Amazing how many comments here cannot simply give Yarde credit for a great performance without trying to cheapen with with claims he is only a domestic fighter. He came seconds away from KOing Kovalov and destroyed the undefeated fighter who also beat him so nobody can say yet what Yarde’s ceiling is.

He came seconds away from koing kovalev because kovalev was already washed up and anyone with good Power has a ko chance in this sport but don't forget that he Lost every single round apart that round 8 and kovalev hit him with almost every single punch he threw. Fighters like yarde depend upon overwhelming their opponent...last time Arthur managed to make him hesitate that's why he won. This time he adjusted his fight plan. I personally think that Arthur was badly buzzed in round one looking back at it and hence so sluggish and wary until the stoppage?

    Good win by Anthony Yarde.
Big up also to Tunde Ajayi who is so under rated and has too many haters.
Yarde just needs to move his head more.

After watching Yarde in action against someone other than Kovalev. I still haven’t changed my mind on who I think wins between him and Beterbiev. He has huge defensive holes. He seems to rhythmically change his guard dropping his left hand into an almost Philly shell stance. Excepttttt he doesn’t use the Philly Shell properly and his only defense is when his guard is up he will absorb the punches on his arms and gloves. Which is fine. If he always kept his hands up. What do I mean by this? Take for example in the first round. Yarde has Arthur in the corner ready to pounce. He gets timed perfectly when he is rhythmically dropping his left hand and is deterred by a hard snapping jab. He then proceeds to get caught by multiple overhand rights(at least 2 or 3 in succession). When his left hand is down. This spells bad news for Yarde because Artur’s right hand is where he carries most of his power and more specifically the overhand right. He better fix this. Need he become #19.
