    Great info. I did this on a fiberglass hood on my 65 years ago. Luckily I got it right the first time. I've become more comfortable doing all these projects on my ride because of your knowledge and direction. Thank you for the videos! Keep em coming on the Mustangs!

    The same Hood pin kit I have on my 67. Which is basically the same is what came on my dad's 69 Mach 1. I swear it's something about Hood pins that make it always look better.

      I wasn't excited about them...until I saw them on the hood.

    I decided to finally leave a comment and have been a fan for sometime now and noticed that I had an opportunity as there were no views and comments. Keep up the great work and spreading the knowledge.

    By leaving the paper protective cover on when you pop rivet it won't it cause for a loose rivet after it falls out

    I guess you just made me a craftsman because I've had my share of mistakes I've had to repair or hide (it's amazing what you can do with a good quality rattle can and some buffing).

      Well, every craftsman I know has had those mistakes that chewed up their work. The ones I have watched that made those mistakes in my presence work around the problem. It is impressive to see a guy or gals mind at work when a problem hits. The really good ones, make lemonade from the lemons!

    Just a 7/8 hole in the hood you said that like it was nothing lol. Btw when you drilled that 1/2 hole for the pin you can see that screw for the headlight surround fall almost out😆

      Don't get us started on the headlight surrounds...

    My bumper brackets aren't even at the same height for some obscure reason... I want to fit pins when I switch my hood so I guess it's core support mount for me..

    I kinda was wondering if you might know if any place makes hood pins that would work on a 1976 ford f100 custom? because it kinda scars me when I'm on the road doing 55 or 60 at that speed my hood starts shaking and I don't want it to fly up as I'm driving down the road

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  Před 5 lety +2

      Look into the latch/hood bumper setup, it sounds like the latch position needs adjusting. We'll be doing a video on getting the fenders and hood on the F100 soon. And I'll cover this.

    wait...so I can get rid of my hood latch assembly by doing this? i honestly don't know why i didn't think of this before (or why I hadn't noticed it missing on some of the cars I've looked at).

    Jeff what do you think of the hood pin kits that use a round key to lock the hood. ? some one has already drilled my hood for pins. i was thinking that with the locks it might slow down the dumb crooks just a little bit. awesome video as always.

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  Před 5 lety +1

      Eh, I don't like the look as much. I'd be ore worried about the doors. Most vintage Mustangs can be broken into by a four year old high on chocolate and red bull.

      my cousin who i got my car from. told about a trick that is supposed to work. he said get a coil from a Ford model T and some how you can wire it up ,so when someone messes with your car/truck they get shocked. in today,s sue happy world i don,t think that would be a good idea. i have a set of og. slim door lock knobs on the car now. but they just might only slow down the stupid crooks. thanks for answering my question.
