I am a Ghanaian and I like how Mr.Abang is enjoying our food.
I schooled with Ghanaians for 5 years. Used to have a Ghanaian roommate then. I love Ghanaian food especially banku
I am Nigerian but married to a Ghanaian. You can also use baking soda to give it that color. For the stew, they use LOADS of onion, lik almost 8bug onion for a pot. They say that is the secret of waakye stew. By the way I loveeeee kenkey and fish
Same here I'm American Nigerian married to a ghanian and when I tell you I love their food,I've learned how to make it ohhh!! Waakye is my specialty!! I love how they use lots of ginger and onions in their food which gives so many yummy flavors
Your hubby’s Yoruba’s accent is on point👍🏽. Na real Lagos man.
I’m a Ghanaian but I don’t like banku with anything type of soups unless it’s okro stew /soup . I like how your husband is eating the food 🤗
I loved every Ghanaian food I've tasted so far. Lived in Ghana for over a year and I loved eating waakye and kenkey. Their light soup with assorted meat is on point too.
God bless u for ur compliment
I miss eating waakye so much, that pepper sauce that comes with it is everything
Waakye isn’t compete without spaghetti, shitto, assorted meat and garri. For the longest time I refused to try banku. When i finally tried it, soo delish 🤤 The watery soup is called lite (light) soup. My favorite ghanaian “dish” is SHITTO! When my ghanaian friend mails me a big jar of shitto yeah, i can finish it within a week and half. Cuz i’ll eat it with anything and everything!!!! Gosh I love Shitto ❤️
My Ghana peeps gather here😋😜🥰🥰❤️🥰🥰😀
Waakye is not complete without gari and spaghetti with salad. You should try waakye made in Ghana. You will love it. The waakye is red because they use millet leave which gives it that distinct colour. But you can prepare it without the leaves.
I actually love Ghanaian food
Waakye with shitto,salad and garri
I also love fufu and light soup with goat meat
Banku also with tiliapia fish
I’m a foodie 🤣😃😃
Shitto, banku with tilapia, fufu and light soup OMG. Yummy.
Where are my Ghanaian people ☺😁...gather here for..Awakye...😆
Where my Ghanaians at 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 🇬🇭
I’m Ghanaian but I will also be looking forward to tasting ogbono soup and afang 😊
Afang soup gives internal heat it’s not bad tho, it’s all depends on who prepares it. If you want better Afang soup then let Calabar or Akwa Ibom woman prepare that for you. Ogbono soup is great.
You’ll enjoy the waakye better in a leaf, it gives it a different taste, trust me.
This brings back so much memories
Happy independence, Motherland!
🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
Wow 👏👏👏👏
Happy you tried something from my country 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭 I also love waakye
Please where and where did you get the food. I miss Ghanaian food. Thanks
Really interesting video. Please share the location 🙏🏽 I’ve been craving Ghanaian food for ages!
You should try kenkey, omotuo and groundnut soup😋😋😋🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭...proudly Ghanaian
Loving the content & frequent uploads !!!! Keep them coming 😁👌🏾
Wow! I love the beauty in our various cultures. I hope to try out Ghanaian food soon. I totally enjoyed watching!
Chai, I used crave Ghanaian food like crazy during pregnancy! There’s nowhere I didn’t send my husband to to look for banku.
Please share location oo, make I go chop belle full
OMG....your husband is very fluently in Yoruba. I see why he likes Yoruba food 👏👏 (He's OUR ADOPTED BROTHER)
Nice to see you try ghanaian food, by the way am from Ghana
Akwaaba my Ghanaian friend . I love your food, especially peanut soup, turkey tail and TZ
Sending love from London 😘

Sis you and hubby are becoming to look so much alike how are the kids my regards to them love you guys so much
Where in lagos pls, cant wait to try Ghana food
Nice idea of doing this video, it's good sampling different types of food. Never had it, but I wouldn't mind trying it. 🥣 Thanks for your honest review, it's appreciated. Take care you two, bye for now! 👋🏻
Love it! Please post the locations. I want to try when I'm in Lagos. Thanks
Interesting to see a street vendor in Nigeria selling Ghanaian food 😊
The corn dough used for banku is fermented hence the sour after taste and it is mixed with cassava dough
The waakye is a mix of beans and rice with a particular reddish/purple leave that gives it that colour
And oh I realize the difference in what is referred to as okro soup and stew
When a Ghanaian says okro soup, it is liquid in appearance and okro stew has less liquid
I’m here💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾. Try, fufu and light soup or banku with fish and pepper
Wow such an interesting vlog I like waakye too even though never tasted it but people says is like rice and beans🥰
Wow thx for advertising us love u
You should try kenkey. Used to eat it in my junior secondary school days. It’s a corn meal served with pepper sauce and fish in batter.
We use some leaves to cook
*Wache/ waatse* that's how you pronounce it but it's spelt "waakye" I love you🥰🤭😊 and I'm earlyy
I had a spot close to Kola market where I used to buy Ghanaian food. Only reason I miss Lagos 😭😭😭. I envy you right now😔😔😔
Just love watching.
This video was so funn to watch 😋😍🥰
I’m a Nigerian currently living in Ghana and Waakye is lovely. Waakye is a mixture of rice and beans. It’s best eaten with some veggies, plantain , fish /egg or any protein of your choice and some people do add spaghetti to it tho. Banku slaps sometimes when you eat it and can as well be eaten with tilapia ganished with onion, blended pepper, ketchup and some tomato slices. 😋😋
Oh my, this is exactly how my Ghanaian friends served it to me recently. I mean the banku with tilapia ganished with onion, blended pepper. But I only ate the plain tilapia because I couldn't handle the fresh blended peppers or onions. Shito is the best thing since sliced bread!
Lol! I have been craving Kenkey for a while! Love that!!! I think I’ll love the Waakye too!!
It looks delicious 😍😋
Yes ooo there are places u can get better Ghanaian food. There's actually a place in Agege Salimonu street dey sell various Ghanaian dishes in dat street.
Watching this video I'm just sad your first time wasn't "real waakye and banku in Ghana", because it definitely looks and probably tastes better than what you got😂I will give you a personal treat to our foods anytime you make it to Ghana❤❤
Eating the banku with your hand gives a better taste 😊😍
Ur husband really enjoyed himself
We need one in Abuja too pls. Dreaming of fufu and light soup now 😍
The only Ghanaian food I have tried is Waakye and I absolutely enjoyed it.
Hmm this is serious..the rice i can definitely try it ..interesting to watch
Look so yummy 😋 I really want to try a lot of African food
An interesting take on a familiar subject. Why didn't you heat it up in microwave at home first?
Thanks for sharing. Bon appetit.

@@JuliaFranks 🖤
Fufu and soup is also nice, any other soup like chicken soup, palm nuts, ground nut. ect
I made it here early Yo!🎉🎉 i actually enjoyed eating waakye on the street of Yaya Abatan while i was in Naija and i sure do miss it.
Oh wow!
I grew up on a street close to Yaya Abatan in Ogba.
@@ChinyereAbang Tell me we were neighbors 🤯🤯
We may have been 😂
Yummymum ur facial expression of eating the Banku is so funny 😂 🤣 😆 😄...
I miss kenkee was just remincening a few days ago on IG. Can't find a Ghanaian spot in Abuja. Anyone please recommend
Yes u are really right that is my hometown food
So eager to try Ghanaian food, it looks really good 😌
Ghanaians normally don't eat Banku with Tea Spoon oo 😅...
We enjoy it with our right-hand🤌
I like your video as well 🇬🇭✈🇩🇪
Thank you!😂
Ooh the leaf is also called oka baba (guinea corn leaf) i boil the leaf for blood and works super fast..really high on blood 💯
Wakye is the TROOF! Fufu and aponchi krakra is the TROOF !
I'm Nigerian. Went to med school in Accra. Hehr!
Wow. This looks yummy
Boroboro must be the guinea corn/sorghum stem which gives it the red colour.
The sourness of the Banku is from the fermentation. When you come to ghana I will give you a full tour. I will give you the best waakye ever
Lovely couple❤️
Oseey Ghana 🇬🇭
Come to Ghana 🇬🇭 let me take you around 👌
They food looks good🥰👍
Some lady on here tried Amala and was insulting, juvenile and absolutely disrespectful about it, and for the first time I left a comment unworthy of my character. Needless to say, she's a fool. There is a way to sample foreign cuisine, not like it and express oneself without being a fool about it. You are one of my favorite Nigerian YT-BERS and I'm so glad that you were kinder in your expressions.
Abbie, God bless you, you have said it all juvenile and disrespectful ❤️❤️👍🏿
👉 Happy Eid Mubarak to all the Muslims in the building....
Nice video sister 💃 👌my Africa family 🌍 let's gather here and take selfie 🤳
Early bird😍
Ghanaian foods are very nice and not too different from ours in Nigeria.
The watery soup is called Light soup.
Yes, the Banku is ‘slappy’ but not terribly. 😂😂
More so, the Waakye is that colour because of the leaf that’s used to prepare it.
You should really try Ghanaian FuFu too, you should love it.
Yummy!😋😋
🤣🤣🤣🤣 your face killed me.banku is my favorite Ghanaian dish .I'm ivorian n my ex is from Ghana.wakye is/was my favorite Sunday lunch meal.
Kenkey with shito and fish is another popular Ghanaian dish. There r 2 different types of it.a soft one that i like and a hard one ( fanty kenkey)
Ghanaians speak yoruba ooo and very fluent.
Seen a couple.
Omo I have tried that banku and I am not going back mbok.
Well done
Next time try kenkey and pepper with fried fish or Ghanaian fufu with green soup (ebunuebunu)
Where can I get Ghanaian food in Lagos ? Any recommendations
Love your video, please include the address of the place. I’d love to try Ghanaian food
Banku has a sour taste that’s the corn dough. I guess it’s an acquired taste
Please where is this place in lagos
The banku tasted sour because the corn dough is fermented before it’s made.
I honestly don't know how to try new foods. I'm that person that would go to a restaurant and order the same food every time.
Me too😂
That is me oh!
My husband on the other hand, complete opposite 😩
🤣🤣🤣 sista please try to explore oh. Are you not a little bit bored?😏.
Me i eat everything that looks eatable, i never juge until i try the food.

Sorry it's "kenke" I ate.
Haha..both banku & kenkey are of the same family anyways...✌🏿
I suddenly just have cravings and it’s too late 😭😭
Yaaayyy I rep Ghana 🇬🇭
😂😂😂 Your facial expression is too funny.
Nice video 😘
Hello. What's the address to this place please. I am in Lagos.
Please share the address; I’m really keen on finding where to find Ghanaian food
No response…
I miss Banku 😩
Soup around the world is liquid..... stew does not have liquid. What you call soup is stew around the world . Ghanaians have soups ( okra soups) they also have stews ( okra stews ) you eat fufu in soups not stew you eat banku with soup, stew , fried fish etc you eat fufu in soup ( I said In because Ghanaian fufu sits in soup never separated )
