Man, I love this channel! No bs, no drama! All Awesomeness!
Oh there's drama all right, Mister BxAct. That plus plenty of bruises and scrapes (if that's what you meant)
:P
But if he doesn't finish the build today he's gonna lose his shop😂
Great info!!!
There are several folks I subscribe to on YT that I really like and have lots of respect for, but VGG is honestly my favorite channel. Derek impresses me as a genuinely nice guy with a great family, and when he says he appreciates us watching at the end of his vids, I think he sincerely means it. Definitely need more guys like him in this world...
I’m sick of TV and sick of cable CZcams is the new Hollywood
Best channel on CZcams. Hands down. Guy is moving his family and business across multiple states and still comes up with great content every week. You’re the man Derek, keep up the good work
Not to mention he drove across the country to Arizona for an event this weekend (I got to meet him) and he signed autographs for like 5 hours on Saturday. It really put things into perspective how hard he works to get us content.
@@Chevelle602 I wish we had some cool events in the NW that would bring these guys out here! Would love to meet Derek, Cleetus, and many others

This guy is great. You can tell he doesn't take him self too seriously but the opposite can be said about his work. I'm learning a lot, keep up the great work.
You haven't watched the other videos? A lot of things get fixed with duct tape and vicegrips
Oh and thats nots a diss
@@MrShakotan Some stuff gets fixed by pretending it wasn't seen. lol
@@mountainjeff good point. You can plead ignorance when the frame breaks in half on the interstate.
@@mountainjeff lmfao
Loved the little human running the zing zanger. Little feller getting that know how. Also appreciated the shout out about the ICT BILLET eng mounts. Grandson works in sales there.👍👍
I just love how serious your little helper is, everyy video hes in hes the perfect counter point to Pop without even knowing it, good job Bently!
Also He is so patient as Dennis speaks his blah blah blah.. LOL
Im a fan of the Bently unit. Gr8 to see him work on stuff an geterdone with his pops ;) .
Should I be concerned that my 7 year old son’s favorite expression is “Bring the Thunder!”?
Sadly, when he's old enough to drive, there probably won't be any thunder anymore. Just the whirl of an electric motor. Classic cars excepted of course.
Better start finding the barn finds now ...🤣
Hopefully he's not pulling yourfinger at the same time
Got four boys aged 1-9 and five project cars now. It’ll be fine.
Wait for the first time he says, "Moses Sandals" or "I'll be dipped!"
I’m an Australian car nut and love your channel. No fake BS just totally enjoyable. Well Done.
Your boys just make this Grandma smile. They quietly do their job while dad does his. I’m hooked on this channel!
Derek's little Bob Ross moment with the flex plate was great. He really is the Bob Ross of mechanics.
We will use some Prussian Blue .
Amen on that
Happy flex plate
Yep, it made me realize I cut corners on my cheap flex plate, so I’m gonna buy a nice one before I put it in. Better safe than sorry.
happy little accident = "I'm gonna just pretend I didn't see that.
Haven't even watched it yet - but already gave it a "Like" cuz I know it's gonna be good. Now, without further ado ..... bring the thunder!
Same thing here! Pretty much what happens every time now lol.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 yup
Ever time lol you know you gonna love it!
Yep yep. Hit play then like. As always.
Same😅
My youngest is the first of my three sons to share an interest in cars with his dad. Big reason for that is Derek / Vice Grip Garage. His content is friendly, accessible, funny, entertaining, and approaches things the way not-rich, regular working folks would. He presents as a decent man with strong give-back values. I save his content to enjoy with my boys, and that is really awesome on many levels. Thanks Derek and family! And keep it up. You have a bunch of big fans way up in Can-Na-Da!
My daughter 7 does my lad 10 well 10imutes and he is bored
My mom is 74 years old and never misses a show. Thanks for being you, and sharing your life and family.
Jeepers, between the "good enough for the girls we date" and the Bob Ross reference, you had me rolling!
I took a Pontiac Grand Prix spring along with a BMW upper spring insulator to a hardware store and combined the spring insulator with a HWI rubber union for inch and a quarter pipe. Since GM no longer makes the. Replacement part, I was jumping for joy that a car that no mechanic would touch is gonna be back on the road
The cashier asked what I was doing with all these parts and I explained it briefly that this repair is Good enough for the girls we date. Big smile that made both our Days
You forgot the Journey reference.
ikr
@@ClassicStreetIron Probably missed it when I was laughing, back to review.
Your sense of humor never gets old! 🤣🤣
I found VGG after my Father passed away, its been a huge help for me thank you Derek for the awesome content. Being from Tennessee let me Welcome you and your Family to The Volunteer State.
Well a guy from Denmark 🇩🇰 (in Europe) is looking forward to watch and follow another guy - doing this build 👍 stay safe everyone 👋😊
Now THIS is how to start a weekend!!! Thanks, Derek!
It's weird how time dilation happens when watching VGG videos. Twenty minute videos flash by in what feels like 5 minutes. Looking forward to seeing this build burst into life ASAP.
or, as Derek says "RIGHT NOW!"
Yes I'm so glad you came out with another video on the square body
I think that's about how big I was when my dad had me turning wrenches on the car. Had me doing the break pads, tune ups, and oil changes by myself at 12. Teaching me to do it got him 6 years of free labor out of me and lazy weekends for him, lol!
Nice seeing the old shop. There probably aren't a lot of videos left for that locale.
Derek I really enjoy the efforts you and your wife put into this CZcams thing. Thanks. 🍻
I recently bought a VGG hat and while I’m at work (making bun deliveries all over the country) I get people talking to me about the channel and how great it is. From Detroit to Queens and my home area in Ohio. Really brings it home how great the VGG channel is and how much it’s takin off!
ahh the big ol LS. good stuff ,, the anticipation of fire begins .. love .. to you all
BBR you rule
I spend everyday waiting for these videos to come out
Well I'll be dipped a feller has been anxiously waiting on this build
Oh man, "bangin that front end off the ground like a cabin screen door" brings back all the feels from family trips to Eagle River, WI, growing up!!
My uncle owned a small resort in Eagle River. He passed away in the early 60's. Great childhood memories. Was up there about 12 years ago and not much has changed.
@@johnherdener6801 It was my grandparents' cabin on Kathan Lake that I always looked forward to going to, even though it was a 9 hour car ride. The lack of electricity and running water added to the charm. Really hoping to be able to give our kids some kind of semi-regular trips like that to look forward to and remember.
One of the coolest channels on YT. Happiness is $10K worth of stuff from Summit. Wrenching with your boy. Priceless!!
My Fridays are immediately better when vice grip garage notifications are out wonder what Danny Glover is doing tonight perfect
Never mind. I see it's the other shop. A feller can't wait to see new episodes in the new Tennessee garage. Congratulations on everything man. Love your channels.
If you go back to the video on Lawsuit (the 1965 Chevy truck), it was shot in Tennessee at the new garage where Jessica puts the shine juice on it.
oil filter said mid July.
New shop stuff will come aplenty. Enjoy the new 'old' shop stuff while a guy gets his family settled in.
VGG is the best channel on youtube. i watch every second of every video
Like VGG , have a look see Coldwarmotors on you tube , buds helping buds with car stuff etc
channels like this are the best on you tube for sure ... Your channel is no slouch there by the way
Who tee who! Love your channel too bro! Keep up the ballistic testing!

Guy just did the same ! U r soul is clean now !!
Loved the music during the engine build, went together so well
The montage music is great. I like VGG doing ONE swap of the LS variety. Just one.
Trying to find a truck for less than one arm, one leg, and some various bits I'm fond of in Texas has become almost impossible. This guy can just build one. Wish I had the skills. Gonna be a nice goin to town rig when it's done.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 he said it! “Put a little tree here” of course I heard “a happy little tree”.
Thanks for moving to the automotive world Bob.
We love you and your landscapes a just as good with a rattle can, and you boiled oil with rag on canvas is amazing.
Love seeing your son help in the garage …. he’s gonna be like you dad, your boy will be like you. Cats in the Cradle. Keep up the great videos.
I spent most of my week rewatching a bunch of your build series on key cars and this was one of em. Dope!
Derek, you have so many vehicles I want to see back on the road but this one deserves to be on the priority list. Fingers crossed
thers to many to pick from lol
Derek, may you and your family live long, healthy and happy lives!
It’s been 3 days and still no update video.... idk how much longer I can wait!! VIce grip garage is the best channel on CZcams hands down!!
Superb, intelligent, well planned install. So satisfying seeing that lump finally in place and bolted in. Very entertaining vidya fella! Looking forward to the next episowedie.
Always impressed with your knowledge and work ethic Brother. Plus I like the way you explain things so even a hillbilly like myself can understand the process. Looking forward to the rest of the build.
The wife and I met you and your family at the kick off of the hot rod power tour in 2019. You sure have come a long way since then. Keep up the good work!
5:52 this awesome when your garage shadow is caught on cameras, lurking in the background, soaking up all that engine, and old truck ka-knowledge right from the old man himself... cool
The guy actually teaches you something every time in his own way. (His Way)😂
Very cool that your son is hanging out absorbing the knowledge like a sponge.
could be the Bentley .
Every video on this channel should hit 1,000,000 views.
YUUUP! I WAS ABOUT HIS AGE WHEN I STARTED WRENCHING ON CARS.......NEVER LOOKED BACK!
Great stuff Derrick, I still remember almost 10 years ago, when I dropped in my power train into my 1965 Chevy Super Sport. Fired up the motor with no front clip on, it was magical. Cheers!
It’s Good To See Some Forward Momentum On the Ole’ 3x3 Crew Cab Flavor Pick Up.
I watch these videos every night while smoking blunts. Love Vice Grip Garage.
1 million coming on fast. My family loves this channel. Total clean Awesomeness.
So happy to see this rig get closer to “goin ta town”.
You seriously have the best content on CZcams when it comes to anything automotive. You are a gem Derek!
My legs are in pain just watching you work. Age 64 retired mechanic. Still I enjoy the comedy. You crack me up. lol
yes!! Let's go! Hope the move went well for you and the family
I went to school, got the career, family lives comfortably and here I am, watching these videos and thinking about what I can go fix or replace on my vehicles. Last week, installed a new alternator, belt and tensioner just because I thought it might be a fun. Great channel, been watching a long time and thanks Derek.
From some random person on the innerwebs, if you have the extra cash after the family is taken care of…do it. My mechanic uncles always told me growing up, take care of your livelihood and if you can afford a hobby do it. Whoever you are wherever you are, if you have the cash the space and some sort of time do it. A project isn’t done in a week, a project is time, dedication, blood, sweat and the works. Maybe don’t start crazy get something that doesn’t need lots of work and grow from there. I hope you get your hobby!!!
@@bestofnygaming4052 thank you! It’s so nice to read such a reply.
It's so awesome to see Jr helping in the shop. Wish more kids could have the same experience. There is the making of an American Man right there. Good job Derek.
Good too see you son out there with you... Miss those days when my little Feller was with me.... He is now a big Feller doing his own thing.... Enjoy your videos as well as your other channel ....
I have been watching Bad Chad for about a year I love the program but he talks everything to death so started watching Vice Grip Garage what a difference I love this man's sense of humor and he keeps you interested and best of all he is down to earth.
I’ve done several square body LS swaps, the Tejas Steelworks engine mounts are the best swap mounts out there. They raise the engine to point that the bottom of the truck pan is even with the crossmember & also allow clearance for the factory low mount AC compressor. They also have lots of other nice square body LS swap parts, such as ECM mounts & fan shroud for dual electric fans.
Awesome, was looking forward to the progress on this truck!
I wss mid test drive of a 2000 tahoe. On inspection I was walking around, did two "pssssts" at front door bottoms. And three "I'll be dipped"s when I realized the brush guard, tail light guards and step rails were oem. A diamond in the rough. Second was when the old man had everything worked on at my shop as well. The made in texas by texans door sticker was the third. Love this channel.
Always great to spend time with Derek
Thank the lord it's vice grip for that feel good Friday!
Derek another great video cant wait to see next video on the squarebody
Happy to see it finally getting put back together good luck with it
Holy sheet metal, man... the music when you are installing the new Moroso oil pan is purely sublime.... wow!
Very nice! Looking forward to the finished front end!
It's wild how much dust and dirt settle on parts in the shop just over time. Those garbage bags with a drawstring built right on in are a nice reusable defense
I'm living Vicariously through you Derek. My Absolute Favorite channel on CZcams.
Love ❤️ this CHANEL !! I’m going to recommend your Chanel to everyone and any won I can. Keep them coming.

Thank you
Sweet, that thing is going to have enough power and torque to tow your entire fleet in one go. It's nice to see genuine content like this. Don't see it nearly enough, unfortunately.
Great to see this project making progress.
How can anyone not like this guy's videos I just have to say that he's entertaining yet quite smart I think I have seen all his videos now
Welcome to Tucson Derek and Family I'm really looking forward to meeting y'all manana, but for now enjoy this beautiful night and crack a cold snack. Thanks
So glad I started watching this channel. It’s impossible to watch without laughing lol
It’s nice to see that truck finally have an engine in it when I saw that video I knew it was gonna be good and I was right keep doing what you love man this content is great
I can have a bad day at work .then come home watch your videos and my day got a whole lot better great work derick 👍🏻👍🏻
Hands down my favorite CZcams channel.
I’ve missed these build episodes! Excited to see this all come together
Only Derek can find a "people at Walmart" joke in an oil pan.
Why isn't this a television show like American Pickers? This channel is gold and this fellah is brilliant!
A guys gonna miss the work in the old shop but looking forward to seeing all the projects in the new shop.
just realized i have never seen derek without a hat on…maybe when he hits a million subscribers we will get a big reveal?
Just look on his Instagram
That time is coming soon at the rate his subs are going up! 🙌🏼
I can't tell you how thrilled I was to find out that there was another vidia for the peepers. I was going through some nasty VGG withdrawals...
I enjoy the Explanations and no time crunch we have to save the shop. I am appreciate the time spent thank you
Right on! Ain't nothing like the cherished memories a boy has helping parents wrenching the garage
Back when I was a wrench turner for big ole machines, we had a jet fueled from the local Air Force base come in to be worked on. I was told by the boss man that it sounded like a rod knock. Long story short, he did not pass Go and collect $200. Problem was a broken flex plate right where Derek was saying. But the inner piece caught onto the outer piece, thus making it still able to drive. Pretty interesting, but I guess you had to be there.
they make some weird noises and do strange shit.
My '90 C2500 did the exact thing.
I once had a tractor come into my shop with a broken crankshaft under it's own power. Made a hell of a racket, but it moved. (Btw, nothing else had damage, just the crank and a bearing. We replaced all as well as checked everything else.)
Have seen that issue more than once. I think some of this comes from shifting to drive while the vehicle is still rolling backwards. I see a lot of people doing that...........
A guy really appreciates a guy like Derek who step by step builds quality machines and explains all the way. It takes you away from the crap called life being thrown on you non-stop every day. Thank you Derek. 👍
THIS CHANNEL ROCKS!!! Just pain awesomeness… yep probably so. Seriously just found your channel two weeks ago and been binge watching ever since! Grew up on a farm with a mechanic Dad just brings back memories watching y’all!! Absolutely great, thanks for what you do Derek! Fan for life.
Best way to end a Friday. Kick the feet up and watch a new VVG episode
Humble, knowledgeable and low key humour all over the show.
One of the best automotive YT channels ever!!
So excited for this. I’ve been waiting a while. I’m starting my ls swap on my 1987 square body and really wanted to see how this one went and what parts were used

Ill never understand how you can dislike his videos, He's funny knowledgeable and very entertaining… anyway im glad its finally in. cant wait to see it run
I'm courious to see how the Monster turns out. I was pondering going with them for a trans for my Ram. I called them and talked to a guy who was supposed to call me back but never did. I did some research while I waited and found a bunch of horror stories so was scared to spend that much.
brother bought a 4l80e from them, nothing but trouble. ended up selling the truck because he was just tired of the hassle 2003 silverado 2500 with 6.0ls ex-cab on 35" with 8" lift
The only monster you'll get from a monster transmission is a monster headache nightmare where you probably gave up your good core transmission to have some 5 time rebuilt piece of crap no monster transmission don't do it
Dereck, "Good enough for the girls we date" had me rolling with laughter.
Thanks for the great content and format! Love your humor! Also, a quick thanks for keeping Lenny Pepperbottom's wisdom ALIVE!
Sure can tell a feller is in Nashville now with that steel guitar. SOO smooth!
