I have hundreds of old 45’s & albums from the late 50s through the 60’s & 70’s.
Also hundreds of old books that belonged to my mother. & a whole lot more!!
I have a painting I bought years ago in my living room. I paid $20 bucks for it at a moving sale. I had an art collector /friend and his family over for dinner. He tried to buy the painting off of us for $4,000. My husband looked it up.... it's worth over $10,000. Its crazy how you dont know what you have sometimes.
I bought a large old painting at a farm auction in South Africa also for approx 20 USD....after research I found it was painted by a very well -known British master, exhibited at the Royal British Academy in the early 1800s, similar works of the artist is to be found in the TATE as well as Wolverhampton galeries as well as one or two well known galeries in the USA. This painting is also worth much more according to auction results at the most well-known auction houses in the UK and USA.
That's when two fools met him for offering it and you for not selling it hahaha

I have an old Napco Cookie Jar from my Grandmother, some of her old silverware, Hummel's, and vintage Tupperware, and so much more. 💖
When I was a little boy, my neighbor "Janie" (a girl that I liked) had a "portable record player," and I had "my old collection of records" (both 45's and 33's). We would play them over and over again.We enjoyed all the great '60s music coming out of them, like the song, "How Do You Do It?" by Gerry and the Pacemakers. The records were all scratchy, though. The record player needle would skip or stay stuck on the record. One day, though, I decided to clean all of my scratchy records, painstakingly "licking each one of them with my tongue." Surprisingly, to my amazement, it worked !!! The records sounded like new again !!! I don't recommend this to anyone, though. I was a little, innocent kid. LOL 🙃

I have an old Yo-Yo quilt I believe it was made for my aunt who was married in 1942. It is for a double bed and the bottom corners are open to fall nicely around the corners of the bed.
You mentioned VHS tapes and players. Today, you see advertisements for Blu-ray and DVD players, and most Blu-ray players are meant to playback DVDs, but does anyone remember the VHS/DVD player models??? I've wondered about those,.....
The other thing that goes through my mind about this video is the fact that many old every day items are easily replicated in today's world when movie producers do period films. However, did you know that sometimes they will send agents out to literally buy those older every day appliances for props for their period film???

Number 11 - paper. If you have paper in the form of cash money don't throw it out. Depending on what kind you have that paper in your attic could be very valuable.

well i went up to my attic and found 2 vintage wavy glass and a vintage bug spray can and found some window weights with a note from 1972 my attic was stuck in time

Old comic books, If you have an old comic book from the 1930’s and 1940’s you could have something valuable depending on the comic and the character if you have an Action Comics #1 or a Detective Comics #27.

I have a toaster where the toast actually comes out the bottom. Then another one from the 50's. Also one of the first cameras that Polaroid came out with.
My family had SOOOO many antique items at a cottage we had when I was young. My dad took certain things out then just sold cottage as he felt we no longer were getting as much use out of it. 2 things I remember he left was OLD RCA Victrola & OLD toaster. Actually 2 toasters. One you flopped sides down & put bread in. Other one you put in one end & it moved through getting toasted. Had to put it through couple times lol. Oh the money my dad left in items. Most things were there when my parents bought it in the late 50's very early 60's.

You can go on eBay sold and see 😃 Beware of antique consignees cuz I got ripped off and didn't even get all my items back.

You failed to mention the old 8-track tapes and the players required to play them. I have lots of those 8-tracks that I transferred to cassettes. Also, consider the cassette tape racks that store the tapes. Many of those were made of real oak wood, and were secured to the wall.
I have a hardcover book titled, "The Happy Phrase" "A Handbook of Expression for the Enrichment of Conversation, Writing and Public Speaking" "Compiled and Arranged by Edwin Hamlin Carr" On the inside 2nd page it reads, "G.P.Putnam's Sons, New York and London The Knickerbocker Press 1915. It is in good condition and the glue used in the spine still holds. No loose pages. After watching your video I am now curious if it is is worth anything. Thank you for sparking my interest.

Three dozen of the VHS tapes of the Disney variety. These tapes date back to the 1990's era. I noticed only the DVD's are being sold at thrift stores never the VHS variety.
Havew around 200 VHS tapes kept from the closing of a video rental store. Some are less popular movies from the 80's

Don't throw away those old rubber soccer balls, that were used in soccer games in the late 1960s, 1970s.

Many of these old rubber soccer balls can be worth hundreds $$$, but they have to be "game balls"
If anyone out there has old rubber soccer ball, that are flat and very worn, same thing, don't toss them out just yet.
Here's the breakdown....
they must be rubber
they must be full size
they should be very worn and have been used in games
they should not have any dry rot.
They do not need to retail air.

I did some further research in several different ways, not just the Internet, and apparently the Black Diamond Disney VHS tapes being worth thousands on ebay is a hoax. Haven't been able to find ANY VHS tape worth, what did they say...50 grand, right !!!
