Hi, thank you for sharing. Does the box support 4K@24fps H.265 10 bit decoding? Does it support HDR10+ and HDR Dolby vision for contents with these HDR formats? What is the maximum bit rate? 🤔

Hi Michael, Any idea how well it performs upscaling compared to NVIDIA shield Pro.
Considering the fact it has much weaker CPU - it is not impressive, but one can say it's fine.

You can enable that with some apps.
I have this a 32 gb version of this box I was able to get for 30 bucks with a gift card. It's an excellent box for the money. I have spent more for boxes that did not perform this well.
Yeah, I remember the price was around 38 when got it shipped, but the delivery took a while and the review came out a little late... With the restrictions around the virus prices got higher...
Its not 40$ price is more than double, these things will sell faster , fake video - the price is from far away + transport , does not worth it

Try a different sound setting from the menus.
I've got this box and it turns itself on randomly very often. It fails to read my external HDD sometimes and I've got to unplug and replug in the HDD. The micro SD card reader does not work at all.
That sounds bad! As if there's something wrong with the mainboard...
Hello. I'm trying to connect my bluetooth keyboard. I can connect it without problems but when I press it nothing happens on x96 air. the strange thing is that the same keyboard works fine on my phone and pc. what is the problem? Does the x96 air have a lock or blacklist when it comes to keyboards? hae pigeon hosted this problem before? I know a lot and have tried a lot.
You may try going to the settings in the TVbox and check the keyboard settings. Other than that - might be that they've removed the generic USB drivers from the ANdroid build.

Depends. THere are a few really interesting and fresh Amlogic options. The 922 series are pretty cool

the one that is included is one I like but it is very unstable and stops working suddenly and then it won't open again until you factory reset the android box
Have tried many launchers but they are often made stupidly, wrongly.
For example, the CZcams app does not appear in the list on all launchers

Did you try Nova Launcher?
@@TechMishka Yes, but the point is not to have an almost completely normal android like you have on your phone, but a bit nicer.
mbox launcher is nice simple in the right way without getting messy if you understand? Many launchers are not well made if you ask me.

@@TechMishka , I have an earlier version of the X96 (not the Air 8k, but it has good specs) but the apps either are not available or do not allow broadcasting in their form for it. It's frustrating, since I got extra memory for it and I was looking forward to using it to livestream, but I guess they didn't expect this market to pop up with covid as it has. Anyway, it would be great to see an alternative to the high priced Nvidia monopoly on this simple function.

Not sure about the surfshark VPN; if it works fine on your smartphone - it will work.

Sounds like it doesnt have the codecs on hardware level, or your player is not set to use them.

VPN connection works just fine with wireless.
That racing game just proves how far these cheap, tiny SoCs have gone. The performance is certainly not very smooth but the graphics quality is Playstation 3-level.

@@TechMishka Yes wifi speed is good but cpu score is not so good.
This box renders at 1080p and outputs at 4k. This in not a true 4k output. I have one, and I can tell that on a 4k screen, the render is 1080p, pixels are big. The rezolution shows as 4k. It is basically a scam.
Is your resolution set to 4K? Also - note that most boxes run the interface in 1080p, and only switch to 4K when you play videos. Easy check is with youtibe.

Hello. Why are almost all cheap Android TV boxes made so wrong?
Everyone has big problems with overheating!
Had PCB. card been turned upside down and a small heatsink had been fitted to cpu. and some holes in the plastic, the tv box had become MUCH better!
Looks like they prioritize production cost over effectiveness. Nice mod!

Good hardware but not the best hardware out there since it only uses 3gb memory and arm53 and 32gb storage,

@@TechMishka Sorry for the delay in response, Mine worked for about 10 minutes, very poorly. I turned it off to try on a different tv, nothing. Went back to the first tv, nothing. I'm in the process of returning it to the shop !?
