7:30 Exactly! Those are keyboards made by usually one single designer and only 100-500 are made so it costs more to produce them. Seeing big brands make mid keyboards and put them at a high prices doesn’t make sense. If they’re mass produced they should cost less, not more…

I don't see anything about this keyboard that would be considered objectively higher quality than the QK75n. Maybe the larger screen of the azoth, but I think the materials, polished weight, catch ball mechanism, magnetic daughter board, and multiple layout options on the PCB of the QK75n more than make up for any difference in screen quality.

At this point in time, I think there is really two types of keyboards that make sense to buy. Hall Effect Rapid Triggers for the best performance and really any decent mechanical keyboard to customize yourself, both can be had for quite a bit less than 500$.
Hall Effect gives you the best performance and offering such a generic "Gamer" Keyboard without them at 500$ is criminal. Any of this "8K Polling" will never have any noticeable impact compared to a well implemented rapid trigger. I think this alone makes this keyboard feel like a borderline scam, honestly.
I also feel like the screen and the dial are really more a gimmick than anything useful and - in my opinion - should have been left out for a more reasonable pricepoint.
Overall, this seems like something no one will buy, because why should they.

Or a full custom if thats what youre into, personaly i more care about the gaming preformance, then sound , looks etc.

Since this is marketed towards gamers, ( hence the classic and getting old fast all black look) more than custom keyboard enthusiasts, ASUS should have included hall effect switches on this board. I think they did an AMAZING job for combining both the gaming world and custom keyboard world for this one. It sounds steep but I don’t think the $500 price tag for this is bad. You are getting a lot all while you can still customize it. The only downer that I’ve notice was that it sounded hallow during your type test. It didn’t sound bad, just slightly on the hallow side. Normally you can fix this with foam but it may be a challenge with this keyboard since they implemented that unique hard/soft design. With all of that being said, I have built about 10 custom keyboards from scratch and will be adding this one to my collection!!!! Solid Review Frank

I picked up the first one upon release and was planning on ordering this day one but $500? You could get a Wuque Studio Freya for that or Mode Sonnet which has many more options and is a true custom board... I wish them luck I guess. I would pay $300, maybe $350 but not $500, that is a little insane especially considering that the software is pretty much unusable. When you take into account all the very nice fully AL budget boards in 2023, like the Rainy75, ND75, AL75, SK75 etc... the price is even more confusing, especially for a north facing PCB. While not fully AL the Nuphy Halo75 sounds and feels great and is truly an RGB powerhouse on top of it. Love the board and you did a great review... just the pricing seems a little poorly planned out by Asus.

$500 and no hall effect. I thought the Lamzu Board was steep. 8k polling and no hall effect is crazy.
Just get a wooting or drunk deer board or a razer or corsair board if you want 8K.
This is pretty much for enthusiasts. Like the Razer Viper Mini Signature.

It's not a bad keyboard considering that these are all features that 300-400 dollar boards have as well, but north facing leds, despite it not really being an issue with current switches/keycaps, is a bit iffy.
So because of that, 350-450 would be fair and 500 would only make sense if it was on groupbuy, imo.

I've used regular Azoth for two years now. The main selling points are: 2000hr wireless (its true) + oled screen. But those two things work against each other. The regular version has plastic bottom and is stiff even after modding - this one is better but no one should buy at that price. Personally I would prefer a wireless HE version with a knob.

WOW, $500 for a keyboard. You can get a PC for that price. I don't think it is worth the cost because the battery will not last long due to the mini display screen, and I don't see a primary volume dial as I like to control this on my keyboard.
