The BEST of the BEST Jeep Sway Bars

- In this video I go through all the different Swaybar systems on the market for the JK Wrangler through the new Jeep JL Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator. I installed the best one on my Gladiator and I'll tell you why.
SwayLOC is the only true dual rate off-road sway bar for Jeep Wrangler. It improves balance and control while providing full articulation during off-road use. It also delivers near OEM ride quality during on-road use that is more firm than the stock sway bar.
The SwayLOC system incorporates a simple latching mechanism that makes it easy to change between off-road and on-road resistance rates without having to struggle with disconnect links. There are two latch options: an air operated, remote controlled latch, or the “Flip-a-Lever” manually operated latch. The air operated latch is controlled by a switch inside the cab or automatically when equipped with their ORO AiROCK.

Man I’m always impressed how well you lay out these topics. I’ve learned more about bad ass Jeeps and actual useful info here than everywhere else combined. Thanks for this content!
Thanks!
I need this on my Wrangler for sure. You product videos are great!!
Thanks for making this install and review dummy proof it makes doing an install way easier. I never thought about using this type of sway bar until now and its all because of this video this will definitely be one of the next upgrades!!
Awesome! We have them on our website when you’re ready!
Got one on my jk, love it, no issues after two years.
ORO was at the top of my shortlist, but I was still going back and forth between that at the Currie. Now my mind is made up, for my type of use the ORO it is! Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Awesome, so glad we could help!
I do the JKS quicker disconnects. They are kind of a pain in the ass sometimes like you said but they're relatively cheap and better than unbolting and re bolting the sway bar everytime.
Great info, I actually learned something!!! Also have n idea for your channel... howb about a rig walk-around for builds...from the basic to the baller...along with some actual wheeling of the rig!!!
Great video I’m expecting mine to show up in a couple days. Really appreciate the humor in the high quality of this video.
Thank you!
awesome content..
Love it!
I love the hood removal of the tire balancer to fit it against the wall lol
Haha. TAIL LIGHT??? Glad that reaction got caught on camera.
Nice video....would be interesting to hear your thoughts on using a rear swaybar.
Use it. It’s been proven that you actually get better articulation with it, than without.
Just watched the vid... great reviews!!
But... why aren't you flipped on the drag link?! Just curious. I bought mine, no flip... but all Currie. It darts a bit (haven't checked castor yet) so I bought a flipped drag link and trackbar relocation bracket. Was that a mistake?!
I'm glad you did a review on the Swayloc. Thank you 🙏
I have a rooftop tent and awning so it adds considerable weight to the top side of my JKUR. So on bumps and turns, I'm leaning or bouncing side to side at times.
Do you recommend the Swayloc as an upgrade to help with this? Or do you think a suspension upgrade is in order? Or both?
Currently using a metalcloak 3.5" six pack on 35's and prefer to go off road but not necessarily crawling over rocks as much.
Having tested the swayloc as well it would be a great upgrade for your setup to add stability on road without sacrificing off-road capability.
do you have a video on something like this for the rear of the gladiator?
I like how he makes it seem like removing the factory bolts is so awesome but a quick disconnect system isn't.
Are there any clearance issues with the new design and a SteerSmarts sector shaft brace? Some other users have reported having to grind the brace to clear the SwayLoc.
I'd be interested in Bubba recommend parts. I hope that wasn't the expensive tailight
@EXODUS 4X4 i have a jku and was thinking about this upgrade should i change the rear too or is that overkill is there and added benefit by changing both?
Is it a good idea if I put ORO Swayloc in the front and use antirock in the rear? I don't like too much body roll (front antirock)😅
Awesome...... 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
What would your opinion be kn outting this swayLoc uo front and currie anti sway in the rear? Would there be any additional benefit? Or just stick with changing the front andeaving rear stock?
Question could the sway locs be installed on the rear end to or how does that go?
Great video! Wondering, do I have to flip the clip before going off road and then flip them again afterwards?
Correct
What’s a good set of disconnects for the SwayLOC on a 2008 JKU?
13:08Well instead of pop goes the weasel more like POP GOES THE TAILIGHT XD
and in my case today POP goes my windshield and im not even kidding i just dont know how that little honda on the highway had so many rocks and boom i got a nice 2" circular crack on my fricking windshield so that was fun, please can someone tell me the best windshield thats pretty resistant to cracking cause im pretty sure theres some windshields that are not just FLAT
Any issues with a sway loc to look out for? Clunking or noise in general? I’m planning on not running apex autolynx anymore so I’m looking to get a sway loc or antirock, but like the best of both worlds that the swayloc offers.
None at all!
What is the length of the sway bar.
What fuses need to be pulled from the box when replacing the Rubicon sway bar?
None?
Thoughts on an aftermarket rear sway bar? Like a rear anti rock
Yeah anti-rock or SwayLoc.
I wish they had it for the rear of the gladiator
I feel like fine mud will make that system wear oddly, idk the whole idea of the anti rock to me is no sway bars with the added road stability from running no sway bars
It’s cool but too many moving parts for my liking .. I have the Currie anti-rock and it does sway abit on the road I personally like it, makes it fun to drive lol plus my son thinks it’s fun
Good video as always man !!
How about the Teraflex dual sway. Which would you use for overlanding (top heavy 200+ pounds above roof)?
Not sure, never used it.
I’ve ring the TF Dual Rate for 11 years, similar to the ORO. I swear by it. . Either will get you there.
I just put one of these in my JT overland EcoDiesel but am having a lot of clunking while driving on road..
I noticed instructions weren't super clear about the extra zerk and bolt... and it seems maybe the manual lever on mine was put on the wrong side? (Facing the tire/link?)
Nope, that's the way its suppose to be installed. I would contact the manufacturer
@@Exodus4x4 I contacted them. Turns out I've got a few things wrong.
Mainly that I missed the "grease side is specific" part. Lol.
So I've gotta swap the to the other side and regrease and what not..
Oh well.. live and learn.
Don't forget the Terraflex S/T sway bar. Works in a very similar way.
We forget about 98% of what Terraflex makes, and for good reason.
@@Exodus4x4 ?
The quality is lacking in a lot of components, and a lot of their stuff is made overseas. We do our best to support American made products FIRST.
Yep...bought some Teraflex lower control arms once and they folded like wet tissue paper.
Bubba,
Out of curiosity, where would you place the Apex AutoLynx disconnect system in this list?
Man I have no experience in that system so I can’t say for sure.
Sir, I have the Antirock now, and I tow a small trailer, so it is dangerous on road. However I wheel hard offroad. My question is , do you feel the ORO flexes more or less than teh Antirock offroad? The reason I ask is that my Antirock limits articulation by a couple of inches. I wish ORO made a single rate like teh Teraflex ....but I have not found any comparison between teh ORO and teh Anti Rock "Offroad".
The SwayLoc flexes the same and the anitrock!
@@Exodus4x4 So....
Your saying the Swayloc is limited just like "Mefobia Jeep" said his Antirock is?!
If so, I'd like to see how you determined that (other then theory).
Is this available for the rear as well and how stiff is street mode compared to stock?
As far as the tailights, can you replace the blind spot ones from your max tow with regular ones and just turn off blind spot monitoring?
I think they do. You can but I like the LED’s. It only chipped it a little, nothing bad
Exodus Jeeps oh yeah I like the LEDs I just meant the regular LED not the super expensive blind spot ones
I don’t think there’s a LED without the blind spot monitoring
Exodus Jeeps www.quadratec.com/vehicle/jeep-gladiator-jt-parts/lights-lenses-bulbs/tail-lights
Any concern with mud gumming up that latch from going back to "highway mode"?
I don’t mud. It happened though, once. I took a bottle of water and washed off the latch. Everything was good!
Even worse is when it freezes over while Off-roading during the wintertime. I can only imagine chiseling these out to drive home after a day at the park.
@@MrCrazypops What's worse, is getting under the vehicle to reconnect with mud/water/ice dripping on your face and down into your ear.... ;)
I love my Terraflex Dual Rate on my LJR... so, I'm thinking the Sway Lock for the JKUR. I try and steer clear of mud, and don't off-road in snow/ice where I live (San Diego). And Moab or CO is done during the warmer months.
do yo recommend putting sway bar in front and back of a jeep wrangler 4d jl 2020?
*oro
Mainly the front!
How has the SwayLoc held up over the past year.
It’s been great. Highly recommend it
How do you feel about the Hellwig rear swaybar?
Probably pretty good but haven’t seen on up close
@@Exodus4x4 Just installed the Hellwig and definitely helps alot with top heavy sway. I haven't tried it offroad yet, but it is adjustable if need be.
Do they make a rear assembly like Currie?
Yes they do
Sweet!
did jeep make you change the opening tag line to "custom" lol?!
Yep. More to follow.
@@Exodus4x4 oh man bummer!! but will be curious to hear the story!
Can this be added to a Mohave?
I know it has been a while since you asked, but yes, it will fit. I have one on mine.
What if it’s full of mud? Will it still lock?
I think we need to take a little responsibility for ourselves and clean our toys off after getting in the mud🤣
Cleaning would help but because the notch is fairly large as long as the mechanism isn’t caked solid it will lock.
Is this still available? Link is not working
They are if you email us direct!
What’s up with the rear bumper??
Whoopsie didn’t watch til the end 🤦🏼♂️ Looks cool! Maybe should’ve had it come out a few more inches and possibly would’ve avoided taillight damage...who knows 🤷🏼♂️
Maybe, but that wouldn’t look near as cool lol. Seriously though, I think it would’ve happened either way.
Exodus Jeeps you’re probably right, you know way more than I do. Thing looks sweet though! 👌🏼
Rock bouncers
What about the rear
Did a video on that too. Look under cool parts on my playlists.
How much?
$799 for the JK.
The torsion bar is too low for me. One hard hit from a rock and its bent! The Curry is protected...
Seeing those straight bars looks just UGLY uglies but keepers for jeepers
lol.. like broke broke?
What the hell!!! Forcing me to watch some stupid Joe Biden ad before your video!!!
Lmaoooo chump is out buddy
