Part pie, part cookie, this is an easy and fast dessert that is sure to please any chocolate chip cookie fan! This is terrific served warm with a little vanilla ice cream or just as-is!
Love the Mixmaster! I have one that's a 1970's vintage. I'd love to get one in TURQUOISE!! I've seen them on Ebay but they can be very expensive, especially if you want matching turquoise bowls. Great recipe, I will definitely try it!
Hi Billy!! Glad to know you are a fan of the Sunbeam - aren't they great machines?? I've seen the turquoise ones from time to time - it seems like all the ones in color are a bit pricey. Hope you can give the recipe a try - thanks for watching!
What a delicious looking simple to make pie! It's hotter than blazes here, but once the temperature cools off I am definitely going to give this a try.
This weekend, I start of my "year of pies". Going to be trying alllllll sorts of different recipes, crust variations, and designs. I'll have to give this one a go, at some point. I have never heard of this, but it sounds very interesting.
If 2018 is going to be a "year of pies" then you are in for a wonderful year!!! This pie was made by a local baker and every time our friend Lisa came to visit she wanted to go to the pie shop to get this Toll House pie. When the baker retired the shop closed, and I vowed to replicate it and Lisa tells me this one is every bit as good! It's part pie, part cookie!
Love Ralph and his sayings once again!! "Oh sugar", haven't heard that expression in years! This pie looks just so good, will definitely have to make and it is definitely easy. Love the Sunbeam mixer and love that the bowl is offset, makes scraping the bowl during mixing so much easier, will be looking for one at estate sales. Thanks again Kevin and Ralph for another mouth watering video!!
Thanks, Cathy! Ralph has a million of them ;-) I love my Sunbeam mixer and use it often for lighter jobs. The way the bowl and beaters are arranged, it does make it easy to scrape and add ingredients. You'll see them for sale fairly often at sales. Thanks for watching!
This is my hubby's all time favorite! Been making it for him for more years than I care to admit! Only thing is, I only make it at Christmas. It is so easy and yummy. Love your pie baking episodes. Do you ever use crust shields?
Hi Sherry - your husband must look forward to Christmas when you make his favorite!! I do have a crust shield and have used it from time to time - especially when cooking fruit pies since they generally have to bake longer, and so the crust can get a little over browned. Thanks for watching!
This is something that I must try soon. Sounds wonderful! I wonder with all the pies you have been making if you would do a piecaken....a pie baked inside a cake? I saw one in the grocery store the other day and it was $30.00. I would love to see you bake one!
Hi guys. I was wonder, what is the texture of this pie? Is it like a big cookie or more moist than that? I would have loved to have seen a piece cut out. It sounds absolutely amazing.....I'm thinking a nice change for Thanksgiving, in addition to the mandatory sweet potato, of course! : ) Thanks for all you do. I look forward to every new video you put up. You and Ralph are a such a pleasure to watch. I love the way you interact.....I think it would be very nice to sit on the porch with a glass of wine and just chat with you all. : )
Hi Lori! Would love to sit on the porch and talk food with you!! Thanks so much! We didn't cut into the pie because we were saving it for a special friend who was coming for dinner and this is her favorite pie, so we didn't want to present her with one that was already half-eaten (although she would have understood...that's a good friend!). It has a dense texture, but moist! It chews like a big soft cookie. Hope you give it a try...it would be a great Thanksgiving addition!! Thanks for watching!!
I love your Toll House recipe! But I have to laugh.. Cuz I've been to Michigan many times in the winter! And I think you ought to have a legal disclaimer! So you can stay out of jail when it comes to that room temperature water about the eggs! LOL you better say in the summer .. I tell you I've been places in Michigan where the water comes out colder than in your refrigerator LOL just the pie looks really really good but all your cooking is always really good and knowing you if Ralph stand still too long he'll be in a pie shell. Thanks for sharing! I had a slice of this in a restaurant in 1984! I’ve dreamt about it a few times since then! Yummmy!
This is one of our favorite pies - hope you try it and it tastes like the one you remember from '84!
