This is amazing! My only comment has nothing to do with your skill. I would tune the open string lower to make it less tinny, but that’s just my preference! Great job!

as right as you might be about the tone, I think perhaps it's exactly the tinny quality that gives it cut. so once you have an orchestra (or whatever kind of accompaniment), this instrument will be able to carry the melody across. lead melody tones do better when they have a little cut to them. heard in context, I think you would reconsider your position on this.

You need some kind of bridge to transfer string vibrations to the deck. Guitar does not work like this. With the bridge it will be much louder.

Wonderful! When you play the instrument towards the end of the video, I feel like there is another sound playing at the same time. Are you doubling the notes with the sound of another electronic instrument or organ? Or is the sound at 10:30 100% from the motor wire hitting the string?
