A lot of these pitchers got triples on what would have been doubles by normal hitters. This video kind of proves that if you hustle you have a good shot of extending 2 into 3.
Not really. A lot of these outfielders are playing shallow. You have to take that into your point of view because they don't expect pitchers to hit it that far. Just by hustling doesn't mean you can extend a double into a triple because for normal batters the outfielders will position themselves so the ball doesn't get by them.
And to think the MLB is talking about taking the bat out of the pitcher's hands permanently. I say don't do that! There are some pitchers who can swing a hot bat and I say the pitcher should be able to hit for himself in the National League when usually when it's his turn at the plate, he's usually up there to bunt. This video proves that some pitchers can swing the stick and do it well.
MrGosportsteam Was wondering why A-Gon was playing right, then wondered even more when he 2-hopped a throw to second. I get its an NL park but if he is that much of a defensive liability just play hom at first or figure something else out.
Two-homer games by pitchers. Here are two from my youth: 1. Tony Cloniger hitting two grand slams in a game in 1966. Until Fernando Tatis did it in 1999, it was the only time an NL player hit rwo slams in a game. 2. Rick Wise hit two homers in a no-hitter he pitched in 1971.
Abeagle24 Craig Lefferts hit a walk off home run in 1986. Lester had a walk-off sac bunt last year. I'm sure there are a few more in between. Especially in long extra innings games, pitchers sometimes have to bat in clutch situations, when teams run out of position players.
Babe Ruth had over 100, and Prince Fielder hit for the cycle. Dmitri Young, who was one of the fattest players in history GAVE UP a cycle (he had a homer, triple and single, and then hit another triple, when he could’ve chosen to stop at 2B. YCPB!
Disappointed that Greg Maddux's first one wasn't on here. Ozzie Guillen said it had replaced the Kentucky Derby as the most exciting two minutes in all of sports.
That was back when he was with Boston. For interleague games, they wanted Ortiz at 1B, so Gonzo was moved to the OF. The result wasn't the prettiest though, as can be seen here.
If Cahill's, Arrieta's (against SD), and Perdomo's (first two) were scored as triples, that's crazy. There were a few others that were questionable, too. If a guy plays a single into a "triple" by making a stupid dive or slide (or just letting it get by) or fails to catch a fairly routine fly ball because he overruns it, those should NOT be scored as triples.
You made this too soon to catch Perdomo's *fourth* triple of 2017. Which led to him actually making the first page of the ESPN NL leaderboard for triples: www.espn.com/mlb/stats/batting/_/year/2017/league/nl/sort/triples/order/true
Jeez 0:52 had a no hitter and it way broken up by a pitcher hitting a triple. You don't see that every day
Calder MacKillop I thinking the same thing, the one guy you don't expect to get a hit, let alone a triple
All we need is bartolo colon breaking up a pie the game with a infield in park homerun
A lot of these pitchers got triples on what would have been doubles by normal hitters. This video kind of proves that if you hustle you have a good shot of extending 2 into 3.
AJ Metzy always try your best.
Well, Anthony Bass's was probably an inside-the-park home run for a lot of hitters :D

And yet they give pitchers like 10/99 speed in mlb the show. They're the real runners!
And for those speedsters, it’s can be an inside-the-parker.
Best highlights in MLB. Actually showing good highlights rather than home runs all the time
The Dbacks and Cubs are good at these apparently
William Ogden and the Reds and Phillies too
NHL 17 Drafty true
Does Arrieta have the most triples by a pitcher in baseball right now?
Trainlover 4449 lol I think he might
NHL 17 Drafty and the Padres
Pitchers should have to hit. I like the NL. It adds an X-factor to the game in many ways.
I was watching waiting for some AL pitchers to show up but then realized...
Obviously Polanco needs to work on his plays off the wall
and effort. Lollipopped that one throw in
To be fair. Polanco needs to work on everything. Had all the potential but his attitude is absolute garbage.
God damn I love this channel.

how about pitchers playing the field (travis wood in left) or guys playing a completely different position than usual (adrian gonzalez in right)
MrGosportsteam Was wondering why A-Gon was playing right, then wondered even more when he 2-hopped a throw to second. I get its an NL park but if he is that much of a defensive liability just play hom at first or figure something else out.
A-Gon was in right so Ortiz could play 1B. Pretty sure that was back in 2012.
Roy Oswalt played an inning in left field for the Phillies in 2010.
Best CZcams channel ever
Daniel Baez
J
mpc97 you haven’t seen CZcams
Whenever anyone says we should have a universal DH just show them this video.
Excellent collection. Thank you sir.
I've been following your channel for a while but this is the video that finally convinced me to subscribe. Love the content!
vigintiunus same
0:13 legend has it that the announcer is still saying "trip" to this day
This doubles as a "missed cutoff man" compilation
Some of these guys would have easily been safe at home
Perhaps if they were regular speedsters, not 6'6" pitchers less accustomed to running.
More like "Outfield mess-ups"
Nash wayz Not specific
Essentially what triples/ITPHRs are.
How about "Hanley Ramirez's helmet falling off on swings and misses"
I love how Arrieta is a good chunk of these. Dudes is a legitimate weapon as a batter.
About as rare as seeing Yogi Bear avoiding pick-en-ick baskets to observe Lent
Longer vid than I thought it would be
Jake Aritita did it 4 times in a row in this video damn
as an Orioles fan, seeing him succeed elsewhere pains me.
however, i am glad for him. he wouldn't get those chances in Baltimore.
Same but 2 times in a row with cris rusin
Best MLB CZcamsr please never stop uploading!
Glad you liked the idea!! Nice Video!
Jake Arrieta talk was a hell of a hitter for a pitcher same with Cole hamels

How about pitchers hitting walkoffs. Or if there's not enough clips for that, pitchers getting clutch hits.
marlzach pitchers would be lifted and a pinch hitter would be in their place if it gets to walkoff situation
Abeagle24 Craig Lefferts hit a walk off home run in 1986. Lester had a walk-off sac bunt last year. I'm sure there are a few more in between. Especially in long extra innings games, pitchers sometimes have to bat in clutch situations, when teams run out of position players.
marlzach i saw a pinch hitting pitchers video where yovani gallardo had a walk off hit
Yovanni Gallardo hit a walk off double a few years back
If only Bartolo Colon had hit a triple at any time in his career
Babe Ruth had over 100, and Prince Fielder hit for the cycle. Dmitri Young, who was one of the fattest players in history GAVE UP a cycle (he had a homer, triple and single, and then hit another triple, when he could’ve chosen to stop at 2B.
YCPB!
0:43 Take your time, outfielder.
There is a lot of these against Miami and Cincinnati!
Good Videos man keep it up
Disappointed that Greg Maddux's first one wasn't on here. Ozzie Guillen said it had replaced the Kentucky Derby as the most exciting two minutes in all of sports.
I understand why a lot of these are in San Francisco due to the dimensions… but that’s a surprising number at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
Hey man could you do what you did for July and do the August losing announcers calls on walk offs? Thanks you're the best baseball youtuber great work
ADRIAN GONZALEZ IN RIGHT FIELD?!? One of these videos about players playing positions you wouldn't expect might be fun.
That was back when he was with Boston. For interleague games, they wanted Ortiz at 1B, so Gonzo was moved to the OF. The result wasn't the prettiest though, as can be seen here.
Hey man! Love the content. I was actually your 3rd subscriber. Could you do a "Pitchers almost hitting home runs" video?
I'll add it to my future idea list, but this one could be hard to find videos for
Good video
Krod blowing saves!!
matt cain throwing dirty two seamers to lefties
Chris freakin' Rusin has multiple career triples. That's your random fact of the day.
Do any pitchers have inside the parkers?
You should make a video of American League pitchers getting hits.
The cubs are dominating at it
CZcams wanted me to watch this video bad. It stayed in my recommended lol
Same
Beauty of the NL
The little montage of jake arrieta
Missing the greatest one, Jonathan Sanchez against the Padres in game 162 to seal the NL West for then Giants in 2010!
Can you do pitchers hitting inside the park home runs
You should do relievers getting hits
1:18 Sanchez got that moob momentum going.
who was the pitcher that gave up the triple to Anibal Sanchez
11:04 Luis Perdomo, the StatCast legend.
Arrieta 🐐
The best part is watching them run
Got an idea: tying the game on a passed ball/wild pitch
This one is getting added to the list!
No Al Leiter?
Can you do pitchers break up no-hitters/perfect games?
David Di Pavlov there arent a lot
David Di Pavlov id expect there’s only 1 - 3 of those lol
These pitchers need to unhook their trailers. Lol
What? Adrian Gonzalez in right field?
Cole Hamels is basically buxton
Sanchez... S A N C H E Z
I'm a pitcher I hit 3 triples, 1 double, and 1 single I just needed to hit a homerun for the cycle
I love baseball.
Cole was booking it.
this is why the national league is better
Do pitchers hitting grand slams
Hell yeah The Padres killed this vid.

a triple for a pitcher is an inside-the-park HR for everyone else lol
These pitchers are really hustling on the bases most of these r just routine doubles for position players
I wish Bartolo just once had tripled.
5:57 🙏🏻😍
Miami seems to be the team you want to play against if you want to get alot of triples
Back to back Patrick
how many of these are outfield errors
5:07 guess BJ Upton is used to not hustling and giving up triples
Rip Jose Fernandez
Perdomo had another triple in the last game of the year
Why did Arrieta have 4 in a row?
Next video: Aaron Judge striking out and then walking the very next 2 at bats
Too short
you cant walk in an at bat
9:58 - 10:29 shoutouts to gregory polanco
Hamels' triple was all hang time! Coleman's, in contrast, was all hustle!
Where's CJ Wilson's triple against the Astros?
The poor Padres will never have a no hitter lmao
Out-of-shape millionaires running as fast as they can.
Naaman Story wtf pitchers are in as good of shape as any athlete they just don't practice running and agility as much
So basically...they’re out of shape.
Didn’t Al Leiter hit a triple for the Mets in the late 1990s or 2000?
Runners falling down on the basepaths on their own.
So many triples against the Braves. :(
So, basically, watch all the Padres-Reds games.
2:07 why is Adrian Gonzalez playing right field🤦♂️
Peytonmakinstatements54 interleague game with no DH and wanted to get him in the lineup. Have to assume that big papi was playing 1st
Has a pitcher ever hit an inside the park homerun
Do at bats where mariano rivera broke bats haha
First mlb hit is a triple for pitcher. Pitcher broke up no-no with a triple
Usually were saying poor NL pitchers but this video takes that off my mind everytime they step to the plate
When they walk the guy in front the pitcher says bad idea
3:50 everything looked uncomfortable about that outfielder
This mostly is not triples, it is singles and errors
You made this too soon to catch Perdomo's *fourth* triple of 2017.

www.espn.com/mlb/stats/batting/_/year/2017/league/nl/sort/triples/order/true
Great video. Man, some awful overplay in the outfield.
