Flying $200 Million Boeing 747-SP Private Jet ALONE

- I flew on a private Boeing 747-SP VIP Jet from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to Marana, AZ, USA. I was the only passenger traveling inside this $200 million flying palace private 747 jet.
Check out the luxurious interior of this ex head of state airplane in the video. Sit inside the cockpit and watch how the pilots fly the B747 classic. It was just an exhilarating and unbelievable experience flying on a B747-SP VIP plane in 2019.

I was on the first flight of the 747SP as a test engineer on July 4th, 1975 when I was in Boeing flight test (instrumentation). Our flight did not have quite the VIP treatment the king's aircraft had - in fact the interior didn't have walls or (real) seats. We had water barrels that were used to transfer the weight around the aircraft for control of the center of gravity, maybe ten or more instrumentation stations, six foot by 20 inch wide racks measuring everything the plane did during that first flight. I'm 79 now and was 32 during that flight and your video brought it all back, thanks Sam.

I was a Pan Am flight Attendant back in 1980 and always flew that same aircraft from JFK- TOKYO, JFK-RIO and SFO- HONG KONG . The upper deck galley in your video brought back many memories . It may interest you to know that Pan Am flight attendants gave input in the design of the original galleys . Nothing changed in the upper deck galley! 41 years later , the 747SP at Pan Am remains the most beautiful, luxurious aircraft flying the skies.

my father first started flying the dc9 in the late 60s to mid 70s for southern and then switched over to northwest airlines. He also flew the 747-200s for northwest airlines / orient starting in the late 70s 80s 90s and 00s until his retirement in 08, he absolutely loved these beasts with all analog functions. I started my career in his footsteps with American in 1999 started flying 757s until 2015 and now flying 787 Dreamliners. My sister also flies for southwest airlines. Love the SP! I’ll never forget my last flight on the SP on the Qantas SYD-PPT-LAX route in July 1996. So cool disembarking via stairs in Tahiti to have an up close look at this beautiful machine.

Love how the pilots are not even dressed as pilots, idk why that appealed to me
Cus they don’t care, they’re flying private, in a maintenance flight, idk.
they’re ferry pilots
at that point in their career, they're prolly even retired, like, some graduated mo-fos right there
I loved the truck driver look !
most pilots aren't dressed up as pilots. its because you want to be comfortable for long flights.

The 747 has such an iconic silhouette! To me, all new airplanes look alike…
Got to fly a dozen times in the 747 when I was a kid, late 80s. Paris to New Delhi! Back then, kids could go in the cockpit to see the pilots.
The 747's for me are the best ever. Love your videos Sam. I miss travelling. stay safe.
The parties you could have on that thing.....it's so cool to see a bunch of guys wearing t-shirts and jeans flying a 747
Ryan Myhand Jeffrey Epstein thought the same, I guess.
It’s more common than you think. On the freighters for long flights, pilots wear whatever they want.
Ryan Myhand never in my life ever thought about having a party on an airplane😂
I would have a Jazz party on it...
This is probably the best mustache I've ever seen this 2019!

Sam, I love your enthusiasm for aviation....
I had the great privilege of been part of the maintenance crew looking after this great flying beast in the late 90's early 00's. I am really happy to see her still flying. Was not sure what happened to her affter FLS Airospace at Stanstead Airport UK went bust in 2004! Great video, has brought back many memories of long hours crawling through her tight areas keeping her airworthy. Keep up the good work of showing these giants of the sky Sam!!!

The one thing money can't buy: Good taste!
The thing is the decor is 90s/00s, which is when this was acquired by the Qataris. At the time, it probably would have been quite nice, but I don't think it's that bad. The colour scheme could do with being updated, but everything is great.
Luxurious, but grotesque!

So nostalgic watching the old pro's preparing and then flying the aircraft. Sam you have a way of capturing the emotion of the event. Nuff Respect 👍
This plane is spacious, love the bedroom. It's so wow.
My dad Richard Sias was an interior designer for this plane. I remember him showing me his drawings when I was a kid. It was a hard plane interior to do because the customer wanted more gold and weight was an ongoing issue.
Whata shame

I love your passion Sam. The 747 is certainly iconic. I had the privilege to fly one with Qantas in 1988 from San Fran to Honolulu. Very special.
Sam, I enjoyed this video. I’ve always had great affection for the amazing SP. I had an unforgettable journey on the Air Namibia SP and managed a jump seat for the final part of the flight into Windhoek. The aircraft, scenery and whole experience are indelible in my mind. It was magical.

A friend was involved with the interiors. All materials used in the aircraft's interior are natural, no synthetic fabrics were used. Unless it's been removed, an interesting feature not seen was a complete surgery in the cargo level. The original owner had a heart issue and traveled with a surgical staff and cardiologist, just in case.
That's awesome
