Will The Anti Rock Sway Bar Fix Your Jeep?!

- The body sway of my Jeep on the trails is miserable! and Im working on fixing this TODAY! I am adding a Rock Jock Antirock sway bar to my Jeep TJ Wranger. This sway bar is designed specifically for use on the trail to allow for maximum articulation while maintaining predictable body movement and minimize body sway when bouncing down the trail or on an off camber situation.

Loved my Antirock but a buddy of mine was adamant that I try a dual rate sway such as SwayLoc... basically a trail rated torsion bar within a street rated bar. I decided to give it a go in my new build & was mad at myself for not listening to him sooner. Best of both worlds. No sacrificing body roll for flex & vice versa. I will never run a single rate sway bar again. There's no going back once you've had a taste of a dual rate sway bar.
That’s intriguing! I rarely drive my TJ on the road so it hasn’t bothered me at all, BUT we had to remove the antirock sway bars from the JKU that shows up on my channel regularly because he is running front and rear 3 link setup and it couldn’t control the amount of body roll that it had on the street. On the trail it was amazing though! I may see if he will invest into a SwayLOC and test it out as well.

You should install it lower than center. You have room to go down more on the down flex which will translate to the up flex.
This is great advice, actually! The only reason I havent gone that route is only because i plan to lower my ride height once i move over to coilovers and with the steering gear in its current location, It is a bit of a hinderance. But this is something i have been working on deciding how i want to approach it.
Love the set up eventually looking to put my tj on 1 tons also what was the ticket on your set up and did you do it yourself or go through a shop
I believe my setup came in at about 8k with the cost of wheels and tires. But I did all of the work myself here on the channel and made my own long arm setup to go to it. But it is regeared and running selectable air lockers front and rear and uses the 1550 35 spline shafts. It’s been a great setup.
Do you run a rear sway bar as well? I have the stock rear with a front AntiRock on my TJ. Heard its designed to work with a stock rear or an AntiRock rear sway. So far I like mine and it is a great improvement over a disconnected front stock bar.
I don’t have the rear antirock “yet” haha. But it is one of the next things that is being added soon. Before making this video, I was able to have a long phone conversation with 2 guys from rock jock about their sway bars and they mention how the front antirock is sized in a way that it is able to function well with the stock rear sway bar, BUT you will actually get the most stability and traction with a rear antirock added. In this video I don’t have any rear sway bar attached because I have one ton axles and the stock rear sway bar doesn’t fit up to the rear axle without being an issue with ground clearance. So rather than cut off all of the brackets soon just to relocate everything, I left it bare in preparation for the rear antirock to be going in.
Axle weight and body weight directly effects how much force is applied to the torsion bar to make it twist.
I could be wrong about this. But I made sure to talk with Rock Jock tech support before ordering and when talking with them about this, they explained that the axle is unsprung weight and they do not recommend any different sway bar for one ton axles vs stock or any tire sizes. The only time they recommend changing sway bar size is when you are adding large amounts of weight inside/on the tub of the Jeep, because this would require a larger bar to mitigate the weight transitions.
I guess this is my next purchase, just butchered my sway bars off my 06 Rubicon and immediately knew my Jeep wasn't gonna cut it for going out on dates. My girl would hate riding in it. So here goes another $500, (the things we do for our women)
