Yes, do fenders episode! Thanks guys, you all do great work!
Please do an episode on hanging the fenders! Thanks guys.
Yes defiantly interested in seeing the fenders installed.
DEFINITELY want to see that episode on hanging the fenders! please do one!
Jeff, per your question in this episode, yes I would be interested in seeing you do an episode on fender fitting, alignment, and potential fitment mods. Thanks, Dave
Here ya GO!

Another vote for a fender episode. You can run up to Raleigh and help me out on my 67 this weekend...like wrestling an octopus. As one area falls into place...another falls out...
LOL. We have friends up there so...never know! And we completely understand that problem.
might want to hurry....I have the hammer out :)
HHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I won’t even tell you what I had to do to my R model valence to fit my POS 66 mustang way back in the day!
Also, glad to see that is Chevy guys aren’t the only ones having problems having aftermarket parts fit!
You guys are awesome. You need your own show!
From Jeff: I thought that was what we were doin...
One of the reasons I enjoy the show so much is that you guys have to suffer through the same stuff the rest of us do. Apart from the always useful information, one of the most consistent messages I get is, "don't worry, it's not just you or your car, there's no secret here, you're gonna have to fit and fiddle."
Doing a more detailed episode on getting fender and body alignment right would be awesome. Because, after all, the gap you can get at the doors has to be mirrored at the fenders and the hood unless you want your car to look mugged.
Thanks! We try to convey that you can do it. The difference between a professional and "the rest of us" is they know how to hide mistakes. LOL.
Do a video on aligning fenders please! my fender gaps are horrible 😩 even though they're both original ford
I have 65 coupe and this is my next project
love the vids, you guys should try to put shelby taillights it would look sick 😊
69 Fender installment please. I figured the 65 would be close. Would definitely like to see it. Thanks
id love to see a fender episode
brake suggestion/something i'd like to see an install on is Mustang Steve's late model brake kit for classic mustang's
Hmmm. We like the idea. But we are looking to possibly being able to run 15 inch wheels. We will however consider it.
Thanks ,Nice video helps alot here
I would really like to see the Shelby method for flaring the fenders (front and rear) for the R-model's wheel/tire clearance.
Whew, I'll have to get with my Shelby guys on that one. It will be a bit before we can tackle it for sure.
please do a video on how to install and align 65-66 fenders!
Here ya go! czcams.com/video/CPNpLqBZHSg/video.html
Yes! Fenders episode.
Fender episode.
You guys are great and really funny! But yes we need a fender video! I kinda slammed them already and only 1 find like a glove and the other, well it fit like a sock on your hand lol mittens if you know what am saying hahahaha
For sure. These cars can be very food on one side and very bad on the other.
Did I hear you mention Street or Track? Can't wait to see what you guys do with them!
Yes. We are working on getting the brakes for he car. Possibly Mustang Steve's kit. BUT that requires a wheel change. So we are still thinking.
Nice! I commented before getting to the end of the video and seeing that unmistakable coilover kit. Once I'm done playing phone tag with Shaun, I'll have the same set on the way!
Side note: NEVER apologize for a Star Wars reference!
LOL OK! Since we have your permission! =) Be sure to let him know you saw it with us!
Any videos on repairing leaking cowl vents. I had to cut a section of mine out to get to them.
Not yet!
Why don't you guys get a freaking lift already.... great video, thanks.
We hear ya. Some shoots would be a lot easier for sure (Transmission, Exhaust, Suspension etc.). We're working on getting one, but a lift is sometimes out of reach for our viewers so we have been a little loath to do it. BUT we're getting close!
best situation is to start with OEM or Ford tooling fenders and OEM headlight buckets and Cobra Automotive Shelby R model apron. I know the OEM fenders and buckets are hard to find but at least consider the Cobra Automotive apron, its what all the Shelby vintage racers and Shelby open track racing circuits across america use. you cant beat race proven parts. I believe NPD sells Fiberglass Specialties brand Aprons.
OEM is great, but even over here in the south, they are HARD to find. thanks for the heads up on the Cobra Automotive part!
From all the pictures I've seen, it appears that vertical lip on the apron is supposed to go behind the headlight. No trimming should be needed.
I clench my fists and scream to the Heavens Above - SAFETY GLASSES
Yes. We have had some issues with fogging that can be as dangerous as the other. BUT saying that, you are right and we'll try to do better.
Shop Cat will be watching ... ;)
Crap, now I have to clean the Dr. Pepper I spewed off of my safety glasses...
fender episode
please do a fender episode
As long as Cam ordered the bolts we are doing it for our 6.1.17 episode.
I would have made much thicker backing plates. And welding the nuts to the backing plates make life a whole lot easier.
We said that we would recommend that you go with a thicker plate (16 gauge over our 20). Welding the nuts would reduce the "wiggle room" that you have with your nuts being loose...
Even 16 gauge is a little on the light side. If you can bend it by hand then it can distort when you tighten the mounting hardware. It is called a backing plate not a backing sheet.:D And if you weld the nuts to the plates you just make the mounting holes in the valance slightly larger. That allows more adjustment of the panel without the hassle of trying to start the bolts whiling fighting with the valance, backing plates and loose nuts. But whatever, that's the nice thing about this hobby. There is more then one way to accomplish the same goals.
And why we like for folks like you to comment! We have learned a great deal of stuff from our viewers.
This is some slight wrong advice. You should offer the part up and if something interferes with it sitting right if possible remove the thing that interferes and offer it up again to ensure it will fit at all before you do any cutting as you may have the wrong part and you can't return something you've cut! Also you may get a better sense of where and how much to cut.
Those R valances always looked bad 👎
To each his or her own.
