Aww that flute blower was smiling when he heard the crowd cheering. Since Sweden is near Denmark, there must've been a lot of Danish support on audience.
I remember 6 years ago my 12 year-old self thought , what a voice, what a song, what a dress and what a strong and beautiful young woman! She still inspires me to this day! Truly my favourite ever Eurovision song!
@@sensorbitaccount5222 its far from her best. rainmaker and hopscotch are better by far, although i still like this and its one of my favourite 2010s winners (satellite is my fave to get an idea of my taste). 2013 was kind of a weak year though. not many memorable songs and no one projected themselves far afterwards.
@@sensorbitaccount5222I think that song is a banger, for me it’s my favorite winning song of all the shows I witnessed, I mean okay I am only 21 years old but still
One of my favorite Eurovision winners. I love the little smile the flute guy has in the beginning and Emmelie has in the end; you can really tell she was enjoying the performance.
10 years later and I still listen to it. I never thought when it won that it will be for me still my most favorite winning song of all time is. (Except of Waterloo from Abba)
I mean I absolutely love this song and Emmelie, but can we just take a second to fangirl over the drummers!? They're smiling and so excited throughout the entire performance & its adorable! They're just as excited as the audience.
for me one of the most beautifull songs ever in Eurovision and with the special sensibility, sensuality and tenderness that Emmelie transmit in addition to her special and beautifull voice...
One of my fav winner, actually my fav winner of all time....i remember i was so sure that she will win and she did,the song, her voice everything was just amazing,i still listen to it and it isn't bored and it will not be bored! I would like to she her back at Eurovision again....
@@franciscoflores1451 For me Azerbaijan was best that year. Better than Denmark. if not Azerbaijan's song Hold Me then Denmark really deserved 1st place with Only Teardrops :)
Yes i strongly agree! Whilst, GRAVITY by Zlata Ognevich of Ukraine and I FEED YOU MY LOVE by Margaret Berger of Norway, are even better than HOLD ME by Farid Mammadov of Azerbaijan!
in 2013 i was 15, and i was only a children that was fashinated by the golden rain. Now i've got 18 and see again this video after 3 years make me almost cried, give me the proof that time past very quickly. This will be a great memory that i will keep forever in my heart, as i still love this song and it's one of my favourite.
This is the result of how a good, but not a perfect song, with a good performance, good chorus, and several small but valuable details, can win the Eurovision Song Contest! The perfect combination, good work Denmark!:)
Great song!Glad it won that year becuase Denmark had amazing singers on ESC always!Emmelie de Forest did perfect just once again and won as she and Denmark deserved more then 3 times before 2014...Greetings from Serbia
The Scandinavian countries have such a huge presence in Eurovision, over the past 7 years, Scandinavian countries have won 4 times (Norway in 2009 with Alexander Rybak, Sweden in 2012 with Loreen, Denmark in 2013 with Emmelie and Sweden in 2015 with Måns) like that's just over a 50% success rate in the past 7 years with over 40 countries entering this competition, clearly the powerhouse of ESC are the Scandinavians ☺️
+venken bjorn Lel, SO true. This was a bad year for Scandinavia. And I don't regret any of them not being in the final, exception being Iceland. Greta should've passed into the final.....
+Andreas Martonosy if sweden wasn't the winner last year they would have failed making the final germany finished last in final and was better than ukraine(this song was torture for my ears)
This is my favorite winner EVER and obviously, one of my favorite ESC songs. It's been almost five years since Emmelie won, but every time I heard that song, I feel like the first time... So many memories ❤
"so come and face me now , here on the stage tonight let's leave the past behind us.... how many times do we have to fight how many times till we get it right between us " she totally sings about the history between Denmark and Sweden
This song is the most beautiful in the history of Eurovision. This girl is the most beautiful in the history of Eurovision. This voice is the most beautiful in the history of Eurovision. I love this triple record of beauty. 😍
Even PERFECT, BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, GORGEOUS are little words to describe Emmelie and this performance, this just don't have and adjetive, is THE BESTTTT
whenever I hear this song I get goosebumps, because THIS is only a real Eurovision song and winner. From recent years, you can call this a real winner and in recent years have been Only Teardrops & Europhia the real Eurovision winners.Only Teardrops and Europhia are the real Eurovision songs and winners of the recent years.
I missed ESC 2013 because I was on a school trip in Madrid. Certain events on the trip made it the moment I discovered I was gay. I think it was a fair substitute. Anyway, belated congratulations Denmark 🇩🇰
This year, Loreen repeated her victory, and the Eurovision Song Contest will again be held in Malmö next year. Emmilie please come back to Eurovision 2024! I would like another element of the history of the Competition to be repeated and that You could win this spectacle. You are one of the best winners so I believe that Emmilie de Forest will represent Denmark at Eurovision 2024, as well as its winner and will become the third person and second woman to win 2 times!!!
Aww that flute blower was smiling when he heard the crowd cheering. Since Sweden is near Denmark, there must've been a lot of Danish support on audience.
Loreen had a similar experience in Baku in the final during the beginning of her song :)
***** That's spot on, the Øresund/Öresund (Danish name/Swedish name) bridge between Malmö and Copenhagen is only 8km/5 miles.
James B. 15 for me i live 7 km from copenhagen
You go to Malmö often?
what is his name?
Still one of the best eurovision winning songs
Absolutely right!
Yes, the Best and im from Denmark shea so good
Miltiadis Apostolou le
is not one of the best winners its simply the best
no, rise like a phoenix and euphoria are better
That flute intro...Simple, but so beautiful. :) Pretty nice song :)
K-Otic - I surrender . The flute part and the rhyme are plagiarism
It's fantastic intro
Epic drum assist. The song wouldn`t have been quite as epic without the two drummers.
I agree!
Epic drum assist! Without the flute playing that magical hymn Denmark wouldn't have even won.
Wtf sean?? Ofcause they would not have won if there was no music in the background? Haha
EVER....!
The two drummers are part of a group called the Copenhagen Drummers. They've played over 1000 shows all over Europe.
I remember 6 years ago my 12 year-old self thought , what a voice, what a song, what a dress and what a strong and beautiful young woman! She still inspires me to this day! Truly my favourite ever Eurovision song!
Same thing. I had 11 year old. And i was amazed with this song. Time is go, but memories not. 😌
Like me (1 year younger🥴). What a song, what a beauty, what an absolute masterpiece!
I'm angry she wasn't commercially successful after this song, her album is lit
While it's a good winner, 'Only Teardrops' gets old really fast, unfortunately.

She is such much fun to watch. She had presence, performance, a voice. She is a very well rounded performer. It isn't surprising that she won.
