  • Lots and lots of locomotives in LTEX's Lordstown location. Notable here are a few BC Rail/CN C40-8Ws, a quintet of QNS&L locomotives, an MMA U-boat, and more class 1 units than you can shake a stick at.

    MEC 608
    MEC 617

    Thank you for the video, I'm jealous I wish I owned those localmotives, if I only could would win the jackpot lottery. I would buy old localmotive engine's and have a nice collection of fixed up engine's and a few cars to go with it.
    Thank you again for the video.

    Our local railroad just received 3 SD60Ms from there, Ex UP units.

      There are plenty of them. I think there's one at 0:50, on the track behind the row of NS switchers. Southern belle switcher at 1:35. Looks like a row of five or six in southern belle paint in the background, above-right of centre at 2:39. Two grey road locomotives in the centre of the frame at 3:04 (same pair visible at 2:39). Three in southern belle at 3:46 and another one full-frame at 6:24 (also seen a few other times, from farther away). Grey one at 10:12.

    Are they all headed for scrap? I would assume those 4 axle GP-38-2's rebuilt would be in high demand since 4 axle's are no longer manufactured.

    i was looking at this place on google maps the other day, and noticed there is another place with engines pretty nearby (mcdonald) that youd have to use a drone to see them. what really interested me was what look to be BN paint EMD F or E units.

    Wish someone would save those 2 ex SP tunnel motors, not to mention the 1 SP tunnel motor still in original SP paint. Those were some incredible engines EMD built. Sad to see all those EMD SD-40, 50 and the SW1500's just sitting there. Sure don't mind seeing the newer GE's rotting. Junk locomotives.

    Sorry if this is a noob question, but does LTEX buy ex locomotives? I see so many ex UP's, CSX, CP's, also why does a locomotive become ex company?

    • @HannibalXoner
      @HannibalXoner Před rokem +1

      essencially LTEX buys the locomotives that the big companies don't want anymore, then sell, lease, part out, or scrap them.
