- Half way through a carb rebuild, I decided I needed an Ultracleaner. So, as it was my birthday, my lovely young wife bought me one! This is my first go with it. Follow me and see how it turns out. Please leave a comment and tell me your experiences with them. The good and the bad. Any tips, what cleaner to use. How much to use etc etc etc They are a great addition to any workshop.

I've got a pretty small jewelry ultrasonic cleaner thats good for carb jets and little bits but can't quite get a carb body in it.
Yes, I have seen those little ones they would be perfect for jets and very small brackets.
congrats .
Thank you, I am already using this constantly.
Very unimpressed.would simply clean with spirits first
Electric chip pan with a sander trapped to the side of it works great 😂
@@RetroYamaha Wow, that sounds great. I like it when people find easy ways to do things
@@paulreed3716 Yes, I was a bit unimpressed myself when I took the first item out. But!! the second carb I did there is a small jet (tube) in the carb body which is a swine to clear out. Even soaking in cleaning fluid for a few days did not clear it. 30 mins in the ultrasonic, means I can now blow straight through. So, well happy with that. But I believe you should clean the item first and then use it as a final intense clean.
might be a bit dangerous be a good idea to keep it on the floor but a little sodium hydroxide would work wonders
Yes, I am trying as many different things as I can. It is a new science to me. the biggest problem, is there is so many types of cleaning fluid. I will try and find one that works for engine bits carbs etc.
@@RestorationBiker yeah sounds good if i had the time and money id try one with sodium hydroxide and give it a rinse then in for a 2nd clean in aluminum brightener
@@Billskins4dayz Yes that sounds great. It is amazing what can be done if you know what items do what. It is a constant learning curve.
