You can diffuse your hair on the cool setting if you don't want to use heat, it works best if you wait until your hair is about halfway dry 👌
I don't like using heat on my hair either, especially in the winter

I went to a new hairstylist for my curly hair the same day you did and I understand that anxiety so well. Getting your haircut when you have curly/wavy hair is SUCH a gamble until you find the right person
When I was younger I would always try to fight my curls and I hated my hair so much. But now at 32 I've learned to nurture them and I love my hair so much. I also don't use any heat. I would love to go to a curl specialist and learn even more about my curls

Kristen! Don't fear the diffuser - the impact it has on your hair overall is honestly minimal. Ever since I moved to PNW I've had to embrace my curl (I'm a 3a/3b - I'm sure you were told you're somewhere in the 2's) because it rains so damn much and straightening it all the time was futile.
Trust me, I know heat damage. Diffusing is not that and you can always diffuse on cold setting to get that volume, but have peace of mind that you're not using heat. I'd never go back to air dry!!
Also go get trims every 3-4 months and you'll have so much length you won't know what to do with it. That's my best haircare tip. No product can replace healthy, happy ends.
Lastly, look into bond builders - Olaplex No.3 is an example of high end, there's plenty on the lower cost end as well. The days I use a bond builder my curl is insane.

I am a advit drunk elephant user ever since you did you skincare on a plane video! BUT summer Fridays night time retinol is my go to! It is calm moisturizing and it is not making me breakout bad just minor.
get a denman brush and you can finger curl while it's wet/damp and let it air dry then gently break apart the clumps with your fingers and it should help ur curls form and last throughout the day!

I have super similar curls to you, and I would highly recommend using DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel whenever you wet your hair - you scrunch it all up in there when your hair is soaking wet & then let it air dry. Dude, game changer.
Also wrap your hair to dry with a cotton tshirt! I’m sure your stylist gave you plenty of tips and tricks, but I figured I’d throw in my two cents. Lol
does it leave your hair crunchy? i can’t seem to find anything that doesn’t leave the texture crunchy and hard
@@cagaponiesI let my hair get crunchy then after it’s dry I scrunch it with my hands and it usually comes back to life but your hair has to be dry and you can always scrunch it with some serum or oil to help give moisture
@@cagaponies nope, it doesn’t! At least not with my hair. It leaves it really soft
