I'm not so sure. If I didn't already know I'd think they keyboard was special and that I don't need a key or switch puller to disassemble it.
For those who want to recreate this: Just hotswap the switches and keycaps with what you prefer and lube them. The Azoth is already built well enough, you dont need to replace any inside and its a waste of money. Tho it doesn't remove the crappy software.
totally agreed, azoth itself is good enough.
The foam will likely silence it too much.

Great results Mr.Keybay ! But why would you even buy the Azoth in the first place if doing all these tweaks? There must be a lot of cheaper boards out there with similar base quality for you to perform the same mods on.

The 2.4ghz wireless on this keyboard is a lot faster than basically anything else, so if you're using it for gaming I'd say it's worth it. The only thing you're missing out on are hall effect switches you could get in the Apex Pro Mini, but that one doesn't sound as nice.

Hey hi, what do you think of the stock stabs is it good?? I'm planning to replace mine with Durock V2 or GSV2 stabs but still can't decide which or just not replace it?
Their stock stabs design is kinda wired, I highly recommend you replace them with any plate stabs. durock is great btw.

@@TheEightDomain I dont think one is better than others or not. Some custom boards only support PCB stabs and Azoth only support Plate Stabs.
@@keybaytech I see, thank you... btw is the stock alu plate of Azoth thicker than FR4 plate?? I want to change mine to FR4 hoping the switch/keycaps will sit deeper so I wont see the switches from the front.

great modding, but for my part just did the removale of extra foam at the bottom and used my own ttc silver v1 switch lubbed and modded and sound great just not a fan of the default keycaps .

My personal understanding of this is that the primary function of a mod kit is to reduce internal keyboard noise or hollowness when typing. I must say that the original Azoth is already quite good, but the metal plate and rubber padding can't fully dampen the noise. Since the interaction between the switch, plate, and PCB is a mechanical structure, mechanical collisions inevitably produce noise. The padding in the mod kit effectively absorbs this noise.
The main reason for this typing sound is the Cheese switch. My friend, the cheese switch designer chose molds from HMX manufacturer and implemented a unique lubrication method during the design process. This gives the cheese switch poppy sound while effectively reducing the friction within the mechanical structure of the switch, making it smoother. Therefore, our cheese switch can be used directly without the need for additional hand lube.
and of course, this is just my personal understanding of this matter. If there are any mistakes, please feel free to correct me.
I am very sorry, because I have already throw away the original plate from Azoth, so I may not be able to help you with testing. However, I believe that if you directly replace the original Azoth switches with Cheese switches, the sound should be quite good as well.
