This is great as there is very little HNIC tape of this era involving 67 expansion teams

Oh Saturday nights at the Forum...just so special...no place or city like it in the league...and then the nightlife after.

The Montreal nightlife is right up there with NYC and Los Angeles, late night clubbing, 24 hour restaurants, making Love afterwards. On the other hand, I unfortunately live in the Toronto area where the Hockey fans head home, even on the weekends, to go straight to bed to sleep.

Kings snuck into the playoffs and upset the Seals. Then they were swept by the Blues in the West final.

Scotty Bowman, of course was the coach of that Blues
Team that got swept by Les Canadiens who would have thought
Scotty Bowman would go on to win 9 Stanley Cups
Bowman is regarded as the greatest coach in NHL history.

Wouldn't colour videotape footage from a game like this be even more neat to see, even though this is a very nice find.

They were broadcast in color but taped in black and white. CBC/SRC were too cheap to use color video tape. Also, they would often re-use tapes so a lot of games are lost forever because such classics as the 1971 series between the Bruins and Habs were taped over with episodes of the Tommy Hunter Show or some other CBC crap.

I was waiting for René Lecavalier to mention his name during the broadcast but it seems he never did, just calling him 'the goalie'.@@delmofritz3964

In those days, a tie game would have been like a loss for the Habs.

Any chance you have the Habs/Kings SCF preview from January 1993?

Hooray the good old days of ties instead of that stupid shoot out. Anyone know who the Kings goalie was?
