    UPDATE ON WARRANTY !
    It seems Samsung updated the warranty to include this :
    "Burn-In cover in warranty
    Burn-in at normal usage covered within warranty.(But, not covered for Commercial, abuse or mis-use)"
    This aligns with what I was interpreting the 3 year warranty, since no where did it say it did not cover burn-in. As long as its "normal use" its covered !

    i was just curious if you noticed the pixel shifitng while playing games, and if its possible to do it manually off or on since im planning to make a pixel refresh manually after some few games in FPS games. i dont really care on single player games but it would be annoying if it happens during a match. They're both roughly the same price, but Best Buy didn't have the Samsung's yet in stock. The picture on the LG is not bad at all, don't get me wrong. I am just curious if the QD OLED and 360hz is worth swapping to. I also think the LG has a higher brightness level than the Samsung which is useful.

    I wanted the 360hz over 240hz of the 4k. I don't care if the difference is negligible, it's still a difference. I also don't want two 32 inch monitors right now. I'm fine with two 27 inch monitors though. Samsung should just make a 4k version of this exact spec.

It does pixel refresh when you turn monitor off (you will only notice this when you turn monitor off before it was finished by a message that it wasn't finished). But won't give a warning until like 6h orso and single click dismisses it. I've only seen it ones and usually game longer than 6h..so not sure why that message was, maybe because it didn't finish before when it went off for a bit when i was fixing dinner.

    • @RitzyBusiness
      @RitzyBusiness Před 18 dny

      250nits on an OLED looks more saturated and vibrant than a LCD at the same level of brightness. But it'll never fare as well in brighter environments where a lot of modern LCDs can pump between 450 and 600 nits in sdr mode.
      200nits is the recommended brightness for SDR content in the average environment anyway, and HDR 400 true black can be anywhere between 600 to 1000 nits(depending on the screen) on a comparable hdr1000 miniled.
      But it's a give and take, if you need brightness and dont mind the blooming of miniled, you can almost get the best of both worlds, inky blacks where the LEDs are off but insane brightness on 100% of the screen. But of course you lose all the benefits of OLED, like motion clarity and true blacks without blooming. You also don't have to deal with the annoyances of IPS being kind of grayish, or VA being smear city under very specific circumstances (especially if you use sharpening filters in your games and like it to be extra crispy)

    The G60SD has a 3-Year Warranty. I've looked into the limited warranty and no where does it state that it DOESN'T cover burn-in. It has a 36 month Warranty Labor & 36 month Warranty Parts Labor. If you look at the warranty page it says
    "SAMSUNG will repair or replace this product, at our option and at no charge as stipulated herein, with new or reconditioned parts or products if found to be defective during the limited warranty period specified above. All replaced parts and products become the property of SAMSUNG and must be returned to SAMSUNG. Replacement parts and products assume the remaining original warranty, or ninety (90) days, whichever is longer."
    OLED Burn-in is a defect so it "should" be covered, whether a Samsung agent says it does or not (there are conflicting evidence).
    There's a lot of built-in OLED protection features to prevent or prolong the chances of Burn-In, which is probably why they're offering a 3-year warranty. While other brands do state explicitly burn-in coverage, I just think its more of a marketing term, since I can't find anywhere in the official samsung warranty document on this monitor that says OLED Burn-In is not covered.
    I could be completely wrong, but what do you guys think ?

      Pixel shifting and burn in potential is the only thing I can think of. Everything else about an OLED is absolutely optimal for high end play. I can imagine a pixel shift happening mid tournament, could ruin a match.
      ESports professionals care more for reliability, and familiarity. They practice sometimes more than 8 hours daily, so they actually need that reliability.
      If you look at the gear the pros use, most of them aren't using fancy 4k or 8k polling mice, or even good LCD monitors 😂. They also rarely change or upgrade their kit, because familiarity.

      @@RitzyBusiness are you saying that OLED can only use to a limited time per day? I mean i play competitively and I use my monitor for work and games after shift, so most likely its open 12-16hrs per day. Is this something i should consider only buying monitors? • @RitzyBusiness
      @RitzyBusiness Před 15 dny

      @@arcywafu If you're using an OLED monitor that intensely, daily, your risk of burn in rises. Noticeable burn in is becoming less of a problem, but its not a solved. Some people are luckier than others. And some use their pixel refresh more diligently than others.
      I would honestly have an IPS for work and an OLED for gaming. Chances are if you're gaming on it a few hours a day you should be ok for a few years. Just make your hud in games transparent if its possible.
      Myy comment was mostly around e-sports level gamers, that desire absolute consistency in every aspect of their gaming system. Tournament players and the such. In which if I were in that demographic I would not be looking at OLED as my main competition monitor. If you're carrying around your monitor to competitions you are probably going to benefit from brighter LCD IPS/TN panels as well since OLED's need a more controlled lighting environment.

      Asus oled does not have 1000 nits thats peak brightness on a small area in HDR mode . Asus oled still only has 400 nits over the entire display . Thats just the current limitaion of oled you cant have realy bright panel or the lifespan is just to bad . If you want a realy bright monitor you need to look for Mini LED

    • @RitzyBusiness
      @RitzyBusiness Před 18 dny

      I've owned a miniled and OLED, I think the overall package of HDR is more pleasant on an OLED, the miniled offers a big initial wow factor when you get blinded by the sun in a game that has a high white point in its sun 😂.
      Actually just in general, just for game enjoyment mini led is probably better at giving you a big wow factor. But the small highlights don't pop at all. I think gears of war 5 is a wonderful example of this. Early in the game you walk in a near pitch black area and the blue lights on on their armor is the brightest light in the scene. On miniled they look pretty dull, but on OLED they look fantastic. But because we focus more on the big details mini led seems more impressive from a glance. Color rendering on OLED is more distinct though in my opinion.
      You also have to deal with IPS or VA issues, as well as lower motion clarity vs OLED. As well as blooming if you're using it on a PC you'll see the miniled segments light up as your mouse crosses them. OLED overall is a better experience with less visual artifacts, but lower peak brightness and higher risk of burn in. If you're only playing on a game console, I'd be happy with either. If I were just casually watching TV I'd like the sdr brightness of miniled. But as a PC user and someone sitting close to my screen the artifacts of LCD tech are way too apparent compared to OLED. I've been spoiled 😂.

      Well, from what I understand oled panels are not as bright as regular IPS panels. If you put them side-by-side, you will notice the difference in brightness, which was a big throw off for me because I didn’t think it was going to be that noticeable but for me it is and it makes all the difference when I’m playing games like call of duty and pubg. It’s just way too dim I mostly play FPS shooters and that brightness gives me a bigger advantage on recognizing the enemy. I noticed I do way better on the regular IPS panel. I’ve had the OLED for about a week now. And I find myself switching back to my regular IPS g50a panel for COD. On valorant it looks really good and 360 fps is nice but I wanted this to be my glory monitor. I think I’m going to wait for the Asus 460hrz oled coming out later this year.
