Maidana has to be one of my favourite boxers of all time. Never a dull moment with him.
He was terrible. Can't box at all. Just put his head down and threw wild punches. I don't even think he hit Floyd once. He punched his elbows and the ropes.
He must have thrown 50 punches from top to bottom hitting the head and occipital area, I don't think it's very regular, anyone can hit you if he starts punching you as well where he couldn't, at this point punches in the balls also count, shameful, so many punches thrown on the head

Anyway, I said Maidana's one of my favourites of all time, I didn't say he was the best boxer of all time. He let his hands go at any opportunity and was never knocked out, it was always a lot of fun watching him go after his opponent, most of whom were fighting simply to make it to the end of the bout.

Yep Floyd's greatest weapon aside from his smarts, was his focus and composure. In Boxing Focus is super important, you can so easily just go auto pilot because your nervous.
3 rounds in the video and both men are amazing. Maidana has a great gameplan to pressure Floyd inside to kinda limit his counter power but Floyd's defense while taking shots is still immaculate.

Pretty Boy aka young Floyd Mayweather was a well rounded boxer-puncher, while Money May aka Current Mayweather is a counterpuncher/out-boxer.
True but so did Mayweather if you noticed that in this fight Mayweather put himself on the ropes a lot & he gave a few rounds away than usual so in a way he made look competitive & that's why Maidana did his thing because in the rematch Mayweather didn't leave it up to chance

People were not aware that they were witnessing the best fight of their lives. Maidana deserves tie, at least
He absolutely does not. Maybe you can make a case for the one judge scoring it a tie live, but being able to rewatch it it’s very clear that the fight wasn’t that close. Maidana won maybe 4 rounds. You cannot forget to score defense. If a fighter throws 30 punches and lands 10 vs the other fighter throwing 18 and landing 9, the 9 is most likely winning the round. More accurate, more elusive, and comparable in punches landed. The crowd tends to sway peoples opinions and make you think punches are landing.

I don't have much knowledge on boxing I just watch it for fun. I have one problem with what you said. It is very hard to hit Mayweather's head, so opponents hit his body a lot. So don't body punches count in boxing? Does it score less points or something?
Boxing at its purest is to hit and not get hit. Floyd is a master of that.

@@jbcalderon0835 You have to have experience to appreciate what he's doing in there. You get in there with the best athletes around the world and "run" it won't look the same! You're only saying that because he makes it look easy.
By round 5/6..., Floyd was fighting at a disadvantage somehow (not because of the eye cut)... His punches was slower, less accurate., his reflexes were definitely dull, and his footwork along with his known ability to dodge was definitely suffering. But because he has such a huge bag of advantages over other boxers, I noticed he turned down on a few of his advantages, paced himself to stay winded, and started relying on his counter punching.
Floyd is truly a one of a kind... And easily the best boxer of all time

Great fight! Maidsna came to fight and put out a great effort...just ran out of steam down the stretch due to Mayweather's underrated body punching and boy did he fight rough abd rugged! Yep. The ref helped Mayweather too much. Mayweather never in his career got penalized for holding. My complaint with Mayweather is he was so much better than everyone. But he utilized these tactics to win. I’d have respect for him if he actually knocked his opponents out. But he took the easy way out.

He broke the rules so many times and there was very clearly a preference for Floyd to win, but the way the fans booed him in an American Stadium full of his supporters shows the dishonesty in boxing, I love Floyd he is a sensational boxer, but he does not deserve his record, not a chance
