    We really need more alternatives for Wacom. They're prices are BEYOND ridiculous and there's no way I would support them even if I had 6K in the bank for their tablet and their stupid holding Arm.
    Right now I got a portable XP-Pen Innovator 16. It's a little small but it's the most portable display tablet in the market I think. It's super thin, has solid metal bezels and it doesn't have a power adapter, it draws energy from USB, with 2 USBs and one HDMi so I can use it on a laptop. Only 400$ plus I recommend getting a storage case. The pens are flimsy though, mine only lasted a year but at 13$ I don't mind.

    Advice to Blender's users: don't waste your money on tablet with buttons. I have the XP-PEN 24R Pro, with 20 buttons & 2 wheels. I've end up using the keyboard. Blender has so many shortcuts that make it not tablet friendly.

    • @jamesbullo
      @jamesbullo Před 2 lety +3

      I have the same tablet and you can program different layouts for different programs. It's personal preference but I'm much faster with my hand on the side of the tablet rather than off to the side on a keyboard. (I assume you meant the 24 Artist Pro?)

      Does your version of the pentablet app not have the customization options for the buttons where you can use the keyboard? I use XP-PEN Artist 12 and my pentablet app allows me to use my keyboard to put in multiple custom inputs for one button.

    The pen curve on the Kamvas Pro 22 from 2019 was awful, no amount of fiddling with the settings could save it. It used to have a little spike in the middle of a stroke, meaning you couldn't have a smooth and progressive line like the one you show at 1:13. I had to shelve it and buy something else. Looks like they solved the issue?

    • @migovas1483

    • @migovas1483
      @migovas1483 Před 2 lety +2

      @@faustNebel Wacom is still like the Premium value, they used to have well built models, and slightly more responsive Pen, specially for light hand artists. But the difference in price is too much, considering the difference in quality. And they have very strange policies like sticking with one model for like 5 years or so? Another thing is The release of the Cintiq22, is the most strange thing ever, not a laminated display, and not QHD display either, is just 1080p and is still expensive considering these two factors.

    • @faustNebel
      @faustNebel Před 2 lety +1

      @@migovas1483 I bought a cintiq 16 2 weeks ago, and yeah, I feel like I miss some QOL features, but the core experience of using the pen is untouched by any Huion, Xpen and Artisul I owned or tried. That's why I can't wait for other brands to match the actual drawing experience. Wacom is backward on a lot of things, and they deserve to have their lunch eaten. Can't count the number of artist friends who told me the Wacom support is wack, too. But for now, for all their faults, they're still the best if you value the feel of the pen above all.

    • @migovas1483
      @migovas1483 Před 2 lety

      @@faustNebel If you are used to the Pen on Wacom then is better to stick with it for a while, as I mention light hand artist will benefit more from the wacom pen activation pressure, that is what used to be the main selling point, also your experience with Huion pen 2.0 was probably not a good one, and if you need that light activation, even the pen 3.0 which is better, is still a bit behind Wacom.
      Probably the next one will match it 100%, just as they did with the screens. I have a firm hand drawing technique so, I am pretty cool with Huion pen 3.0. and a 24 laminated Display , also is 50-50, 2D and 3D sculpt, so not so much 'Fine Art' .
      Would I wish a Cintiq Pro 24? Sure bits, but not for Double the price + the Arm! The graphic Display is already an investment, you need to know if you are getting THAT much benefit from that price difference! Is up to what you do, or how much money you can use.
