  • Zinc plating is one of those things that is very hard to get done. It takes ages before you find somewhere that will do it for you. Then you have to wait weeks to get it back. All you are having done is a few bolts and a bracket. So, is it worth having a go yourself. Here I bought a proper kit, just to see if it is possible to do it yourself. Well, did I waste my money and time, or is it a nice thing to have in the workshop. Watch my video and make your own mind up.

Also there is a new poll every Monday on my community page so go check that out and see what you think, I will make a round up video of all results every quarter from the polls
See you next week - new videos every Monday from now on
    Happy riding

the finish you go is down to the prep before hand. harpic alone with the acid isnt enough. they need a wire wheel at the very least before. after that pop it all in an ultrasonic tank to clean.... then start the plating process. youll find it all goes much better

I used old kitchen oven in garage I wouldn't use your kitchen one that passivate can be quite harmful to your health so be careful bud make sure your wearing mask & gloves maybe use tinfoil box / heat gun to cure it just keep a eye on the temp though

@@RetroYamaha Yes, there are a few 'dodgy' chemicals used there isn't there. I will give that a go, as I am always interested in what other people do to get their results. Thanks.
