While some people view hood pins as an aesthetic modification, hood pins should be functional. These hood pins are made of Stainless Steel and are highly recommended for 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 or 1973 Mustangs with aftermarket fiberglass hoods.

Common sense tip make sure you're happy with alignment gap with the hood and fenders before installing these. The rear of the hood can be leveled with the fenders using shims and the front can be adjusted within the hood latch if it's still present or the stops on the pins.
put a dab of grease on the tip of the pin to mark the hood for drilling.
This is an excellent tip, made it so much easier
Just finished mine up a few minutes ago. No more worries of old latch and hood blowing up on me no more.
That is a nice looking mustang
Is there some kind of hood lock that can be installed on a 67 coupe? And I don't mean locking hood pins.
I would like to get some twist locks on my hood, do I have to go the same way as shown here? And will they fit a larger Ford full-size?
Got these for my 17
Where'd you get the hood?
I've been considering this Scott Drake billet pin set but I'm tossing up between these ones and the Shelby ones with 'Shelby GT-500' stamped on them. I'm just not sure if the GT-500 ones would look too bulky and stand out too much versus the more simple and clean look of this set. Opinions?
It really comes down to the style you are looking for, personally I prefer the vintage look of these. Both sets are made by Scott Drake.
My hood clamp gets stuck. So I removed it. Will these pins hold down the hood. Without the original clamp?
Idk if you found ur answer but I have the same problem. I met a guy with a real 66 gt350 and those never even had a hood latch, just the pins holding the hood down so if this guy is willing to drive his $200,000 car with just pins I'd say it's probably safe to do so.
Too bad you did not go into how to remove the old heavy latch assembly. I plan of doing this mod to my 66. Thanks for the video

You guys sell that hood?
So how did y'all get the hood to sit back flush with the fenders!?
The nuts for the pins were the same height as the original hood bumper we removed. If they are off you can use some small rubber hose as spacers.
Thanks dude.
Great tip, thanks!
What grille is that? I have a 1968 could you post the link for me? Thanks
It is an older grill that was discontinued.
Where do you guys get this hood?!
It was made by a vendor no longer in business.
Stick on pins are for loosers
That would be "losers". Looser is the opposite of tight...
