cool omg
Love that you're taking multiple pieces/inspirations from Dredge. Can't wait to see it all come together!
Ok that TNT transition into the moss farm right off the bat is way more impressive than it has any right to be. Slick editing!
Edit: ohhhh, and the snail was the meteorite in Grian's vid! Man, I love hermit attention to detail.
