Tula Ammo Accuracy 122gr, FMJ...is it the ammo OR the shooter?

  • After seeing a couple videos of people posting their reviews on whether a round is "accurate" or not, the only way to determine if out of the same batch, that the rounds were not "consistent", is to pull them apart and weight the grains of the round.
On my part, I wanted to emphasize on the shooters OWN technique: proper breathing, trigger squeeze, sight picture, and steady position. I learned this from my prior years, and can attest to it.
I'm showing screenshots of what my buddy and I, shooting Chinese SKS's, with TulAmmo 7.62x39 122gr FMJ, and the DIFFERENCE we shot in our targets.
Sure they are not 100yds, both were at exactly 25 yrds, same timeframe.
Hopefully showing this will keep people from "blaming" their ammo alone and have them truly practice on their shooting skills...it's like a sniper, just because I have scope does NOT mean I can shoot one mile away...you have to take other things into consideration as well.
For those that would like to learn more, here is where I learned my fundamentals when I served back in the day:

It’s not the ammunition, it’s the shooter period.

These tulammo does shoots straight and it's a good price to buy.

practically ANY ammo that is factory made is made in a grain of .05 of each other (I reload some of my ammo, and decided to measure the varying weights of different ammo from different makers.

I agree, the technique of shooting a rifle or a pistol is going to have a much bigger effect, for most people, than the weapon system and ammo. One of the things that people overlook on shooting is eyesight and what you're doing with your eyes. Holding the front sight post in focus and steady in one spot on the target sounds easy but unless you have some experience and/or training in rifle marksmanship (as in military basic rifle marksmanship) most folks' line of sight will tend to wander the longer the shot string is. That's probably why in the Army BRM you're doing 3 shot strings for zeroing instead of 5 or 7. Although I don't have evidence to support it, I think the type of iron sights makes a difference as well. With AR or M16A2 sights, you have a peep sight and post combo and with the Comm Bloc older weapons you have a rear leaf with post combo. I think theoretically, it's easier to be inconsistent with the peep sight because how close your face is to the rear sight can change if you're not ensuring the same cheek weld each time. The example I use is if you look through an old style keyhole from 5 feet back, what you can see through the hole is very limited but if you're eye is right up on the keyhole you'll see quite a bit wider field of view.

I want to see you try 50 to 100 that will be very impressive iron sights

I like to use the M4 25 meter paper target since it replicates a human size target at 300 meters without requiring such a large distance. This red style target is great at first but I have to use something that is more challenging to be honest

With a 30 cal bullet I don't think so. I think you need to do more research 2 different animals m4 & ak47

@@alexvelasquez6518 a 300 meter target is still a 300 meter target. SOme of us dont have large spaceS to shoot and are limited by what ranges we have in the city limits sadly. We can into ballistics all we want. The point of the video is to show using the same ammo, different shooters different results

The Soldier makes the weapon, the weapon doesn't make the Soldier. 😉👍🏻

Can also be the rifle every rifle likes different ammo. Try swapping rifles with your buddy

Did that as well. We do it all the time with M4s in the Army when ppl complain about not hitting the target :)

Your making a accuracy test video at 30 yards ?

1st It is spelled "You're" btw...means "You are"
2nd If you watch the rest of the video you would hear the comment about that...if you do math and look at geometry you can calculate. You can stop blaming your ammo. Snipers in the military would prone to "mil" grade ammo..it was their skill that made them better. Too many like to blame ammo for their poor shooting instead of focusing on the fundamentals of shooting itself. I recommend you watch czcams.com/video/pwG-D0HjCBQ/video.html and go over the series, lots of information!

Just get tired how people say "ARs are more accurate, etc"...it's based on the shooter. Give an amateur an AR and he won't do crap when compared to a trained shooter on an AK...doesn't matter what platform.

    • @itwaslikeemptiness
      @itwaslikeemptiness Před 5 lety +1

the truth of the matter is that optic mounts on the AK do not have as solid a connection with the barrel as on an AR. With iron sights, performance of the AR will still outperform the AK because of the sight radius. When I shoot my ar-10 at 35 yards iron sights (with Tula ammo) all holes are touching. At 100 yards with iron sights, it depends on the target. IF the target is made to be clear and easy to center on the front sight, then one can achieve accuracy similar to when firing through an optic, i.e. around 1 MOA with an AR platform. With an AK its a more than 1 MOA, around 1.5-2 MOA.

@@itwaslikeemptiness there was an iron sight for the ak platform that had the ar style.sight and gave mush better results. I agree the sight radius on the ar is alot better
