I am a hurdy-gurdy enthusiast and I like a medieval music so much. I saw in the medieval music manuscripts (approx 12 -12 century ) very rare variant of early hurdy-gurdy (on illustrations). It was a little box-like hurdy-gurdy with a piano keyboard - it is 90% like your instrument After that, I found that this variant made one enthusiast form Germany (based on that illustrations)
So your instrument has very deep roots ))

In the winter of this year russian federation began a war against our country. Now in our city not going any military actions but sometimes enemy's rockets destroy infrastructure and military objects in my city and my region (and in the each place in Ukraine). Each day we have a signals "rockets danger form the air".
Now I temporary have not a job, because a company where I working made a pause in own work. I unfortunately now I have not an opportunity to help you in this great hobbie and your job. Music instruments is my hobbie but now I can not often visit my little workshop.

That's really impressive!
I like the simplicity and the concept. I wonder if it would have a stronger sound if the motor was a little larger and it was powered by a LiPo pack or a NiMh pack with a variable speed controller. I like this instrument!

A hurdy gurdy that don't need cranking ! You can replace that steel wire with a string to eliminate unwanted harmonics.

You can add a speed control for the wheel -- in traditional hurdy gurdy it speed not so fast. Additionally I recommend try to add a bourdon strings.
