    It's hard to believe those Amtrak GEs being run out already, but I guess it's been 30 years since they were new. Time does fly. Great aerial video!

    I think there are more locos sat in that yard than are operational across the UK.

    I was there a year ago, and the amount Conrail Dash 8 cabs on the far end was crazy. Most of them seem to be gone from the spot they were in. The KCS Gray SD50s I remember as well they seem to be on the same track they were on unless it's three different ones. NS got rid of most of their SD40s at this point lmao.

    Two brothers who live in the city of Howland purchased the complex about 8 years ago for 3 million. The buy locomotives from all over the U.S. and have them delivered via rail, fix them up and resell them. Yep, I seen my car

      Well one of them was sold to LTEX by mistake. It's #8595 which is the last B&O locomotive built. It was meant to be donated to the B&O Railroad Museum, not sold to LTEX. #8595 is in extreme danger

    The amount of dash-8's that are being scrapped right now is just insane. Just wait all of the railroads will regret doing this when power shortages inevitably come lol

    From 2:22 to 2:28 in this video you can see a black & yellow geep between a blue unit and a Santa Fe warbonnet. I believe that this is former Rarus 301, ex BN 1634, exx NP 560, a GP7 built in December 1953. It was the last surviving ex NP GP7. The rooftop "torpedo boat" air reservoirs are a clue; I believe that this was the only Rarus locomotive so equipped. As this video was posted on May 18, 2022, it is quite likely that 301 has been scrapped since then. Any additional information from those more familiar with the Lordstown collection & disposition would certainly be appreciated.

    hi csxt2558 !!! yes, i believe you are correct about emissions, but as i look at your picture i see engines much newer than, lets say, sd 40-2's, which not only are everywhere in north america, but are modernized with newer computers/emission controllers/etc. and remian in service for years... alco's, too !!! blessings to you, goin' upstairs to run some trains !!! -5 here this morning in western ny stste !!

    In the locomotive scrapyard first appears to be old Amtrak P42DCs (0:00) followed by an Amtrak F40PHR. (0:30) Next appears to be 2 Ex SP SD45T-2s which ran on KYLE. (0:40) It follows by an Ex Santa Fe retired by BNSF (0:51) , then a Conrail GP38 7803 that ran on the B&P, (0:53) then a Norfolk and Western GP18 922 that also ran on the B&P, (0:57) and then an ex Southern Pacific SD40T-2 that ran on the Goderich & Exeter railroad numbered as 3054. (1:01) and then another ex ATSF. (1:10) Going down a bit lies UC 3104, a B23-7 blt for the Seaboard Coast Line. (1:24) Going down more are some Ex MMA C30-7 5018 built for the BN. (2:12) There were some other ones by the same railroad which are ex Conrail B23-7s, (you may caught what's left of it at 3:24) and more ex BN C30-7s, along with some Ex LMX B39-8Es. (what's left of it at 3:44) There is an NS with a blue nose, maybe from an old Conrail, More Amtrak P42DCs (2:44) There are some intersting and rare locos that did not end in the footage, such as a New York Central FL9 2012 that is awaiting preservation. You may see it behind the Bajarr at 4:32. 4 Ex-Adirondack FL9, F7As, and FP10 which were used for tourism, retired, had their reporting mark changed to LTEX. I am not usre if it had made it to the yard or still at the Utica. There is also a Trump 2020 passenger car at 4:27. I don't know what they're going to do with it.
    The scrapyard mainly consists of old GECX Ex-CSX C40-8Ws, GECX Ex UP C40-8s, Old CSX, NS, and UP EMDs.

    The last B&O locomotive known as CSX #8595 is in extreme danger. It was sold to LTEX by mistake. It was never meant to go there, it was supposed to be donated to the B&O Railroad Museum of Baltimore. CSX #8595 might soon be scrapped if no action is taken. #SaveCSX8595akathelastBaltimoreandOhiolocomotive

    So many locomotives, some of them waiting for a chance to be bought by another railroad company, while others end up being cut up for scrap.

    hello csxt 2558... here in western ny state all we hear quite regularly is that our 2 main carriers in our neck of the woods, csx and ns, are having severe power shortages. in seeing this video i have to wonder just what is going on with them !!what is your feeling, csxt ? all those engines could be used, or at least most of them.... somethin' just does not seem right here !!!

      Would it be an issue with trying to keep up with government emissions regulations. This always seems to effect the railroads

      Don't let LTEX dismantle the last B&O locomotive ever built known as #8595 which is an SD50. We need an emergency fundraiser to acquire #8595 and send it to the B&O Railroad Museum

    A lot of genset locos! They are fairly recent build, why are they here? Not work as intended?

  • @jameshansel7546
    @jameshansel7546 Před rokem

    It would be cool if CSX acquired all of the locomotives that they sold here back into service again but that obviously will not happen unless an unexpected surprise happens. All of these locomotives are just sitting here going to waste. I think what CSX did selling locomotives like that was a big mistake since they were running totally fine before that.
