- This video is a collection of players that have collected 6 hits in a 9 inning game. The MLB record for most hits in a 9 inning game is 7. This was set by Wilbert Robinson on June 10, 1892 and Rennie Stennett on September 16, 1975.

How did Damon have 6 hits if he was out at second? I'm pretty new to the ins and outs of baseball. Would that not be 5/6 with an out? Or would it have been considered a hit because of the RBI / it could have been a single?

1. Ian Kinsler - Cycle + 6
2. Rendon - 3 HR + 6
3. Chone Figgins - RBI pushes game into extra innings, and walk off RBI + 6
4. Johnny Damon - Walk off + 6
Least Impressive:
Gonzalez - 2B didn't even try for the ball. The crowd let him have it. Maybe shouldn't be an error, but the effort sucked.
Rios - Had a triple, but the funny bounce shoulda been an error on Prince
Sanchez - Really bad throw by the 2B. Shoulda been an easy out. No idea why that wasn't an error.
Rendon had hits off of non-pitchers. Can't really count that. Harris hit two triples. That should be number 1 or 2.

So the question is , how many has done the feat ?
Props to the teammates. 6 hit games obviously require 6 at bats meaning the rest of the team has to hit very well too. Without doing the math, I'm guessing that the rest of the team has to have 15+ hits/walks for this even to be possible. Well, I guess extra innings could help too.

That generally means that he hit it off the bat close to his hands. It does sound weird but it actually means something particular to baseball. If you watch the hit again you'll see he does hit it in the way I described.
It's a normal baseball term or phrase. Not sure what gutter your mind came out of, lol. But, it's got a pretty obvious meaning, especially when paired with what you watched as he said it. Another result would be to get "jammed" if you hit it in the same way, but the ball didn't go fast/far enough. If you got jammed, the ball wasn't fisted, lol.

This video only lists 6 hits in a 9-inning game... Gwynn's 6-hit game in 1993 was a 12-inning game. But you can see Gwynn celebrating Adrian Gonzalez's 6-hit game at the 7:40 mark.
